The fabric is outstanding, the design is attractive, and these pants held up well on a two-week birding trip. Great for travel, comfy and very fast drying. My one big complaint is that the pockets must be for looks, because they won't hold a passport, a small camera, my cell phone... . Active women need real pockets! The little leg ties are strange, as someone said, but i actually used them walking in high grass. Please - more colors, too.

Have several pairs from the past that I love. Ordered a new pair in a different color. The cut is much different, especially in the stride. I can wear them, and will, but I don't like them as much. Petite Medium.

Cargo pants were a cheapened version of the ones I have from previous purchase smaller pockets, no string on bottom of legs. Disappointing. kathleen

These didn't fit me at all in size M Petite. I looked like I had pulled on a big bag as they were too big and bulky around the waist and stomach area. I sent them back. The style didn't look good on my build as I have a short torso. Though the material was nice and they were well made.

I loved the look, feel, and fit of these pants. I thought they'd be perfect for an upcoming trip to South America (where I'd be in hot, humid weather), so I bought one of each color.
During the 3 week trip, the pants got snagged in several places. There were abrasions on the bottoms of the hems. I did lots of walking and easy hiking but nothing that would cause such wear and tear. I'm so disappointed in the flimsiness of these pants, and I cannot recommend them.

I have been buying and wearing for a few yrs. Style is great and so comfortable. That said the fabric gets thinner and cheaper each season
Now terrible. New ones almost transparent and pulled first wearing. Also a bit shorter. .

Fabric wrinkles too easily. Pockets are too shallow.

I love these pants--so comfortable & had looked good going out
On Errands & appointments, shopping & meeting up with friends, but after the second or third wash, i noticed the fabric pilling on the thighs (they aren't tight standing ot sitting)--i have the carbon blue, nutmeg & olive green colors--any ideas to get rid
Of pilling? They look awful...But, the pants are well made, all the pockets are finished and lay flat, the wide elastic is very comfortable---all in all, the pants are great--what a shame about the pilling

I own several pairs of this pant style. But, truthfully, I will not buy another pair until the design issues mentioned in many revues are addressed.
*Lower leg cinch that does not stay "cinched" because there is no toggle. What's the point if the cinched leg opening opens within a coupke of steps?
*Pocket depth. The pocket placement would be SO convenient IF the pocket was deep enough to hold ANY phone larger than an outdated flip phone.
These 2 design issues have not been addressed in the multiple years this style pant has been sold. An otherwise great product seems to be ignored when customers are asking for changes.

I've got several pairs of these, but the last pair I decided to try in the Toasted Almond color, thinking it would be a light tan. WRONG!!! The color is somewhere between a khaki and olive green, and goes with absolutely nothing. Horrid, horrid color. (But love the style and fit.)

The pants have a wrinkly look after the first wash. I was hoping they would maintain the straight and ironed look.

Comfortable & well made pants.
Disappointed that waist drawstring is stretchy elastic & very long.
Finding I need to readjust & retie it often to tighten waistband.

Pants are very comfortable. Just wish the pockets were deeper for a cell phone, billfold and miscellaneous items would be secure.

I bought these pants in a M/T length, size small in August 2024. Perfect fit and length. I just ordered another pair in the same size in March 2025 and they are completely different. Too long by two inches with a drawstring at the ankles, which if you don't use leaves the leg flapping around and if you do use ends up with a big loop hanging off the side of the cuff. Additionally, large pockets have been added to the front ruining what used to be a streamlined look with the older style. So for women with actual thighs the pockets only magnify them. Please go back to the old style with a regular cuff (no drawstring) and no big front pockets. And why are the lengths so inconsistent? Note that I bought this recent pair online so I couldn't clearly see these un-aesthetic changes until the pants arrived. Trying to make do with them but I think I'm going to give them away.

The material was fine. The color was as expected. The problem was the fit. We used to call it "hip hugger" and 40 years ago I could wear it with the best of them. But with my more mature figure of today, they are either too tight in the crouch or fall off my hips. They are all "favorite" fit or sit below the waist. I have looked all through LLBean's sales catalogues and have yet to find pants of this style in the "classic" fit or the one which sits above the waist. If you made them, I think lots of more mature women among us would grab them up. I would.

I like these pants for comfort and ease of movement. They look good, but they pill easily so their usefulness is limited. If I wear them for hiking or sports, it's not critical that they are pilled, but I wouldn't wear them for daily around town uses. I don't know why you can't solve the pilling issue.

I absolutely LOVE the fit of these pants. Comfortable and flattering. However, after owning several of these pants and the shorts, they pill terribly. I wash them inside out and even air dry, yet the material pills easily and they quite quickly look old and ratty.

I only wear high waisted pants so bought size 2X to ensure the pants have more rise area. This worked well. On the downside, the fabric is as thin as tissue paper and wish fabric was a little thicker. Inseam length made me laugh. I'm 5'6" but I think these pants would work better if I was 6' tall. I had to hem them 3 inches. Lastly, elastic drawstring at waist negates tightening the waist because it just stretches out anyway. I'll end with a positive: L.L.Bean makes quality clothing. I may not be a heavy shopper but this company is the place I shop first.

I purchased two pairs for work that requires us to wear pants year round outdoors. I've been wearing them for able a month. The fabric pills and snags easily. The aglet on the waist ties came off in the washer. They are very lightweight and breathable, but not durable.

I bought these a while ago and have worn them two times for light hiking in a park. I brushed against some flowers and the pants pilled and ruined the fabric. I stress that I was in a parklike setting with plants and flowers that did not have spikes on them. I can't imagine these pants hitting a rockface or rough bark and not splitting right through the material. They fit well and are light, but the fabric is too light for camping and hiking purposes and would be better suited for traveling in an airport or car. I would not repurchase them until the fabric is strenghthened.

Pros: lightweight, stretchy, nice pockets. Cons: SO light that every thing in your pocket shows and weighs your pants down! Wish they had a bit more cotton for structure and to keep the static down; socks rubbing, getting out of car, walking then pants are all staticky, clingy, look bad. The stretch waist is nice but the stretchy tie too? When I put phone in pocket it pulls pants down because the stretchy tie does nothing! Swapping useless stretchy tie out for something more substantial. An iPhone and these pants are mutually incompatible (phone just too heavy for this fabric!) Got the charcoal and olive green, nice colors, but would definitely NOT buy these pants again.

I had a drawerful of these as well as the lined winter version. Had my phone slide out and get dumped onto the pavement (as a passenger) or lost it in the car (as the driver) more times than I can even begin to count. Then I found a competitor who actually makes cargo pocket meant to accommodate phones! Like fully accommodate ~ with the phone never sliding out when knees are higher than one's bottom. I just moved and dumped all of these onto a friend who doesn't care about such things. Hard to imagine for me. Like ~ what exactly is the cargo pocket for, anyway? LL Bean has lost my summer and winter pants business ~ at least until they decide that even women deserve to keep their cells safe. (For the record, I have the smallest cell available ~ an iPhone SE which is the size of a 6.)

Recently purchased and washed before wearing. Came out of the washer damaged, not what you would expect from an $80 pants. Quality is going down on Llbean products.

Comfy pants but they started to pill and have some loose threads after wearing them on one trip.
