Agree with previous reviewers. I have an earlier version and the S fits great. However, in this version, it fit baggy and loose. It's incredibly soft so wish the fit was better.

The new Kyanite AR feels very slightly thinner and softer than the previous Kyanite. I don't know whether this would translate into slightly less durability. Unfortunately for me, the new version is significantly longer - it almost covers my bum - and (as is the case with many of the recent product revisions) looser. It no longer has the lovely stretchy trim fit that I loved in the old Kyanite. The new version feels and looks less sporty and more like something you'd lounge around at home in. A shame.

I bought this last year, but gave it away after the zipper drove me crazy. If it isn't zipped all the way up to your chin, it quickly slides down and completely unzips itself. I bought another recently, hoping that a different zipper was used this year, but unfortunately had to return it. Hoping the designers see my note and offer this otherwise perfect jacket with a normal locking zipper.

I purchased this item around 3 years ago now I think? I'll be honest, this thing is uber warm, and the dye has stayed pure black, so 5-stars on those fronts, but it's also pilled so so badly, and the arms have permanent deep wrinkles in them, which started at the first few wears. It now looks quite awful, so I only wear it to bed, and under my other layers on super cold days, but wouldn't wear in public any longer. I'm looking to purchase a smaller size, but don't think I'd invest in a replacement at this point given my experience.

Returned it. Terrible color. Thin cheap-feeling material. Arc'teryx prices are ridiculous to boot.

I have a couple Kyanite fleeces, one of which I bought last winter. In comparison my new one is far lighter, not as warm, and has terrible inside pockets The one I just recieved was more like the kyanite light that I bought last summer.

Love my Kyanite so much that I wanted another one. Unfortunately, Arc'teryx has revised the fit and it's now short in the arms and boxy and short in the body. The material is nice and the fleece is soft, but the fit just isn't right for layering. Had to return it. If the old fit ever comes back, I'll be buying multiple.

I loved this hoodie from the moment I put it on, great fit, super comfy, perfect amount of warmth and much stretchier than a competing brand's popular fleece, but unfortunately after only a couple of months it was so pilled, it no longer looks very good. I only wear it around the house now.

There's nothing wrong with the current Kyanite AR per se. It's very warm for how light it is and will serve as a mid-layer when I go out climbing, or a stand-alone when in town. However, in comparison with the older version, this one is lacking. The material on this one definitely feels thinner. The interior zipped pocket is missing. What really irritates me is, with the mesh outer pocket, they could've sewn the bottom shut to make it an interior pocket, and they chose not to. Overall, a decent product. Maybe a tad expensive for fleece. Seems like they cut corners on this current version and kept it just as expensive as before.

I have the previous version of the Kyanite Hoody which I really like and wanted another in a different color but I should have paid attention to the NEW in the product description and read more carefully. The previous version has a soft, thin mesh lining in the interior front jacket that gave the jacket some structure and substance while still remaining soft. The new version lacks this and is just one layer of thin Polartec fleece. The previous version also has a small zippered interior pocket that's perfect for a key and credit card that this new version lacks. The hand pockets also now sit low on the jacket so that any heavy object, like a phone, makes the pocket droop forward and sag. In the previous version, the pocket sits higher and the mesh lining "held" the pocket in place so there wasn't this issue. Overall, rather disappointed in the new design direction. Perhaps if I didn't own the earlier version, this one might be okay. As it currently is, it feels like a basic soft fleece jacket with minimal features.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Totally different from previous Kyanite I purchased and love. Fit is now boxy and too long. No interior pocket, quality of fabric not worth the price point. Purchased the white color and it was see thru. No.

I bought this two weeks ago and was immensely disappointed with the quality. We have been Arc'teryx customers for years. The overall quality has been spiraling downwards. No longer is this a brand that I turn to, which is sad because I have always been a fan. If you took the logo off, it could be on the racks at a cheap discount store.

I bought it two months ago, it fits me perfectly, but it started to peel off in some areas.

I have this hoody from a few years ago and love the fabric and fit and have gotten a lot of use out of it. This new revised version the fabric is thinner so I'm assuming not as warm. The older version the medium fit awesome thru the shoulders, chest and waist. The revised jacket the medium is too big under the arms, across the chest and along the hem by several inches each area. I then ordered a small which was too tight. 5'4" 126 lbs, average build. Not sure who they are designing these revised versions for. This is now the third try at replacing an older, much loved and used jacket with a new one that had to be returned due to fit issues.

I owned 2 of them from past years. My daughter just bought me another one for my birthday because I just love them too much. However, the cut is not the same fitting, the inner panel is different and it is also missing a inner pocket as you see the photo attached (left-prior years model, right-this years model)
