I bought this jacket for a 2021 trip to Iceland. The price made me wince. I brought another nice rain jacket as well, planning to return this one if it didn't perform. We did a lot of hiking in the whipping wind and rain and this jacket was OUTSTANDING. The other big name jacket I brought was useless in comparison. Since then, I use the Beta AR Jacket while I am coaching outside all day in the rain. It is completely waterproof except maybe one 2 inch spot on my shoulder. Every other jacket I own would fail at 4 hours. This one goes all day long. And it's extremely great at cutting the wind. I can layer warmer clothes under it to adjust for the temp. I went ahead and ordered the waterproof pants as well! Phone pocket is too small for my Pixel 8. I can cram it in there but I worry about damaging the zipper pocket. And don't use the hip pockets for your phone. If you leave those open they collect water lakes. No joke. My phone was in 2 inches of water in my (open) side pocket. Anyway, this jacket keeps me confident going out on the wettest/windiest days. I can't say enough about it. It's one of the most important pieces of outwear that I own.

I bought this after years of drooling over it and it did not disappoint. I wondered why a shell could be so expensive but after wearing it , the old adage " you pay for what you get" rang true. My first experience using it was on a day at Silverstar. It was blowing , wet and foggy - not ideal. We were getting soaked riding up the chair all day. That said, I remained dry underneath and never chilled. I paired it with the cerium and it was a nice combo - warm but no bulk. The rest of the week offered completely different conditions- glorious sunshine. The jacket was great in that too with its ventilation . I removed the cerium and with an only a base layer, the jacket was just fine. I'm 5'2, fairly athletic build and found a small fit nicely. My arms are shorter than most Id say but it wasn't a problem with the Velcro's at the wrist. I put the jacket overtop of the mitten and Velcro'ed it around the wrists for a nice seal. Can't complain about the Beta AR. I have it in a blue - looks good with black pants. Overall very versatile and stylish

Love the large hood, deep pockets, velcro wrist closures, hem closure and fit. I bought an M but it was narrow in shoulders, so got an L. It's a bit baggy in the torso but can fit lots of layers underneath.

I got this jacket for a late winter alpine objectives. Lightweight enough to cram in your pack but still great protection from the elements combined with the loose fit makes it easy to layer and adapt to the big temperature swings this time of year. I'm usually a solid medium in all my arc'teryx jackets, but I opted for a large because I was nervous this jacket would feel short or more fitted compared to my preferred relaxed fit winter jackets - I was wrong, totally could have gotten a medium but have learned to love the extra space. :)

I'm still waiting for the Beta AR Jacket to come out in a bright red color like the men's Beta AR Jacket!

I bought this jacket because i needed a light weight jacket for hiking and have always been pleased with the performance of Arc'teryx products since they came out. My only complaint is I cannot tighten the collar enough when walking into a strong head wind. Still prefer it to the storm hood most of the time.

I bought this jacket last year in red for hiking. Such a beautiful color and great jacket, a bit pricey though. Would love to buy another one in yellow when it's back on stock.

Purchased this jacket for the same reasons we all do...to keep warm and dry while being comfortable! And, it did not let me down. I like longer sleeves and a decent length in the back while being kept dry and snug. I did order a larger size than I am due to my love of oversized clothing and this did not let me down and I'm very impressed with the engineering that has gone into such a fantastic bit of kit.

Purchased this jacket in Electra this weekend. It arrived today and the quality is superb. I ordered the Electra colour and it really is as stunning as shown here in the pictures. I"m so pleased I took the leap of faith and bought my 1st Arcteryx garment.

Ordered the Beta AR and have taken it out on a very rainy 3 hour hike in the PNW. It kept me super dry and I love the pit zips to help with temperature regulation!

The Beta AR is technical, breathable waterproofing, windproof, all-season technical shell jacket and continues to earn the top spot in my closet as a primary go-to shell I use more than any other jacket year-around in low and high exercise activities outdoors, travel, or casual wear use. Over 15 years, I have owned multiple Beta AR jackets in different colors and on average it lasts over 7 years before replacing with no seam, zipper, or waterproofing issues. The jacket has traveled with me on many adventures around the world. The Beta AR is lightweight, packable, and is exceptional for layering underneath or as a stand alone shell. I am 5'1" and the size small is perfect for a slightly oversized fit for layering. Highly recommend!

I've had this shell jacket for over 10 years and it's been an incredible piece of gear. It mostly lives in my pack as a standby for bad weather as I do better in softshell jackets (I get warm very easily) but when I've needed it to withstand harsh cold winds or a winter storm, putting it on felt like entering a cozy protective shelter.
After a decade of use, the only 2 issues I've had are: the lower back pull-string (no sure how it's called) which I asked a friend seamstress to take off and seal/sew flat. It must have been rubbing against backpacks I wear or something.
And the inner cuffs, which started fraying and I had to trim off. They could benefit from being taped or sealed on the inside.
As for the fit, I wish the back was a little longer for better coverage, especially in wet conditions and the cuff velcro a tad longer as I often wear it over multiple layers and my wrists area is "thicker" than wearing a simple sweater under. (if that makes sense?)
Overall, this has been an amazing purchase, reliable and of impeccable quality with the durability speaking volumes about its craftsmanship. If you want a jacket that lasts, this is it. Highly recommend!

I love this jacket for hiking, skiing, and daily living. The only tweak I would make is that the collar/neck tube sits a bit too high around the mouth and it's a bit uncomfortable.

Great jacket, i wear mine almost anywhere, shopping or out for a walk. If it's wet out no problem, water proof, on colder days an extra layer and I'm good to go. This jacket is worth the money,

Amazing jacket, love the fit. Fabulous for a multitude of activities from hiking in the inclement weather, skiing and still stylish enough to wear in town. The pit zips make it very breathable during strenuous activities. Definitely worth saving up for

I have been using my jacket now coming up two years and still absolutely love it. Its easy to store away and beads rain perfectly. I went for a size up from my normal size to fit layers underneath when camping and the fit is perfect. The hood adjustment also makes wearing the jacket very comfortable in heavy downpour and fits well under a harness.

Arc'teryx customer service made it so easy and affordable for me to replace my 15 year old goretex jacket that I loved. My new Beta AR Jacket looks and fits great, but I haven't had a chance to wear it yet. I have no doubt that it will also serve me well for many years to come.

I bought this jacket some time ago and I love how packable and light the jacket is. I had no issues when I washed the jacket and followed the care instructions carefully. After washing the jacket is looks like new and always keeps me dry! I love wearing it when I go hiking or just outside for a walk. I love that the collar is protecting you from the wind as well and the hood is adjustable. The zippers are watertight and the jacket has not disappointed me yet! Super reliable and durable.
