I bought this product for my girls for Christmas and they were so excited to open it. It was very easy to put together and it would go with the billion of other Melissa and Doug things that we own. The only problem we had was the the scanner. It hasn't worked sense we got it. We put multiple sets of new batteries in it and it won't work. Is there any way of replacing it?

My son used this for two days before the plastic that surrounds the conveyer belt broke and makes the conveyer belt totally unusable. We thought we'd have to throw the toy out, but was very happy that we called customer service and they were happy to send us out a new conveyer belt free of charge! Very happy with how the issue was dealt with!

We tried many batteries and nothing. This is a gift from Santa talk about disappointment. I called the 1800 number and lady told me they send us a new scanner but they are back order so who knows when and if we really will. Very disappointing. On another she still plays with it we just have make out in beeping noise .hopeful they make it right and get us a new scanner.

This comes with absolutely nothing but the store. A few of our people are were cracked and chipped and the pen was barely hanging on but of course we were assembling the gift the night before so we couldn't exchange or return it. Would not buy again

I called the 1800 number for help regarding the scanner that does not work. Doug and Melissa response is to go through the retailer where we bought it. Of course it's backordered and not available. The assembly took hours to build. Taking it apart and sending it back is not an option. Doug and Mary should standby behind their product and replace parts when needed. Very disappointed.

Purchased for grandkids for Christmas, went to assemble on Christmas Day and no instructions and no hardware to assemble. I would love to recommend but can't. Let's see how quickly I receive a response to my email and how quickly I get the hardware. My grandchildren are so disappointed!

I was disappointed by this purchase. The holes when building it weren't aligned properly making assembly annoying and time consuming. The knob that rotates the belt comes off so easily. I was under the impression that the keypad for the cash register beeped or made noise, it does not. The Melissa and Doug grocery cart I bought to go with this set was very difficult to put together also due to misalignment. The wooden Melissa and Doug food I bought to go with this were so tiny, several pieces came unpainted, literally looked like raw wood. This was my child's large Christmas present and was a huge disappointment for the price. Will think twice about ever buying Melissa and Doug toys ever again. What a shame.

I purchased this item for my kids and had it assembled for Christmas Eve. Assembly was straight forward and easy. However, two days later the cooler door fell off. We've put it back on numerous times now, but the same thing keeps happening. Overall I'm very pleased with the product, but the door has a bad design. Also, I wish the overall design was better suited for other Melissa and Doug toys, such as the can set or grocery store expansion pack. By this I mean that the additional toys don't fit perfectly - more specifically, you can't fit 4 cans across on the shelves, even though the products are all Melissa and Doug.

I have sent several emails since we first purchased this toy with no response. A 8 month old leaned on the door to the fridge & it completely fell off. The pen to the credit Maxine broke within days. The conveyor belt fell in completely & the display area shelf backs were moving back & forth. I purchased straight from the Melissa & Doug website to ensure the highest of quality and have been highly dissatisfied. The children keep asking when they can play marketplace again. It's really unfortunate because it's a great concept.

Great concept lots of fun but not impressed with the quality. It's marketed for children so should be made with products to withstand a child's play After reading several reviews It would appear there might be design flaws. Do not recommend due to poor quality of materials definitely a huge stately concern.

We got this just after Christmas and the other day my daughter fell and unsed the held to hold her up and it broke the quality is just awful she's barely 26 lbs. I've sent 2 emails regarding this and no replies! We're in Canada so paid over $200 it's a super fun toy but very easy to break. Not impressed about my emails not being returned either!

While the play value of this toy is huge the quality is poor. I have had this toy for a year now. The cash drawer was broke within a week. I contacted Melissa & Doug and they were great and replaced it. Since then, the conveyer belt broke, the bottom shelf is broke and the fridge door has broke. This is way overpriced for the quality it is. Aside from the quality this toy is amazing. My kids spend hours playing with it daily. The scanner /debit machine is a huge favourite. Even broken my kids love it.

While we adore the setup and idea behind this product and all things Melissa and Doug, our conveyor belt was toast in less than an hour. This is all my 5 year old son wanted for Christmas and was elated to open it Christmas morning but it did not last long. He's a very gentle boy and had yet to break a toy but apparently leaning on the belt to put the "lane closed" sign up was all it took. Clips are broken and the belt is inoperable. 2 stars for very easy instructions. Much appreciated for the 2 am last minute Christmas put together session (he unwrapped the empty box...much easier to wrap and it's already together).

We loved the idea of the Grocery Store Set for the playroom, in addition to our daughter's Melissa & Doug Kitchen Set, but it's built with very poor quality material. The plastic clips that hold the conveyer belt in and up broke within a month. It is now collapsed and inoperable. The bottom shelf did not withstand the children playing and has broken since as well. Had high hopes for this product to last a very long time, very disappointed. Would not recommend.

And I would have the part.

Material was very thin 3 pieces were broke had to glue them.

We put it together Christmas Eve and it was working fine, but come Christmas morning and the sounds do not work. We replaced the few hours old batteries, and still no sound. Disappointment doesn't even cover it.

I bought this item to buy my children's love. But when I surprised them with it, THEY HATED IT. The sound stopped working and the conveyor stopped spinning. This is by far the LEAST WORKED ON product i've ever bought.

This is poorly made, the scanner stopped working in a little over a month, the door on the "fridge" section never really fit in place and now has broken. Then conveyor belt never really worked to begin with. For the amount it costs, i expected this to have been built better.

My son loved this toy when it first arrived. He did not want to stop playing with it. When the scanner broke about a month after we got it, he hasn't played with it since. We tried to change the batteries multiple times. It's completely dead.

I was so disappointed with this. Bought it and its horrible Because it was Bought just before the coronavirus. I cant return it . We had a fire and lost everything. I was lucky enough to of had some stuff in storage previously. Wood was falling apart when putting it together, scews didn't go in all the way so some space is left between some of the pieces pieces missing. I will be buying from somewhere else from now on. Waste of money and kids were heartbroken.

Absolute waste of money. The belt will not go in properly and is not useable. I bought this for my sons birthday. This is sickening knowing I spent all this money for something not to work properly.
