The pants are just what I need for my gardening. I have the slate gray. They washed great and the fit is true to size. I read the reviews beforehand and they are all accurate.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like these pants, they looked a little like pajamas when I first took them out of the bag. They look nice on and just FEEL like pajamas! I wore them on a long, hot walk and they were very breathable and comfortable and dried out quickly. They look nice enough for work too. Only one small thing, the drawstring is made of elastic so it's pretty much useless for securing the waist. I just tied it once and pull the pants on or off without undoing it.

These pants are fantastically comfortable, true to size (but then it's an elastic waistband with tie) and the length can be compensated for with the tie on the bottom of the legs as well. Without that pull-tie on the bottom, these would be extremely long and would require hemming. (Which I detest having to have done.)
LL Bean might consider having the pants come in "long", "short", and "medium" lengths like other outdoor-wear companies do for this reason. Meantime, the pull tie works.
My husband and I are setting off to walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain and I bought a second pair of these pants because these are exactly what I want for the trek comfortable, UPF worthy, easy to wash out and dry quickly. So light they pack easy and take up little space an important factor in packing for the Camino or any camping/trekking trip. Highly recommend.

I love these pants. They are so comfy and chic. Love the drawstrings on the bottom. They are the perfect weekend pant and will work great when we go to camp. I have the green currently but will definitely be buying the grey as well.

They fit great and are very comfortable. Just waiting for it to warm up here so I can wear them. They are a thin material, will be nice for warmer temps.

I bought these for a vacation and was so glad I did. They are the most comfortable pants I have and would have worn them every day if possible. They are lightweight, but still kept me warm when the weather cooled in the evening. Wash well with no shrinking. I only wish they were a little longer because I'm tall. I will probably buy more of these in different colors.

The pants are perfect for hiking in Florida when you don't want to load up on insect repellant. They are really lightweight so you don't roast and the cuffs have a drawstring so you can keep out the bugs. I do think the cargo pockets could be a bit larger but the zippered slash pockets are really nice for keeping things secure. I am a size 18 and the XL fits perfectly not too tight and not too billowy - just right!

Okay ... I bought these because I am the Diretor of a nonprofit in Indonesia that combats the illegal trade in critically endangered species of birds for 14 years. I hate most field pants. Fit is terrible, uncomfortable and made more for men than women. These pants rock! I bought them and wore them most recently on a trip to North Maluku and wanted to wear them every day. They are comfortable, light, and dry quickly. Will be buying more soon for next trips. For a day hike, camping or serious field research these are definitely the new go-to pants.
Love them!

I love, love, love these pants, and I now have them in all three colors. They are extremely well-made, super comfortable and flattering. I wear them everywhere...always get compliments. L.L. Bean, if you'll make them in a nice khaki color, I'll buy those, too!

I got these just before a 3 day trip hiking, eagle watching and the lodge at Starved Rock Park in IL.
These are now my fav travel/outdoor pants. They look great on, both on the trail, at the lodge restaurant or any other plans inside or out.
I'm 5'5" 145 lbs. the medium have plenty of room, the waist is maaaaybe a bit loose, but I don't think the small would be nearly as comfy. You can move on the trail and they feel good in the car for hours. They aren't just plain, and have good style. Very slimming as well. Another thing I liked , the length worked too.
I may just get another color - love these pants.

I was at the actual store and able to try these on. I never would have off the rack--they seemed non-descript, but I was looking for pants for a trip and these had good reviews.
The reviews are spot-on! SO SO SO comfortable. The material is light-weight, but not cheap-feeling. The pockets in the front ZIP so that I am not worried about change or my phone falling out. The waist band stays put.
The ability to cinch them at the bottom makes them look a little more on-trend. Two of my friends are now planning to order a pair after seeing mine.
Super cute. Super comfortable. Super functional. Great product.

I'm 5'8" and 135 lbs. I went with a Small after getting the garment measurements from a rep. However, they were still a little big in the waist and there was a LOT of leftover room in the rear (I have a 28" waist and, sadly, no behind). I ended up exchanging them for an XS and they fit perfectly. The material is great--really soft and comfortable. I tried them on and ended up lounging around in them the rest of the night without even bothering to take the tags off. I will say that they are NOT 31" long--maybe 30.5". Doesn't sound like much, but an extra 1/2 inch can make a difference in a hem. The good news is, they actually look better cinched and so the missing length isn't as noticeable. I got the gray. I wish they also came in khaki!

Bought one pair in a retail store, and then ordered a second pair. I wear them all of the time, even to work. They are simply my favorites. You need to make them in several other colors. Some of us wear them in places other than a campsite!

I just received this in the mail today and fell in love the second I tried them on! I am 5'4" and a size 14 and the Large fit great. I am pear-shaped and easily worked with my shape.
My only warning is for the taller ladies. The regular length fits me perfectly. So if you're above say 5'6", I'd opt for tall length.

I was thrilled with these when I tried them on. So lightweight and comfortable. Wore them hiking in fall weather and they were perfect. I was pleasantly surprised that they fit my waist as I don't like low rise pants and have a difficult time finding something that doesn't fall down. The drawstring at the hem was great too as they were a bit too long (I'm 5'1") but that took care of that. I will likely buy another in a different color if I can.

These are the most comfortable pair of pants I have ever owned. I bought 2 pairs to take on a trip. I wanted to pack light and these are like packing air. I was able to strictly do a carry-on because these pants can be hand washed and hung to dry and are ready to wear again the next day. I just ordered the last color. They have a sleek fit and a nice high waistline so they don't pull up in the crotch which made them amazingly comfortable to wear on a long trip. I tried lots of other hiking/travel pants before finding these and none of them compare. Great pants.

Got these for a 10 day camping trip this summer. They were great for hot weather, quick drying, easy to roll up for wading or cinch at the ankles for hiking in brush. Ordered a 2nd pair after we got back. They look good enough for running errands around town. Will be looking forward to next summer when I can wear them again!

These pants are great for travel because they are light and have zippered pockets. They wash well and can be hung to dry. The gathers around the ankles are handy for keeping bugs out. This is the third pair that I have bought, all in different colors. I did go and purchase a pair of those cord holder toggles to keep the elastics tight.
Highly recommend!

Finally, hiking pants that fit well and look fabulous. I definitely need to lose some weight around the middle, and most slacks are too tight on the waist, or if the waist fits, the pant legs end up too wide and baggy. These Vista Camp pants fit beautifully and are stylish enough to wear as everyday slacks. I've already worn them hiking on a warm day (mid 80's) and they were perfect. I initially purchased the dusty olive which is a beautiful bluish-green. I've since purchased the black and the granite. Now I see there is a new color (sandstone), so I plan to buy that as well. They fit so beautifully. They are great for warm or hot weather, but if it's cooler out, I can always wear silk long johns underneath. I do a lot of traveling and they will be perfect in summer weather for walking tours and bicycle riding.

I bought these in black and they're one of the best pairs of pants I own. I am so happy I purchased them. I'm thinking of getting another pair of black and one of the olive green. They're so comfortable. They are great for walking and hiking since the stretch and don't pinch your skin. They have zipper pockets and side pockets that button on the sides so there is a lot of storage. The bottom of these pants have a drawstring-type mechanism that allow the pants to cinch at bottom. Great for walking through wooded areas if you're worried about ticks and also great if you have to go into a restroom or port-o-potty that isn't clean and you don't want your pants touching the ground.
These are definitely worth the price. They wash up like a dream and if you get the black they can even pass as pants you could wear to the office with some shoes and a dressy top. I have had to wear these to work a couple times the last couple weeks as I'm dealing with hives and these are loose fitting and helping the hives on my legs.

Thank you, L.L. Bean, for these wonderful pants! You got it exactly right. As a plus-size woman (190 lbs and 5 feet tall), it's been both frustrating and depressing trying to find a pair of hiking pants that fit right and don't make me look like I have two Redwood trees as legs! I was at the new Bean store here in Michigan today and tried these on, fully expecting to again be frustrated and depressed. But the XL fit me perfectly!! They are roomy without being sloppy. The material is light and as comfortable as a pair of pajama bottoms. And I don't look like I'm walking around on tree trunks! They are about 4 inches too long but the draw tabs at the ankles take care of that; they are fine with my hiking boots. The elastic waist will be more comfortable while wearing a pack, than would a regular waist with belt loops. Now I can hit the trails again and start getting in shape and losing weight. Very very happy with these pants!
