Have three pair. Oldest the best. Since buying 'offshore' quality has suffered.
TOO MANY IMPORTS....FROM ONE OF THE GREATEST COMPANIES OF ALL TIME.

These are handsome shoes but the sole is way too thin. We'd purchased a similar pair of shoes from LLBean about 5 years ago and they had a nice thick sole but this new shoe did not. For that reason we returned them.

Lightweight shoes not really suitable as 'deck shoes' only as knock abouts.

I have been buying and wearing LL Bean shoes for many years. They have always run true to size and fit my feet just right. I also have BIG (14EE) feet, and find very little selection in local stores. LLBean has been my go-to brand.
These shoes were nice looking and well made, but they were HUGE! I then ordered a size 13EE, and even they are a bit loose, but wearable.
Strongly recommend that you order a size down.

This shoe has the same number as its predecessor but it's not the same deck shoe that one wears aboard a boat or at least a boat under 150 ft.. This new version is not as flexible as the old one and the leather does not like salt water. Please go back to your old vendor and bring back your knock about deck shoe...

Well constructed shoe with very good leather & sole; the issue, it is very bulky. A "boat" shoe needs to be nimble, dare I say like the original created by your competitor many decades ago.

Finally wore out a pair of LL Bean boat shoes and looked to buy a new pair. Found the finish on the leather to be lacking, interior sole and leather less comfortable and grip sole inferior to my previous pair. Overall I would rate the product as 'fair' at best.

While these shoes look great, they are too wide--definitely not "Medium D". They can be improved by pulling the excellent rawhide laces very tight, but they still don't fit well. Beyond that, the soles are unlike any LL Bean footwear I've owned, offering virtually no support and allowing every bump or pebble to make its presence known. I have quite literally had LL Bean slippers with better soles. This will be the first time I've ever returned a product to LL Bean after wearing it for several days, but these shoes, sadly, won't do.

I've had these shoes for a little over a year, and I only wear then during the spring and summer, so around 5 months of wear. At first I loved them, but when I pulled them out for this season the soles had gone completely hard hard and became dangerously slick (they slid out from under me twice on a set of stairs, and I haven't fallen on stairs in over 30 years - including all last season when I wore them). I understand shoes have a "shelf life," but these didn't even last a year. When I reached out to customer service, I was told I was 4 weeks outside of the guaranteed return window, and was told I would have to pay to send them back to be evaluated. Not the LL Bean I grew up with and trusted. I wish I would have bought the other brand, because even though all shoe soles will harden, at least I know I will get 3 or 4 seasons out of them, and not just 5 months.

The gather or pucker along the seam was way too pronounced on one of these shoes. It ran almost the whole way to the sole about 3/4 of the way around the shoe. In addition, the Medium width was wider than it should have been, especially in a shoe that is bound to stretch. Based on earlier experiences, I'm concerned about quality control at LL Bean's shoe departmentsizing seems off and the workmanship isn't up to standard. Returning these and thinking of resoling my old Blucher Mocs!

I ended up with a 7 and that fit. My normal size on other shoes that I bought from you and other stores has been a 7 1/2. This shoe runs big Also the ball of the foot part of the shoe does not have much cushion. I had to purchase a additional cushion to put in the shoe.

Compared to Sperry, these shoes are not up to par. The interior seams chaffed my feet. There is no comfort padding on the insole. I'm a big LL Bean fan, but this product is not up their standard. I will be returning them.

I ordered these as a replacement for another pair of ll bean topsiders that i got about a year ago that got a massive rip down the side of the toe box and after wearing this new pair for about a week i noticed that the shoelaces would not stay still and always became parallel to the shoe no matter what. To give insult to injury they also came with ugly laces that do not match the aesthetic of the shoe. where has ll bean's quality gone?

I found out that after 2 years the soles of these shoes will split.I believe either no creases on the sole or a different design will prevent this problem.

I have bought this shoe before, and it had a shallow tread and thicker sole like that shown on the hand sewn moccasin shoe.. That sole on my prior pair(s), like the sole shown on the hand sewn moccasin shoe- was thicker a thicker sole with a shallow tread, accompanied with more comfort in the foot bed. These men's Casco Bay Boat Mocs. have skimped on the sole. It is thin, smooth bottom and generally an uncomfortable sole; the material appears to be of poor quality, has virtually no padding. I would not recommend this show.

Normally my son wears a 10 1/2.
We have returned the shoes once. And need to return again. We are almost down to 8.5. But are too tight. So probably need wide. Sizing is very difficult. Beautiful shoe.

I bought these to replace a pair of LL Bean driving mocs that they no longer offer. I have purchased many Bean shoes in the past and in fact bought a pair of work boots at the same time. Usually you can tell about a Bean shoe the minute you put them on. I was a little hesitant about these, but bought anyways. Unfortunately I have had for a few months now and they HAVE NOT broken in at all, are very stiff, and very uncomfortable. I am 70 years old, active and 185lbs.They will be going to Good Will. Unfortunate for teh money spent.

I have had these quite a while (since '21). The soles are hard as plastic. I have tried to scuff them and put the adhesive-backed grips on the soles with no luck. The adhesive grippers offer a bit of help but the heel and non-covered area remains slick as glass. I knew the minute I put them on several years ago I would not wear these on the boat. I was using them infrequently around the house and constantly slipped on carpet and hardwood. Recently these slipped and put me down the stairs. They were placed in the garbage as they are not worth the risk. They look nice but are a complete miss on function expected in a boat shoe.
