After reading all the reviews , and knowing other people who bought this for Christmas also, I am afraid to open the box and put this together. I am thinking I should return this product and get my $200.00 back. That is a lot of money to pay for a toy that is just going to break right away.

We just received our Fresh Mart today, and were very excited. We love all of our Melissa and Doug products so I expected great quality with this one. Well, assembly went easy until I got to the conveyor belt. There were no predrilled holes for the 2 small screws (which also aren't pointy on the tips), so the screws wouldn't go in. And the handle to turn the conveyor belt won't "click" in. It either looks like it's starting to strip if I press it in, or it falls out if I leave it where it is actually catching on the inside to turn the belt. I'm very frustrated that I spent all this money and then the biggest part of the checkout lane doesn't even fit or work properly.

I bought this at a mom and pop shop. For as expensive as it is the conveyor belt broke within a week of careful use. I was sure to watch the children when using the toy and the conveyor belt is held up with small plastic clips and broke on one side. They will replace for another $25.

For as expensive as this product is I expected it to be better quality. The very small plastic clips broke on one side of the conveyor belt and now it falls into the counter. It was only used a few weeks and with care. I always watch the kids to make sure we are respecting the toys and when I took it apart to see if I could fix it I was not shocked it broke because of how small the clips where that held it up. I can replace the whole conveyor belt for $25 but after only having it a short time I do not want to have to replace it when it happens again because I truly feel it is poorly designed in that spot.

I bought this item for a Child Care Center that I recently opened. This item is not for commercial use or to be used by a traffic of children. It's too fragile and not sturdy at all for children. Within the first week all the grocery store food was chipped and it looked old. The pen broke off. The wood is very cheap and chips if handled incorrectly. I spent a lot of money on this and I am very disappointed. I would only recommend to people with one child.

Really it broke when I wrapped it for my kids b-day. Told her . VARY DISAPPOINTING.
