These turned out to be a lot thinner than I expected and they are wrinkly. We were looking for something for winter and will have to use them for summer.

The fabric felt too slippery. Laundering might have helped but then we couldn't have returned it.
So we did return the sheets.

These are fine, but I won't buy another set. I had high expectations considering how much I like their flannel sheets.

We purchased this 280-Thread-Count Pima Cotton Percale Sheet Set on March 4, 2023. In August 2024 (about 1718 months later), the flat sheet developed a tear near the edge, and L.L.Bean replaced the entire set.
The replacement set unfortunately followed a very similar pattern. Around November/December 2025, the flat sheet began tearing in nearly the same area. Rather than go through another full return process at that time, we purchased a replacement flat sheet at the end of January 2026.
Within a week of replacing the flat sheet, the fitted sheet from the replacement set developed multiple tears several feet into the body of the fabric not at the corners or elastic.
The sheets fit our mattress properly and were washed weekly in warm water and dried on normal heat, separately from other laundry.
We really like the crisp percale feel, but after two sets showing similar durability issues within roughly 18 months of use, long-term wear is a concern. L.L.Bean allowed us to return the set for a refund and apply a 10% discount toward upgrading to their Egyptian Percale collection, which we appreciated.

The feel of these sheets are nice but not as crisp as the description. The fit is awful the skinny strip of elastic results in loose sloppy sheets after one nights sleep. I find myself changing the bed a couple of times a week to have smooth snug fitting sheets. I would understand if I wasn't the only person in the bed.
I have held off sending this review but I am disappointed and suspect I will be returning the unopened set and moving the open set to the guest room.
Back to my search for the Wamsutta crisp percal cotton sheets I could purchase from Bed Bath and Beyond.

I'm a bit disappointed in these sheets for the price I paid. They're thin, wrinkle more than advertised and are not soft even after washing. I would not buy this product again. I was more pleased with a set of hotel sheets I purchased from Sam's.

I was trying to get some nice sheets that feel good against my skin. I am not a sheets afficionado. Most of my sheet sets have been received as gifts. So I did some research before buying. Sheets are ridiculously expensive! I thought I had made a mid-range choice that I would be happy with, but I'm not really. I didn't expect them to feel so "papery". They even sound papery when I move. If I have to buy sheets again, I know what NOT to buy. I am holding out hope that these will soften over time.

I love the sheets, but they're really big. I ordered a queen size and they are super big on my queen size mattress.

We have a 10 inch mattress and the top and bottom sheets are too large for our mattress. I prefer a really crisp percale sheet - these are too soft for us.

The cotton is not very nice. It is a bit scratchy. Other than that, the sizing of the fitted sheet is not stingy which is good. The pillowcases are also ample.

I bought these last month based on NYT Wirecutter reviews. I washed and was disappointed they weren't as soft as I expected. I'll revert back to Hotel Sheets Direct 100% Viscose Derived from Bamboo, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified bed sheets

I put these on my bed and thought I didn't have the right side matched up for the mattress. The mattress sheet was HUGE! Our bed is a queen. Pretty sure it wouldn't have fit a King; regardless, it was oversized. I was unimpressed with the stitching as well. Soft as they were, I marched them back to the store!

I still love the fabric, the feel great. Crisp and soft after a single washing. However, we got a king size mattress so I had to replace my 7 year old ll!bean pin a cotton percale sheets. The elastic in these is horrible. It does not hold the fitted sheet in place. Just not a good snug fit. The sheets shifts around and wrinkle horribly. I can't stand it. I've tried using these 4 different times and just can't stand i. Sadly, will have to not use them.

I was searching for crisp percale sheets. The fabric is nice, but not the crisp that I was looking for. The fit is way too big & sloppy. We have a 3 year old king mattress set; I ordered size king. The bottom sheet is so oversized, it does not provide the taut fit that I prefer, stuffing extra corner & side fabric under the mattress. The top sheet is also generous, which is OK to be generous, but it's the darn bottom sheet that I'm really disappointed in for the price & quality that I've come to expect from LL Bean.

Like others have reported, the fitted sheet does not fit the mattress. It's sloppy and requires retucking every night. Our mattress is a 14" thick hybrid spring memory foam Sealy mattress. Pretty standard size. We're disappointed. The cotton material is nice but the sheets are very disappointing. We've become increasingly disenchanted with the L.L.Bean. it seems another example of a slippage in quality.

Especially matching color for Separate King Pillow Cases.

I am very disappointed in the color of my pastel mint sheets. They are more of a gray color. However, I can say the quality of the sheets are very nice. I wish you could get a sample of the colors before buying

I researched several different sheet sets and purchased these because of several high reviews, even though they were more expensive than I planned. First of all, they are too large. We have a thick mattress but the fitted sheet is too big and the top sheet is super long! The weirdest thing is they seem noisy to us! Hard to describe but we don't like them. Hoping over time that will improve!

My wife and I were very pleased with two sets of flannel sheets from L.L. Bean so we thought we would try these sheets for warmer weather. They are nice and comfortable but they do not seem to be worth anywhere near the price. In our opinion, not a whole lot better than box store sheets that are half the price. One nice aspect of these is that are large enough to fit well over a very thick mattress.

Absolutely love the feel. Expected a different class of sheet end of pillows cases not enclosed top bottom side written on the sheet I expected elegance for the price but did perform with overall feel.

My wife and I purchased these sheets after purchasing a flannel sheet set last winter and being very pleased with them. We were hoping for the same with these sheets but are disappointed. The sheets are comfortable and fit well but after using them for a month or so we do not feel like they are anywhere near worth what we paid and are disappointed as they don't seem to be much more comfortable than a standard much more affordable set from the box store.

I ordered these based on the Wirecutter review. I've been sleeping on 100% cotton sheets my entire life and these have an odd feel to them, almost slick, even after several washings. They also sleep hot (very noticeable compared to the set we used right before them) and are very large/deep so don't fit smoothly on the bed. They almost don't seem like they're really 100 percent cotton, as water beads up on them for a while before soaking in, unlike other percale sheets I have. Maybe it's just a very tight weave but between the slick feel and the lack of breathability I will be returning these. Some positive notes: If you have a very deep mattress they would probably fit well. It's helpful when making up the bed that the short end on the contour sheet is clearly marked, and the hemstitch detail. is attractive.

We purchased both a King and a Queen sheets for our room and guest room. The percale fabric is nice, but sizing for both is too generous. The fitted sheets are very sloppy and the top sheets are about 6-8 inches too wide for both our standard sized King and Queen beds.

I bought a set of ll bean percale sheets 15 years ago that were absolutely amazing. Like, you want to get in bed and never leave amazing. These sheets are nothing like those sheets. They are not thick, crisp or cool in my opinion. It has become impossible to find good sheets anymore, I thought for sure that ll bean would be the place to find the best sheets based on my previous experience with them, but I found these sheet to be disappointing.

I love the sheets, having ordered them before, but this time the top sheet came with a cut about 1 inch or so long on the top sheet. I have returned it and am waiting for a replacement.
