The left shoe was extremely uncomfortable. The stitching was very rough on the inside of the left shoe . I returned for exchange. I hope the replacements are better quality.

New Sole material is a significant downgrade -- no longer useful as a deck shoe. The soles quickly became hard, brittle and slippery. Eventually it began to break off in pieces.

I've had several pairs of LL Bean boat shoes over the years (among pairs made by another well known manucatuer). The most recent pair I've had from Beans (about a year old) are a marked step down in quality from years past. The sole material appears to be changed and (without any unusual use or chemical exposure) has become stiff and downright dangerous for its intended marine application: on any surface other than dry pavement you feel like you are standing on ice! Also, concur with other reviews that the stitching is 'sharp' (around the cuff).

I have purchasing this shoe for the last 30 years. They were always made in Maine. My most recent purchase were EL Salvador. They are not L L Bean quality. Why did you ruin a good thing?

This shoe is not suitable for sailing as it has a very poor grip as opposed to the LL Bean camp moc, which I also own, which has a much better sole for boating.

The smaller width is too loose in the heel. The box is fine but it slips on the foot because it is so loose. Guess my foot is too narrow.

I purchased these Boat Shoes and was very disappointed. Poor fit, the right shoe was tight the left shoe was so tigh that t I had to force it on my foot with a shoe horn. I've bought other mocs from LL Bean and they fit perfectly! Unfortunately i did not try them on for a month. Had a medical problem. To late to return and discarded the box and papers, so I discarded them. I learned a lesson. LL Bean's quality has gone down.

Bought my latest pair of shoes about three years ago and the stitching on the soles at the toe is worn away, which causes water to enter even with small amounts of rain on the ground. The earlier model has much thicker, better constructed soles and lasted for years. This model does not meet the LL Bean quality I've come to expect.

The wide size (10 1/2) that I ordered were too tight and short and the Freeport store did not have my size. I was told the new shipment had not yet arrived.

These shoes seem like a cheap imitation of a vsry similar version put out by Bass. Although they are on my feet now, probably wont buy them again.

Terrible fit once I put them on, bulged in some areas and appear to be poorly made. Not what I was hoping for nor expecting. Back they go.

I purchased this shoe a year ago. It fit great and I was very pleased with it initially. However, over the period I've worn it, the composition of the shoe's sole has aged or transformed from a pliable, gripping type of sole to a hardened, slick (non-gripping) type of sole. This transformation results in the shoe slipping unexpectedly and can potentially result in falls and injury.. I have purchased many L.L.Bean products over the years and have rarely been disappointed. This is the first negative review I've given one of the Bean products. I consider this shoe a hazard to consumers and urge Bean to evaluate the use of another type of sole for it. I'll be happy to return the ones I purchased to L.L.Bean for evaluation with no expectation of replacement. Buyers beware should you consider purchasing this shoe.

This is my 5th pair of these boat Mocs. Obviously I'm a big fan of them. Usually they are very comfortable right out of the box. But this pair is very uncomfortable. I kept thinking they need to be broke in but that's not it. I don't know if the construction of the Moc has been changed or not but they are definately not the same.

The shoes were defective. The leather tongue was not tanned on the inside and about 1/4" on the outside was not tanned, giving the shoes a weird white stripe. I
went through customer service and got another pair WITH THE SAME DEFECT !!!
I sent a photo to customer service and was told they could only give me a refund,
not guarantee good shoes ! I love LL Bean, but this was VERY BAD

I've had these shoes for about a year. These are the most uncomfortable boat shoes I have ever had (and I've worn many over the years). They lack comfort all over and have little support in the forefoot. For years I wore a competing brand but decided to try Beans again. Mistake. Waste of $$.

I have bought similar products in the past with no issue. The first time I purchased these this year the standard 9.5 med I usually purchase was too narrow. Figured I would return and re-order wide size. Those were too short and extremely uncomfortable on width. Just do not fit my foot. I am trying to break them in. Who knows.

Sadly, I can not recommend these to anyone! When compared to my well worn out Boat Mocs these don't compare. Simply stated it is the quality of the leather, poor. I'm afraid to get these wet lest the crack and fall apart.
Being a Bean customer for 50+ years these Mocs are one of the very few disappointments I've purchased.
