I hate these sheets. I don't even own them; I'm trying to sleep on them in my parents' guest bedroom and they're so uncomfortable that I ferreted out the tag because I thought they might be polyester (which didn't sound like my parents, but I wondered if things had slid that far). Turns out they are L.L.Bean. They are somehow simultaneously smooth and rough, heavy, stiff, and hot. Like other reviewers said, they feel oddly like polyester. I would guess that there is some kind of weird finish on them (would love to know if this is true). Two stars instead of one because they look nice (saturated light blue color).

I bought these expensive sheets because I had read that they were amazing. I found them scratchy even after several washes. I think of percale as feeling smooth and cool. Disappointed.

The sheets are rough to the touch and slick as if they have a coating on them. They're also overly large. They hang down below our oversized king mattress. We'll keep them, but not thrilled with them.

the set I purchased in 2018 was perfect. This set does NOT fit. it is too large. the fitted part is sloppy on the bed, the sheet is about 10 or 12 inches too wide. And the material is lighter.

They're fine sheets. But they aren't worth the premium price. I can't tell much, if any, difference between these sheets and the cheap ones I used before. Plus, they were out of stock and I had to wait a couple of months for delivery. Your experience may differ.

I have been buying sheets from LL Bean for over 10 years and have always loved them. These are not the same sheets at all from years past. These are in fact quite inferior. The older 280 thread count sheets were soft, comfortable and washed well and were made in Portugal. The current 280 thread count sheets have a silky feel at first as if they have been sprayed with something and then after washing are very scratchy. No way I want my face on that scratchy pillowcase. These current ones are made in China and clearly the fabric used is not the same. I will need to look elsewhere for sheets now.

Scratchy and overpriced. But generously cut to fit tall mattresses.

Not exactly what I expected. The percale sheet is great for sleeping cool. It must be the lower thread count that makes the sheets feel too slippery and not breathable.

I'm not happy with the Pima Cotton Percale sheet set that I bought from Ll Bean. They feel stiff -- not soft. Maybe that's the way Percale sheets are. The fitted sheet is for a Mattress 2 1/2 feet thick or so. I realize the yuppies have to have a real thick mattress where you need a ladder to get into bed. My mattress is very thick but not like the ones on the market now. Ridiculous. Trendiness rules the world.

Color is not my style and doesn't look like the website. And LL Bean deducted return shipping even though color isn't as shown. Annoying.

As many have mentioned, the fitted sheet is exceptionally large. That I could have gotten past. However, when I washed the sheets before putting them on the bed, there was enough "lint" in the washing machine to fill the palm of my hand. Is that normal? I don't think so. When I dried them, same thing, the lint screen was filled with the blue lint. Should sheets shed like this? I have never had that happen before. But, they are washed and now on my guest bed. I guess I'll see what happens the next time they are washed. I am not pleased at the moment.

These are well made and hold up wash and after wash. Unfortunately they are too big for my queen mattress and pucker and roll up. And they are rough and scratchy. I bought these on recommendation of Wirecutter for summer cool sheets, but these were not to my satisfaction. Do not buy these as summer sheets that touch directly to your skin. These might work for winter when you are wearing long pjs that protect your skin from these sheets

We like the fabric. It is smooth and pleasing. But the sheets are WAY too big for our Queen sized Leesa Original mattress.

I bought these sheets in 2018. I should have returned them as soon as I got them - they are scratchy and feel cheap and polyester-y, like a rental tablecloth at a wedding reception. I thought maybe they would soften up with washing, but four years later, no such luck. Every time I put them on the bed I feel sad. On the plus side, they have held their color beautifully and don't wrinkle, but I'd rather have comfy soft wrinkled sheets than these icky scratchy ones.

While the sheets are crisp, I do not find that they are especially cooling and the pillowcases feel rough to my skin. I am considering returning them for this reason.

I'm disappointed with the quality. I washed the sheets before putting them on the bed but they still have a slippery, synthetic feel to them. I am not sure if it is the weave or they are treated with something. Also a bit scratchy and warm.

Purchased LLBean's and Wirecutter's top rated percale sheets. Washed the sheets before first use and noticed that the top-sheet had 5 tears along the same horizontal line. This sounds like a defect in the manufacturing process, and I would be wary of buying these.

I was excited to try these sheets considering the reviews. I washed mine when I got them and slept on them for 5 nights. The top sheet was nice but the fitted sheet was awful. So uncomfortable and scratchy. I returned them today.

I ordered the sheet set in the king size. This would have been the third set of sheets for me from LL Bean, the other two sets having lasted many years. However, this king set came with two king-size pillow cases to be used with king-size pillows. I do not have king-size pillows. I have standard-size pillows (3 for a king-size bed). I realized after opening the package that they were the wrong size for me. I called Customer Service to ask if I could switch them for standard pillow cases. The answer was, "Sorry, but no. You can purchase standard pillow cases separately." I think one should be given a choice of pillow case size when ordering.

Very comfortable, but the fitted sheet ripped in multiple places after just 2 years. For the price I paid, I expect them to last longer.

For myself, I prefer a sheet with a stiffer hand. They come in nice colors and there is plenty of fabric allowed for a good fit on deep mattresses. Detailing is nice. I just don't care for slippery sheets. These are not sateen but they are rather slippery.

I will be returning these sheets as they were very thin for the cost.

Very disappointed in these sheets. They are good quality, well made but feel tough when you sleep on them. Also they seem 'baggy', almost too big for my king. I washed/dried according to instructions, but they still feel like sleeping on sandpaper. Unfortunately I cannot return after washing.

Loved the color but not the feel of the fabric. Doesn't seem like true Pima percale. My old sheets are better. I've returned these. Not worth the price.

Have bought these sheets several times over the years, but unfortunately the last set was not up to the traditional quality. The elastic, particularly, seems smaller and weaker. Photo showing the elastic.
