Lightweight, great for camping and hiking. Takes up minimal space in my bag.

Light weight making for comfort and easy packing/travel. Small amount of elastic in waist would add to active comfort.

I love these shorts - the fabric, style, functionality, coolness. Just 2 things I don't like - they are a little too long, they would be better at 8". And I really don't like the color choices. I ordered them in sandstone - it is really more brown than sandstone. They would be perfect in a few more color options, especially lighter color options.

I bought these shorts for a trip to Africa (need khaki and light weight stuff). The fabric is very comfortable, with a nice (not too much) amount of stretch and the waist band liner is soft. They dry very quickly and are very light. I wish LL Bean had the pants like them in medium tall, as I would definitely buy a pair!

I love the lightweight material but they run a little small. I ordered a size 14 which is what I normally wear but these shorts were quite snug. I sent them back and ordered size 16 because I really would like to have a pair for hiking. I live in Texas and this fabric is perfect for our climate and outdoor activities.

These shorts have a better fit and more features than the comfort short. Overall I would say that they are an improvement with the same light weight, quick drying, easily packable qualities of the comfort short.

I purchased these for our Spring Break hiking trip. I was surprised at how lightweight they look and feel, but are actually quite tough. We were scrambling over rocks and rough trail but they held up quite well with no scuff marks from the rocks or brambles. The waist is very comfortable and the leg pockets are large enough to hold a phone or a small camera.

I got these in a sz 4. I could pull them off without unfastening. Pockets too small for phone. Returned.

I loved the material and inseam length of these shorts but the waist was way too big. I normally wear a size 22 in most LLBean pants, but these fit like a size 24. I

Love the style and comfort but the shorts started pulling after one wash.

I ordered the same size of shorts that I always do (and my weight and body proportions have not changed), and these shorts were noticeably looser around the waist than I expected. Not quite enough to send them back, but I won't be ordering them again.

Not true to size. They did not fit me in my normal size

The shorts are way too big, at least a size or two bigger than what I expected.

While these are very comfortable you can easily sweat through them (especially in the lighter teal I ordered them in) - so beware.

These shorts were way too long on me. I loved the material and for except for the length. I thought about taking them to the tailor but the pockets would have had to be moved.

Bought 2 pair of size 10. One in blue one in tan. The blue fit perfectly but tan were too small. No quality control

Need a slim body. Not curvy. I'm curvy and have kept them. I don't feel relaxed but wore them. Weird color. Doesn't go with normal greens

Liked the style but not the fabric. Would be great in a fabric with more cotton.

I love the length and fit of these. Unfortunately, the area where my thighs rub together has started to pill. I'm not sure why it's a different material than the rest of the shorts!

Light weight, which is nice, and good pockets. Negative is the shorts tend to cling to your body in the heat.

Very Comfortable. Relaxed Fitstretch out so if you can go down in waistit helps. Mature, 5'2", 140. Size Reg. 10 or 12. Easy Care!

If you want a very lightweight, comfortable short, these fit the bill. But you'll need something more durable for hikes where you might encounter brambles and pokey shrubbery. They are just fine for walking the dog around the neighborhood, but I need to keep the cat off my lap because his claws snag the material. Fit is true to size. I'm 5'7" 130lbs and got size 8 because I like my shorts roomy. I probably could have bought size 6 and they would look better but the 8 is very comfortable.

Love these shorts. There what I have been looking for.lightweight with lots of pockets.the fit is perfect aand they are so comfortable .they are my favorite shorts .

I have these shorts in size 6 black from last year. I bought a gray and a tan this year because I like the style so much. The tan size 6 is way bigger than the grey or black. I ordered a new pair in 6 and one in 4 in case the pair I had was just mis-cut. The size 4 tan fits like a size 6.
