I was looking to replace very similar sandals I have - Teva Tirra - because I liked this color better. The foot bed was SO comfy. Unfortunately, the ankle strap rubbed on the inside of my ankle. I played w/ the adjustment, but couldn't get it to stop. Bummer.

These sandals do not close tight enough across the foot. I could have spent over $20 to have more Velcro added, but not worth it. I don't have especially narrow feet, but these simply don't have tight enough adjustment. I returned them.

So disappointed that these seem to run small! I ordered a size 11 and my toes almost hang over the edge. No bigger sizes offered. I've never had this problem with LLBean size 11s before. They look like great sandals- order a size up if you can!

I love these sandals, which I have had in black for two years. They are my go to sandals, hands down. When I saw that they had added colors this year, I immediately ordered them in Sand. When the sandals arrived, I was taken aback by two things:
-- a wicked strong chemical smell
-- the serious difference between the pictured sandals and the ones in my hand. In evening light, they looked more olive than sand. In addition, the outer sole was not a contrasting/darker shade of brown, as depicted. There were smudges of a darker color sporadically along the outer sole.
I assumed that I had received a defective pair, but when I contacted LL Bean and explained the issues, they checked on it, and said that the outer sole was not contrasting as in the picture, and promised to update the picture on the website. That has not yet occurred.
I paid to ship them back, and in two decades+ of shopping at LL Bean, I am a dissatisfied customer for the first time. Hope it's a fluke.

Loved the sandals but the toe area is too narrow for my feet. After years of standing on my feet my foot is wider/flatter in the toe area. Many of todays sandals curve at the toe rather than provide wider support. Might fit if 1/2 sizing was available but this is not an option for these sandals. Returned.

I had a pair of these and loved them. I wore them out and thought I'd love my second pair just as much. Unfortunately, I found the straps to be very scratchy against my bare skin, so I had to return them.

I didn't order the black shoes. I ordered the beige. The beige shoes from last year were a lot more comfortable.

These sandals looked great, but were uncomfortable and too wide. I have a narrow foot and thought the Velcro straps would make them fit. However, by the time I tightened them to fit, they were not comfortable at all plus the insole was scratchy and did not fit my flat foot, making walking somewhat painful. I returned them.

Sizing of LL Bean footwear has changed so much that it is hard to find shoes that fit. These were returned.

I gave these sandals 2 starts for the comfortable sole. The strap design looks very odd to me though. They are spaced such that the first set of toe straps are fairly far down on the foot. And the two sets of toe straps are spaced apart in a way that looks strange. There is also an ankle cushion on the ankle strap that doesn't feel centered.

I am disappointed in the quality of these sandals. Soles are visibly worn after a 20 minute walk. The straps a much to long for my foot. They loon ridiculous, hangers no that far over the side of the shoes, and I can't make them tight- because the Velcro doesn't align. When I return to CT for vacation in late June, these will be returned, too.

This is not the quality I experienced with my previous pair . Total disappointment. I'm sending them back. The reasons. The right foot back strap does not stay up. The placement is off. I've worn the Dickens out of my previous pair of the same style, size and color. The quality was visably off. I was willing to ignore that, until I discovered the inferior fit. Sorry.

Very stiff material which is uncomfortable to wear. Left me with blisters. Of course, once the shoe has been worn - it's unreturnable.

I've purchased these before in a different color. They're comfortable (!), the most important thing. But this pair has over-long straps which make the shoes look odd.

The back strap is very low and non adjustable, Not a good fit if you have issues with this part of the sandal. I am giving these a bit of a try but have a good chance of returning them.

I love the way these sandals look and fit. But when I walk, they make farting noises. I tried powder, that didn't help. I read that I can buy Dr Scholls inserts, so I will try that next.

These are great sandals. However, the bottom connection velcro closing on the ankle strap was sown too close to the side of the shoe, so that the overlap from the top connection is minimal and threatens to disconnect. A simple fix is to sew that bottom connection velcro further from the bottom connection to the shoe base, allowing more of the strap to overlap. I took a photo showing the difference and will attach. My older identical shoes has the velcro at least a 1/2 inch further from the base/side of the shoe and there's enough overlap when closing the strap. Today I returned these shoes to the store. The store did not have another black to check, but the velcro is sown on better on the khaki version and I exchanged my new black shoes for those.

I bought a pair of the Boothbay Sandals 7 years ago, at an LLBean store. Loved them! Wore them a lot, until they finally wore out. I wanted to order a replacement pair, but wanted to be sure the fit would be the same. I was assured by the LLBean rep that the sizing had not changed. Unfortunately, this was not true. The velcro straps have been repositioned so that the sandal must be fastened much tighter than before. Very disappointing! I sent the sandals back today. Lesson learned (again!): always try on shoes before purchasing!

I think the pair I had was defective. Right strap around the back of the ankle was not cut the same as other foot. No way to adjust that strap.

These shoes just don't look pretty, saw someone else wearing them in another color, theirs didn't look any better. The heel is fixed in place by stitching and sits in the middle of the heel which feels wrong. Wearable but not likable, I returned them.

I thought this sandal would fit my narrow feet because of the adjustable Velcro straps but they were still too loose when tightened to the end of Velcro strip. Returned them.

I am a HUGE LL Bean supporter, but not a fan of this sandal. Velcro straps are not durable enough to trek through water and the entire sole of the sandal (black bottom) separated from the top half (grey). Maybe I had a faulty make but I was very disappointed in the short use of my purchase.

I purchased these to replace an older similar pair I bought from LL Bean a few years back that I adore. These were not nearly as comfortable as the older version. They have support under the toes that was in the wrong place. It should have been placed under my toes, but it ended up being too far back, making it very uncomfortable. The rest of the shoe was true to size, but the placement of the toe support was incorrect. The soles give a lot, but the older pair I have have stiffer soles, and are much more comfortable. I was disappointed, because they looked good, and seemed like a perfect replacement. I had to return them.
