I've had this for a few weeks and so far here's my assessment:
Pros: waterproof and windproof
Love the color
Fot is good overall
Hood is very adjustable and easy to see in - best one I've had
Collar also very adjustable - this is great
Seems durable - time will tell
Cons: very noisy - like wearing a paper bag
Zippers are difficult to move, not smooth
General: fit is good overall but the arms are a bit long.

Best waterproof shell Ive ever had! Fits great and performs great. I sometimes use it just as a raincoat in the spring but mainly as a waterproof outer shell over my down coat.

I bought this jacket for a 2021 trip to Iceland. The price made me wince. I brought another nice rain jacket as well, planning to return this one if it didn't perform. We did a lot of hiking in the whipping wind and rain and this jacket was OUTSTANDING. The other big name jacket I brought was useless in comparison. Since then, I use the Beta AR Jacket while I am coaching outside all day in the rain. It is completely waterproof except maybe one 2 inch spot on my shoulder. Every other jacket I own would fail at 4 hours. This one goes all day long. And it's extremely great at cutting the wind. I can layer warmer clothes under it to adjust for the temp. I went ahead and ordered the waterproof pants as well! Phone pocket is too small for my Pixel 8. I can cram it in there but I worry about damaging the zipper pocket. And don't use the hip pockets for your phone. If you leave those open they collect water lakes. No joke. My phone was in 2 inches of water in my (open) side pocket. Anyway, this jacket keeps me confident going out on the wettest/windiest days. I can't say enough about it. It's one of the most important pieces of outwear that I own.

As always, Arcteryx lives up to their reputation. The beta AR never fails to disappoint. I havent bought one in many years and was pleasantly surprised at an updated fit, being longer in the body than my previous jackets. Highly recommend, worth every dime!

I ordered this rain jacket with Gortex Pro to keep me truly dry during hikes. I ordered a size much larger than my petite size so that my - always cold! - hands could be fully covered by the sleeves. Works perfectly!

I bought this jacket last year in red for hiking. Such a beautiful color and great jacket, a bit pricey though. Would love to buy another one in yellow when its back on stock.

I was so excited when I saw the Beta AR jacket now comes in the Heritage color. I was very disappointed to find out that it is only available in men's sizing. A person should wear bright colors when in the mountains in case they get lost. I t is easier to be located if you are wearing a bright color. Please come out with a bright red color for women.

Love the construction quality and hood details. Unfortunately the the jacket length didnt cover my puffer that I plan to wear as mid layer. If mfg. had provided length spec, a return would have been avoided. Would have loved to keep it.

Love the jacket. Color and so
Would be nice if it also had a zipper on the left arm for more multipurpose use. Like the beta AR rain pant can also be used for sking

Usually, i buy large. I bought an XL because i wanted to be able to wear other coat under, but it seem to have the size for male!
It is too much tall and i had checked my size with the size chart!
I have returned it!

Brought as a thanks giving gift for my Mom, Just check with her recently and find a part of the out layer and Gore-tex membrane is not good, She said she just used once and it did not touched anything like oil. contacted with Custom Service and they copy pasted a reply teaching me how to wash.

I wear this jacket in a variety of settings [backpacking, snowboarding, mountain biking, errands on rainy days, to formal events on rainy days] and it performs in each setting. I appreciate that it keeps me dry, can be worn over one or many layers, has the pit-zips for added breathability option, neckline prevents wind, rain, and snow from sneaking underneath, and the hood accommodates my biking, snowboarding, and climbing helmets.

There are many shells on the market but if you had to pick one for adventure sin the mountains, the Beta AR would be it. You can pack all the puffies in the world but without a shell on a windy/wet day, you're going to be cold. The Beta is super light weight and packs down pretty compact in your backpack. I bring it on any alpine/winter adventures and use it for backcountry skiing. It has armpit vents and easy zippers to use when you're wearing gloves. The hood fits over a helmet, and the neck is high enough to block out wind when you're not wearing your hood.
Tested in PNW, Colorado winters, and California.
If you could buy one product from Arcteryx, this would be it. Most versatile and well made product.

I bought a beta AR jacket a while back, and I worn them for hiking and skiing only a few times. But the material is ripped off! I never expected the material is so flimsy. I then contacted the after sale service and all they can offer is to send me a patch like a bandage to put on the jacket. I don't think the quality justifies the high price tag. I was even more disappointed by the services.

Like the jacket - the green color is a tad "off". It's a Kelly green, which some might love, but a bit too yellow/grey for my taste. I traded for black. Too bad there aren't better colors.

Really disappointed in the performance of this jacket. I wore it hiking and it was raining quite heavily. At the end of my hike I found both the pockets had quite a bit of water inside. For a jacket that's meant to be quality and waterproof, it sure isn't very quality and waterproof

I would love for this jacket to come in a cherry red color. I hear that you should be wearing bright colors while you are in the mountains in case you get lost. It is easier to be located if you are wearing a bright color. Hoping to see cherry red soon.
