Purchased these Boat Mocs to use as slippers that could be worn to pick up mail at the box across the street. More than a little disappointed. The Boat Mocs offer zero arch support, were a little too long and a little too wide for my feet; despite my having used the size chart to confirm that my current shoes were equivalent to the 10 Wide Boat Moc that I ordered. I've been "making do" with some heavier socks, but I can't do much about the lack of support. I wouldn't recommend. Curiously, some older L.L. Bean moccasin style slippers without hard soles that I purchased were too short and too narrow. I guess L.L.Bean is not a good place for me to purchase shoes.

I ordered an 8 1/2 Med as a previous LLB size 9 stretched over time to flip-flop size. I measured my foot and it came to the parameters of size 8 1/2 M, but LLB sent me size 9 Med. I tried the size 9 on and it was snug but I figured it would stretch after a week or so, but it didn't, so I had a shoe shop stretch it a little wider and it fits fine now. The shoe is very well made, from Brazil. I recommend the shoe but I think this manufacturer makes them a half-size tighter than I measure.

Beautiful shoes pouring out quality but when worn soles are so thin and with no arch support or padding I couldn't comfortably walk in them. LLBean allowed me to try another pair to see if the original pair were inferior but the second pair did the same. If you have a lot of natural padding on the soles of your feet as opposed to those of us over 60 when padding is thinner you may be OK.

Except for one thing - these are great shoes. The quality of the leather is very nice. The dark brown color have a smooth, waxy surface; I don't know if it is, but it reminds me of chromexcel leather. I found these to be true to size and comfortable (except as noted below). The shoes come up around the foot more like a Blucher than the Camp Moc so, they provide some stability. I, initially, liked the look and feel of these so much I immediately ordered a second pair. The problem for me is that they have a full length, smooth leather insole/sock liner. Most moccasin style shoes like this have a half leather insole/sock liner for the heel portion of the shoe. I strongly prefer this and prefer that the forward part of the shoe be unlined and allow the foot to rest on unfinished natural leather - why? Internal traction/stability within the shoe. The leather is so smooth on the inside that I felt my foot sliding around at the bottom - this is wearing them barefoot, not with socks. An unlined portion of a moccasin also does a better job of absorbing any perspiration that might occur around the foot. These might work for you, but I ended up returning both pair. Too bad, because these seemed to use better leather than with either the Camp Moc or the Blucher and were, overall, nicely made (except for the full length smooth leather insole/sock liner).

Every pair of shoes I own is size 10.5, medium wide. The 10.5 size shoes that I received were almost clown like. Way larger than a standard 10.5 size. They were also wider than expected. They fit more like flip-flops, but the overall quality looked good. Back they go...

Size label is off by one full size. Had to order one size below mine. Bean took care of the replacement graciously. Thanks. Otherwise, a beauitful, well made moc.

Good looking shoe. The shoes have absolutely no arch support, I guess that is ok for boat shoes, but they are definitely not all that comfortable for a person with high arches which I have. They also have no cushioning and walking on gravel lets you feel every stone. I ordered them a 1/2 size large and they were even larger than I thought they would be. Putting cushioned insoles in them made them a little more comfortable, but my feet hurt while breaking them in the first week on a boat trip, and they still hurt four days later. I wouldn't buy them again. They seem to be well constructed, and do function well as a boat shoe giving good grip on wet surfaces. I selected I wouldn't recommend to a friend, but what I would do is give a friend my assessment and let them buy if they didn't have reservations about arch support and cushioning - without those issues they would be fine.

I ordered the Boat Mocs with the Canyon color, because I wanted the dark sole. Shoes arrived promptly, on inspection they are very well made and quite handsome in my opinion. The reason I marked them 3 stars is entirely because of the sizing. I think the quality of the shoes is excellent in all other aspects. Unfortunately they were disappointing because, even though I specifically ordered the size I have worn for years, 14 EE, the shoes that arrived were very long. I think if they were measured they would be size 15. I am not pleased with that outcome. I have not started the return process yet because I have been trying to decide whether to take the gamble on sizes again and order another style of shoe. Perhaps the better choice would be to order some pants and shirts.

Both the material and workmanship were what I learned to expect from LL Bean - simply excellent. However, I returned the Mocs because I kept stepping out of the Mocs when walking. My heels would slide out with each step. The Mocs were my correct size and width.

I wear 12 wide which is what I ordered online. I couldn't slip either of my feet in them. I returned them to a local outlet for a refund.

Unfortunately, I was trying to match boat shoes that were purchased sometime near 2010. Those were good leather, penny loafer style that have held up for an incredible amount time and put through every condition imaginable. The Casco Bay Boat Moc's that I recently purchased feel cheaply made, not near the quality of the others and, especially, not as comfortable. They were the closest thing LL Bean had that was closest to the previous pair purchased.

I bought these shoes primarily because of its smart looks but after only a few weeks of use, they have deformed into a sloppy look. See pictures. Also, the sole is too slippery on a wet floor.

Very nice shoe, but too narrow in Medium D size, which I have worn for years in other shoes. Uncomfortable enough that I had to return them. One problem is that my right foot is a little bigger and wider than my left. That, of course, is not the shoe's fault, but in other shoes I've been able to find that the right will be a little snug and the left a little loose. Not a big deal except with these shoes. Too bad, because they are very nice looking and appear to be well made.

I purchased this item for a Christmas present and the item came out with one shoe that was wrinkled while the other looked great. Now I have someone else's shoe probably that was sent back after a week for all I know and it looks used with a cool brand new one. I was so excited and now they are almost "bad" looking. Be aware, however I did buy on sale!

I have ordered shoes from LLBean before but, had to return these as they were way to large both in length and width. I did not repalace them with a smaller size as they seemed way to stiff for active boating and would require a good deal of breaking in before being useful. They looked and felt well made as you would expect from LLBean.

Very comfortable shoes, with good fit. But, after wearing for less than two years, the sole essentially turned to hard plastic, cracked, chunked and became so slippery that the shoes are unsafe. Tried to return, but unable due to outside of the one-year new return policy.

Nice quality shoe, good construction. Looks as advertised. Major issue, the right shoe squeaks on every step. I thought it would go away has not over the course of a month.

I was impressed with the quality of the materials and construction. However, when I put on the shoes they were at least a full size too big. I recently returned a different model because they were a size too small. Both pairs were labeled size 12M. There is a quality-control issue with sizing, and the return fees are killing me. Customer service refused to waive the fee, despite that this is obviously a quality-control issue on the manufacturing side. As a lifelong customer, I'm sad to say I will not order shoes from Beans again.
