I am a HUGE fan of both the Atom LT and Atom AR. In fact I've had 4 of the LT and 3 of the AR over the last few years.
Have been needing to replace my old AR due to buying it in a colour that was completely inappropriate for weeks of mountain climbing, finally Arcteryx delivered with this awesome bright pink colour! Techno is everything I wanted in a jacket - I just wish I could afford the LT version too!
Having just completed 3 weeks in the high Himalayas I took my Atom LT, AR, and Cerium - the LT was worn EVERY SINGLE DAY. There really is no other jacket out there that's comparable for me. The AR was used every evening, and on the snowy mornings I layered the two together.
The AR is a great jacket, super warm, packable and lightweight. Perfect for layering with other mid-layers or a hardshell on colder days. But for an all rounder - the LT version is faultless. It's the first thing packed before every expedition, just need to find time to get mine repaired after years of abuse has torn the cuffs.
Would 100% recommend.

I wish this jacket was made into a fitted version, with either NO hood or a DETACHABLE hood!! I need something warmer but hate having the hood pool around the Beta AR dropped collar! Thanks for the consideration

Love this one. It is always first choice pick me up during end fall / winter season here in Boston.
I already have the fuchsia color from last year that I did wear / enjoyed a lot.. I got another one on black sapphire color since you never know if it will come back soon in stock.. It's expensive but so worth it. Thank you Arc'tyrex We do love your products.

I've had my Atom Heavyweight jacket for years and it still performs as good as the day I got it. Perfect for wearing during the fall, as a mid layer during the winter and even great for travel. It is truly the most versatile jacket that I own and I highly recommend it to anyone that is thinking about it.

I purchased this jacket last month for a trip to north Vancouver Island, it was perfect. Packed easily, lightweight but warm and breathable. I got the rune color and I love it- great as a city jacket for Fall or mid layer under a shell.

So my husband and I waited a year for this sell out, all season, atom heavyweight hoody. The minute it came online we purchased. It's so light for packing and fits perfectly true to size. Normally a medium & that's what I ordered. Let the all season adventures begin. Mountaineering or touring city streets, perfection.

definitely one of my favorite jacket of all. If the sun is out during summer I wouldn't wear it even when it's windy, but except those warm days it's my favorite. Ideal for summer night is Squamish or colder fall days in Montral or to get cozy in-between tries at the crag. if you want a mid layer and you are somebody who gets cold easily. that jacket is for you.

I am very happy with this jacket. Recently I wore it on a chilly hike in the rain. You could say I was testing the waterproof-ness. It was 40 degrees and this jacket kept me warm and dry. The water sits on top of the jacket but shakes off easily. Also the smoke bluff color is very nice.
I got an xs, for reference in am 5 feet 4 inches and weigh 115 lb. I would probably like it more if it was a few inches longer but that's just because I like to cover my bum.

Just buy it! I had the LT version but found it wasn't quite warm enough for my cool weather adventures. Just spent a week hiking Sedona and Grand Canyon to test this out and it was incredible! Warm without being hot and totally wind proof. I love the green color as well. Thank you Arcteryx !!!

I absolutely love this jacket. I purchased it a few weeks ago and I'm really impressed with the warmth it provides. It definitely has more weight and thickness than the regular Atom without restricting movement. I've been wearing it to climb in temperatures below 40F/4C and I haven't been cold at all. I got an XS and I can still layer a second hoodie, base layer, t shirt, and tank top under it. For reference I'm 5'4", 112lbs and an athletic/slim build with wider shoulders and a smaller waist. Even when I throw it on over just a t shirt, it keeps me warm in colder temps. This is my go-to winter mid layer for climbing. The Boxcar color is stunning.

Bought as a mid layer for snowboarding and it has been great and warm. It is on the baggier side but that's okay for me, I cinch the waist cord and it solves that problem. Great for Vancouver weather. I wear it on its own during these warmer winter days. It's some what water resistant so it keeps me dry. Would recommend this to others.

The Atom is a staple jacket in my collection. This will be my 4th Atom jacket. I live in Chicago, and it gets me through MOST the winter. It is light weight but very warm. It packs easily, and the quality is unmatched. I sold back two of my Atom jackets to upgrade to a new color.

Added this piece to my Arc line-up, and it couldn't be more perfect! My layering staples of an RHO, Atom jacket and Sabre shell have been my unmatched "go-to" for years. Each are great on their own, but also complement each other in tandem. The Atom has been my most-worn for almost everything, but when the temp really drops (into the minuses), a void was created. Well, in stepped the Atom HW, and it couldn't be more perfect. Ridiculous the warmth to weight ratio on this piece, perfectly warm yet breathable at the same time, and remains easily layerable under my Beta shell, even as a "regular" fit. The water resistance is a nice add when one gets caught out in changing conditions..no need to panic!

I bought this for cold weather backcountry skiing, climbing and rescue work (where we are often standing around). It outperformed my expectations, especially in the wind and especially since it is so lightweight. Nice feature to been able to cinch the hood back and the elastic at the wrists to keep snow out. Runs large. Only missing feature is a chest pocket for my phone.

I've owned a couple of these over the years and find I rarely look at any other mid layer as an option when deciding what to wear. A great jacket for almost all conditions.

Warmer than expected! I run cold and wear multiple layers no matter what I am doing. I wear the regular Atom Hoody in the warmer months (which I love), but it was not warm enough for me in the colder months. I was concerned when unpacking that this jacket would not be warm enough either due to it being too thin, but I was wrong. The heavyweight Atom hoody is warm, and I now wear fewer layers to keep warm in the colder months.

I LOVE this jacket. I got it a few years in black from REI. This year I got the boxcar color and it is beautiful. It is very warm, well made, and easy to move in. Highly recommend for layering when skiing, or taking a lunch break on the trail.
