I read the reviews and ordered a Small; I would normally have bought a Medium, because I like my clothes to fit loosely. I am 5'4", 116 pounds, but those pounds have redistributed themselves as I have aged. When these arrived, I resisted trying them on, sure that the Small would be tight. But NO! They fit perfectly, slightly loose but still flattering. The elasticized waist was loose enough and with the ties, could be made smaller if/when the elastic deteriorates. I had been thinking of buying some nice, comfortable scrubs, but these are so much better. Lots of pockets, zip or button, for when I walk my dog. The ties at the ankle will be helpful, in case I wear flat shoes (and to keep creepy-crawly things away from my tasty legs!). And they're light-weight enough that I'll be able to wear them in hot weather. I have not yet washed them but I'm pretty certain they'll do fine, as all my other LL Bean clothing has. I guess my only complaint is that they don't come in other colors. Khaki, blue, brown, white? I already have acceptable black pants, and I'm not crazy about the green color offered.

I get tired of wearing jeans every weekend, and wanted something more lightweight and comfortable for casual wear. These are perfect. I wear a size 6 in pants and bought the small. Like others, I initially thought them to run large and almost sent them back. I'm glad I didn't. After a few wash and tumble dry cycles, they shrank enough to make them less sloppy and more true to size. I would caution against sizing down unless you intend on line drying them.

My favorite pair of pants I own. I bought these for a hiking trip in Utah and lived in them all week. During cool morning hikes I wore them over my shorts and they were great. Now being home, I still live in them from day to day because they are so comfortable. In my opinion they are more comfortable than leggings! I usually wear an XS but got the small just to be cozier and they are perfect. Just ordered my second pair in the green! They wash great, no fuss. Buy these!!

Absolutely comfortable!!! VERY well made! Runs big. Others have said it and it's true. Order a size down! I'm 5'4", 125lb.Usually a small from Bean. Ordered small and sent them back for XS. These pants stretch and move with you. Even when you squat and bend. You could wear them for yoga! The waist is all elastic, even the draw-cord! No need to untie to remove them. Very light weight, but they are nylon so probably not going to be good for hot days. But I don't wear long pants when it's hot anyway. I've been wearing them indoors and I'm totally in love. I've ordered each color! The cut is flattering, not baggy. I think they make me look slimmer. I'd give them 6 stars if I could!

Just got these yesterday via online, and already love them! Nice weight and fabric. I'm 5'7" on the slim side, and the Medium fit fine, although the waist is a bit lose even with the drawstring. The length is good, too, with or without the drawstring on the legs. I got the granite color but just ordered the dusty olive since there is a sale going on. A navy color in these would be nice.

I too love these pants, I just ordered my third pair. Comfortable yet decent enough to wear into town. The drawstrings on the bottom of each pant-leg are a bonus, I can wander around the yard with ankles protected (I hope) from dastardly ticks. I would love to see this style (with drawstrings) in a warmer fabric.

Possibly the greatest pants in the history of pants. You could sleep in them, hike in them, work in them, go out to dinner in them, possibly even go to church in them (ok, that may be just me, but seriously, I probably will do this). I did take out the drawstring, because why do they think women want to tie little bows at their waistlines? But no big deal--it was easy to pull out and cut off. I may have to buy extras pairs of these in case they ever stop making them. Which I hope they never will, as I intend to recommend them to everyone I know.

These are the greatest travel pants ever: comfortable, quick drying, takes up little room and zippered pockets. Please please please get more petite small !!!!

These are super. Lightweight, but with a tight weave, so they aren't chilly. I paid attention to the reviews that said these ran a bit large. True. I'm 5'4", 120 lbs and ordered an XS based on reviews. Fits perfectly, and the 31" inseam is great. Not highwater. I wore these into town for a casual lunch date today. Did some shopping afterwards, in and out of the car. Comfortable, easy, cute, lightweight, and non binding waist. These are pull on, no zipper. I ordered the olive and will be getting them in granite next. Highly recommend.

They are seriously the most comfortable pants I have ever put on my body. I immediately came back to order another pair after receiving my order in the mail & trying them on. I am 5'4" & 115 pounds and went with the petite small. I probably could have gone with the petite XS, but prefer my pants a bit on the looser side. I LOVE these pants!!!

These will be my "go to" pants for knocking about. Love the style, comfort, color, fit, everything! I agree with "just your average Jane" from Maryland that the exact same style in a little heavier fabric for winter would be a great idea. I'm 5'6" and 122 pounds and the small fit nicely - roomy, but that's the way I like pants to fit.

I often have trouble finding pants that fit because I'm short-waisted, with a larger waist and thin legs (I'm 5'4" and about 165 lbs). I'm really happy with these pants - the length is just about perfect - I often have to have pants shortened if they fit in the waist, but these are fine. The material is incredibly light and the elastic waist is not binding at all. My one slight criticism is that I don't really like the elastic at the hems; I guess the idea is that you pull it and then somehow tie it to make the pants shorter, but to me it just looks messy. But I don't really feel the need to make these shorter so it's not a big deal. I'm hoping that LLBean will offer similar pants in a heavier fabric so I can wear them all winter!

FINALLY!! A pair of petite length pants that actually fit, well almost, but closer than the competition. I am 5'1" and wear Petite Short in pants when I can find them. I could not believe when I put them on that they were only about 2" too long. BUT the awesome thing is that the drawstring on the cuffs means I can pull the leg tight enough against my boots that they do not sag below my feet. I bought these for my upcoming trip to Ireland and am so pleased I am getting a second pair today. They are soft, they are not too baggy like so many other pants this style. I am 170 curvy pounds and was surprised that I was able to wear a size M. I will be wearing these both around Dublin as well as in West Cork hiking on the penisulas. Thank you. Please make more colors preferably some lighter colors since the three you have are all dark. I am looking for a sand/stone/light khaki. Something to wear in hot weather that will reflect and not absorb the sun.

Please make these pants in every color known to man. The most comfortable pants I have ever worn. Truly wash and wear. LOVE THEM. Now more colors?????? And maybe the exact same style in a slightly heavier fabric for winter??? Thanks.

I never thought I would ever find the perfect pants but these are it. They are so very comfortable and I love the petite length so I don't have to take several inches off the bottom. I wish they had my size in the other colours when I bought them yesterday while visiting Chicago, because I could literally live in these all day every day. I am going to have to buy them online. I should have bought a size lower because they will stretch but still love, love, love them.

I have never spent this much on pants in my life, but they looked comfy and loved the pockets and the ankle ties. So, I walked on the wild side and ordered one in each color. They couldn't be better! I live in them. They are so attractive, not baggy. They would be appropriate in many occasions, not just hiking and camping. The fabric is so light and airy but I don't freeze in them. The fabric isn't at all "noisy" like some nylon clothes they used to use for workout/running outfits back in the day. The waist is like a dream. I can wear these pants ALL DAY, comfortably. The rise is perfect. I got an X-Small not knowing what to expect as I am a 4 sometimes and a 6 other times. I got a regular "small" for comparison. "Small" was way big all over and too long, so I kept all three of the extra-smalls. They fit not loosely, but follow my shape without a ton of extra cloth. I don't have any regrets at having spent what I did for these pants. They are worth every cent!

These are a perfect fit for me in a medium. I am narrow through the hips, and I do not like things to be tight in the waist, so fit is a problem.These pants are perfect. They drape nicely so they don't look too casual, and I like all the pockets. They wash well, though they will pill if they are washed with something like towels that give off lint - easy to avoid. The fit is such that I think I can wear lightweight long underwear with them in colder weather, though I would love to see them in a heavier fabric also, as long as the waistband is not stiff, as could happen with a heavier fabric. Please, please make them in more colors, starting with blue - maybe marine blue or bright navy.

these pants are so comfortable and lightweight.....absolutely love them. Fit perfectly. Wash and wear. I have not had problems with pilling (as someone previously reported). Now if they will just come in some other colors (I already have all three available). Maybe a heavier weight in the same pant for fall/winter? Most comfortable pants I have worn in a long time. I've never written a review of a clothing item, but these pants are so fabulous I just had to share my opinion. I have all 3 colors and ordered a size medium. I'm 5'5", and am a muscular 135 lbs. I have a relatively small waist but am a medium size in the hips and thighs, so I ordered a medium. I prefer my clothes to be a little on the loose side. The elastic drawstring allows me to cinch the waist so that it is a perfect fit. The waist is really comfortable; it's very soft and stretchy. The fabric is light, which is great for hot days. These pants can be super casual, worn with sneakers or flat sandals. But they can look more dressy when worn with ankle boots or a dressier sandal. I've gotten many complements on these pants. BUY THESE PANTS; YOU WILL LOVE THEM, TOO!

Loving these pants. Fabric is light weight - plenty of pockets. The legs are long but look good open or pulled in. I am 122 lbs, 5'5" & surprisingly am wearing an extra small. I'm glad I bought these in your retail store where I tried them on - would have had to return the small size.

Love these pants. They run a little large, which is always a bonus in my opinion. The fabric is dreamy - light and comfortable. Just ordered two more in the other color choices.

I am crazy about these pants because they have elastic ankle ties and look like harem pants. They look like "cargo pants" and I wear them out for casual wear. The weight is so light they are perfect for very hot weather but you get coverage. I am going to start hiking in them. I wish they came in a heavier style for hiking to protect legs from brush. Look great with boho, southwest, and country accessories. They run big. I ordered an extra small petite and I'm 5'3" weight 110 lbs. OK - had to send the small back. Wash beautifully. Would be great for backpacking, too.

Tried on a pair at the store in Rochester after the Bean person told me they are really comfortable. Comfort is OMG level and I'm highish waisted. The most attractive pants I've found in this category, too. I like quick drying and UPF features as I like to be outdoors and often travel. Also helps keep you cool.

Going by the size chart, these run large. For reference: I'm 5'6" tall, 124 pounds, my hips measure 38 inches, and my waist is 27 inches. According to the size chart, I'd wear a small, so I ordered the small. It was WAY too big! I exchanged for the extra small and they are perfect with plenty of room to move around -- not even remotely tight. The pants (in the right size) are really flattering and seem durable, despite being really lightweight and breathable. I love the drawstring cuffs and stretchy material. The grey was exactly like the image on the website. They're great -- I may buy more colors, which is not something I normally do...

I love these pants, and have all three colors. I wish they came in a dark blue! Medium works well for me. The waist is generous and has some give to it. The pants hang nicely. They are casual, but I also have worn them with denim jackets and even a blazed. They are versatile!
