These have been my favorite pants for a few years now, but it seems that the fit is looser each year. I don't like them as much anymore. I haven't changed size, but the two pairs of pants I just bought this year compared to the pair I have from 2 years ago are looser and baggier than I like, especially from the waist to the crotch in the front. The inseam has always been 1" too short for me. I get the XS, so there isn't an option to go smaller. I don't plan on buying these anymore. I bought the lined version last fall and I thought the baggy feel was because the lined version was slightly different, but the unlined version is the same now.

Comfortable pants. Just a couple of suggestions...The waist drawstring is WAY too long leaving a huge tail that has to be tucked inside the waistband! And I assumed (incorrectly after reviewing the product photos on zoom) that there would be some way of securing the ankle drawstring (maybe a small toggle? or at least a divided drawstring that could be tied?) While the continuous ankle drawstring conceals nicely when the pants are worn open at the ankle, it is a bear to tie and untie every time you want to convert from gathered to open. Bought these pants for travel to the jungle where mosquitos may be a problem, so I could tightly close the ankle. But am dreading the tying and untying.

This pants fit well and are very comfortable. They are wonderful for exercising as they feel so light and stay dry. However, the fabric pills at any spot where it rubs against any other fabric. I am washing them turned inside out in cold water and woolite in an attempt to keep them nice enough to keep wearing. I think the pilling occurs during wear rather than during the wash when the fabric touches other fabric. Such a shame as they truly are a delight to wear.

I loved everything about these, except for the size. I am 5'6" and 105 pounds. I ordered the extra small, the smallest size available. Unfortunately, they hung off me like a parachute, even with the drawstring tightened. I did love the look, the light material and the comfort and I would recommend them, but sadly I will have to send them back because they are so baggy on me.

These pants feel like jammie bottoms, but are somehow flattering. I am 5'6" tall and weigh 125. I was afraid the regulars would be too short to wear with the ankles cinched, so ordered a tall. Not necessary. The regular extra small fits perfectly. The problem is with the elastic in the cuffs. The elastic in the waist band is smooth and of high quality. The elastic in the cuffs is different - not smooth and catches EVERY TIME on the velcro closer on my sandals. I've not had the pants long and the elastic in the cuffs is already a mess. Ll Bean chose to cut corners on the cuff elastic with unhappy results for an otherwise great design.

I like these but only concern is the fabric weight - expected a more substantial fabric. I'll be wearing for heavy garden work and we'll see how they hold up.

I just love these pants. They are wickedly comfortable, but a bit too long for my 5'2" frame, even with the tightening string at the ankle. I would hope that LLBean would offer these pants in petites in the future.

If these pants came in a petite length, I would stock up on them! I 'm 5'2 and these pants are definitely too long if I don't use the ankle drawstring to keep them from dragging. I'm ok doing so, but the pants overall are made for someone taller. From the fit of the back pockets to the length of the crotch. I find that I get the best fit by rolling over the waist band. I'm willing to make these adjustments because the pants are so incredibly comfortable! Light, breathable, non-constrictive...these pants will be perfect for all sorts of activities! In fact I used them as impromptu exercise pants yesterday and found that I really enjoyed them more than the usual super tight leggings that are in fashion for such things.

Vista Camp Pants are my favorites for birding. They're lightweight, cool, quick drying, and comfortable. They don't look like dumpy cargo pants (unless the pockets are stuffed with gear). I like the elastic waistband and that they hit me at the waist instead of somewhere around the belly. There are plenty of pockets (though the cargo pockets could be a tad larger-hint,hint). I do wish the fabric would resist pilling better, but they stand up to washing and don't pill if I turn them inside out before washing. I now own 8 pairs (2 are close to ready for the bin) so I have extras when they get too beat up. I'm sure I'll be ordering more when I've worn out a few more pairs. Oh--and they're great for traveling.

I thought these were a heavier knit based on the time of year they are featured. They are definately more of a spring/summer material

I loved the fabric and color. The design was perfect for what I wanted but, unfortunately, the size small was way to large for me and at the time of my order there was no extra small. Had to return and will check again next year.

I will let you know after our hike on the Appalachian Trail how they worked. They seem very good though, comfortable, fit nice..

The fabric is outstanding, the design is attractive, and these pants held up well on a two-week birding trip. Great for travel, comfy and very fast drying. My one big complaint is that the pockets must be for looks, because they won't hold a passport, a small camera, my cell phone... . Active women need real pockets! The little leg ties are strange, as someone said, but i actually used them walking in high grass. Please - more colors, too.

I wanted to love the Vista Camp Straight-Leg Cargo as much as the cropped version, but the construction fails. The diagonal seam causes them to ride up and drag above the knee and prevents the fabric from gliding smoothly. Sadly, I'm returning.

Have several pairs from the past that I love. Ordered a new pair in a different color. The cut is much different, especially in the stride. I can wear them, and will, but I don't like them as much. Petite Medium.

These didn't fit me at all in size M Petite. I looked like I had pulled on a big bag as they were too big and bulky around the waist and stomach area. I sent them back. The style didn't look good on my build as I have a short torso. Though the material was nice and they were well made.

I loved the look, feel, and fit of these pants. I thought they'd be perfect for an upcoming trip to South America (where I'd be in hot, humid weather), so I bought one of each color. During the 3 week trip, the pants got snagged in several places. There were abrasions on the bottoms of the hems. I did lots of walking and easy hiking but nothing that would cause such wear and tear. I'm so disappointed in the flimsiness of these pants, and I cannot recommend them.

I have been buying and wearing for a few yrs. Style is great and so comfortable. That said the fabric gets thinner and cheaper each season Now terrible. New ones almost transparent and pulled first wearing. Also a bit shorter. .

I love these pants--so comfortable & had looked good going out On Errands & appointments, shopping & meeting up with friends, but after the second or third wash, i noticed the fabric pilling on the thighs (they aren't tight standing ot sitting)--i have the carbon blue, nutmeg & olive green colors--any ideas to get rid Of pilling? They look awful...But, the pants are well made, all the pockets are finished and lay flat, the wide elastic is very comfortable---all in all, the pants are great--what a shame about the pilling

I own several pairs of this pant style. But, truthfully, I will not buy another pair until the design issues mentioned in many revues are addressed. *Lower leg cinch that does not stay "cinched" because there is no toggle. What's the point if the cinched leg opening opens within a coupke of steps? *Pocket depth. The pocket placement would be SO convenient IF the pocket was deep enough to hold ANY phone larger than an outdated flip phone. These 2 design issues have not been addressed in the multiple years this style pant has been sold. An otherwise great product seems to be ignored when customers are asking for changes.

I've got several pairs of these, but the last pair I decided to try in the Toasted Almond color, thinking it would be a light tan. WRONG!!! The color is somewhere between a khaki and olive green, and goes with absolutely nothing. Horrid, horrid color. (But love the style and fit.)

The pants have a wrinkly look after the first wash. I was hoping they would maintain the straight and ironed look.
