Cramps my toes (same size as all of my other Altras that do fit) very uncomfortable, stiff and the tongue is like plastic. Can't wear them, but can't return them because I kept them in the box forever before I tried them.

This is my second pair of shoes from them. I love the comfort however after 2 weeks the sole came unglued and the stitching on the other shoe came undone.

This is a great show, except the tongue is finished by sealing sheets of plastic together, like an ice pack. That rubs against the tendons of your ankle in the worst way. Returns made deliberately hard

I recently heard someone describe the fit of these as "sloppy" and I think that hits the nail on the head. I am new to trail runners and had really high hopes but these unfortunately ruined my feet. The zero drop was a poor choice for me, it destroyed my Achilles tendons and has caused me a lot of grief over the last 3 months with these. If you are new to zero drop I highly recommend you do your research and make sure you are prepared. My heel & the inside of my arch rubbed constantly and gave me blisters, even after sizing up. Lastly, the durability seems very poor. The inside heels are already getting holes and the rubber around the outside has already started to come apart I am not a thru hiker or doing anything crazy, I have put MAYBE 50 miles on these and expected them to hold up much better. Sad to say these will be my first & last pair of Altras!

I would NOT purchase these again. I wanted to love these shoes but instead their lack of durability has turned me completely off. I walked in them less than 4x. I'm so bummed about these. :(

I run trails and I have had a few Altra models: among them Olympus 4 (two pairs) and this 5: like many others also wrote, the heel pops out while running and it feels shorter than my usual size.

I have worn Altra lone peaks for years and love them. They are all I wear. I bought these Olympus 5 for work. I'm a paramedic and needed all black and study shoe. These are the most uncomfortable shoe of Altra I have ever worn. And the size is the same as all the other I wear but seem to small for me. I wore them so can't return them.

I previously had an older version of the Olympus shoes and they were the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I was so excited to try the new Olympus style but unfortunately the heel bed is way too high and every time I took a step my entire foot slipped out of the back of the shoe. Hoping that Altra can go back to the previous version of these shoes!

I ordered the same size as my lone peaks. These were a full size too small, with my toes crammed up against the front of the shoe. The first step I took in them, I could feel my heel pulling out of the shoe. I walked across my kitchen, took them off, and returned them. They look amazing and I had high hopes, but was very disappointed in the shoe.

I cannot understand why Altra changed the Olympus 4 to these utterly horrible Olympus 5s. The Olympus 4 was awesome...I hiked the JMT and summited My.Whitney in them...not a single blister, no pain, no rubbing. Sadly, I couldn't get them anymore when I needed a new pair. The 5s run small, the heel doesn't fit right, the toe box fits oddly...they're so uncomfortable and painful that I can't even use them to mow the lawn. BRING BACK THE OLYMPUS 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a very different shoe. The size and toe box are noticeably smaller so I returned them and purchased Brooks Ghost. You can hardly find Altras anywhere now where I live. Now I know why

I was thrilled when I discovered the ALtra Olympus 4. I have 2 pairs and was excited to get the version 5. I work in healthcare and use these for work and workouts. The 5 is AWFUl--rough tongue, smaller fit, and just NOT the same. I was so disappointed when I put them on. I even tried a 1/2 size up and it didn't help the roughness of the tongue or the overall fit. I am so disappointed in this shoe. It says a lot about comfort when you are willing to pay what these cost (for the 4!!). I have a lot of medical issues and the 4 was just perfect for me and all of my leg joint issues. This is the 1st time I have looked at all of the reviews and I honestly felt relieved that it wasn't just me who felt this way. PLEASE structure the 6 more like the 4. It would be such a blessing.

I have two pair of the Olympus 4 and was so excited for a new pair but the 5s are so uncomfortable! My toes were literally falling asleep on a short walk. They are narrower, shorter and stiffer and I don't think a break in period will help so they're going back. I guess I'll stick with my old pairs for now and hope the next version goes back to that style!

I've worn Altras exclusively for 5 yrs & never an issue with size. This shoe is way too small. Also, the tongue is stiff and uncomfortable. Huge disappointment.

Very disappointed in these shoes. They looked cheap, and fit was awful. I was hoping to love them but they did not work in any way. Return was super easy. Love Zappos

I love my collection of Altras. I 'm looking for a trail shoe with a wide toe box and good cushioning, and I thought this would be perfect. And it would be, if it weren't ruined by one bizarre feature. This is a deep, cupped-out hollow where the back of the shoe should be. This absence means the heel of your foot rides up and down with every step. The hollow is too deep to be fixed with a heel grip insert. Returning them.

I bought the last version of these, the 4, and never wrote a review. But it's time to share so everyone knows they were the worst. Don't buy these shoes. I broke both of my feet trail running in the Olympus 4's. It was awful. I see these new versions have a crazy stack height as well. These shoes should not be considered "trail running" shoes. Maybe comfortable walking shoes but hiking and trail running should not happen in shoes with no ground feel or such a crazy stack height, especially with zero drop because there's no ground feel anywhere on the foot. I returned them and told them what happened. Cust service told me someone in the company would reach out to me but no one ever did. I use altra's a lot. Usually the lone peak's and torrin's. The Olympus's just the once and never again. I don't recommend these shoes but if you do buy them, use with extreme caution. Do not trail run or hike in them; they're not as advertised.

The Olympus has been the perfect shoe for me for a couple years. Now it's changed and I guess I'll have to look for something else. Too short, toe box too tight. I can't try sizing up a size, because I'm a women's size 11 and there is no 11 and 1/2.

The fit and quality are not what they used to be. I have bought at least four pairs of earlier iterations and loved them. Will no longer buy them.

Altra has slowly changed their shoes to try to "fit" in with the masses. The old TMP trail running shoes were the best of the best and there is nothing in your wheelhouse like them anymore. My feet have never been happy since these were taken off the market. The current models you offer miss the mark. The arches are too low now. They are no longer as wide. Is it saving on material? Is it reaching for the larger market? You had the golden shoes for so many of us. Sadly no more. I, like many other loyal Altra wearers are being forced to go elsewhere. Good luck.

I recently bought these for upcoming hiking trip. I've only worn them on two hikes (less than 15 miles combined) and they are already damaged. I know the damages are small but will get worse over time with more miles logged in them.
It's very unfortunate bc they are comfortable. I was hoping these would have lasted at least 2 years not 2 hikes.

The Olympus 4 were the perfect shoes and I don't know why they had to change a good thing. The new model is more narrow and an overall uncomfortable shoe. Hope they go back to better days. I have been an Altra fan for years.

My Olympus 4's were great - nice wide toe box gave a perfect fit out of the gate - but wore out after 800 miles. Olympus 5's are NOT the same - they are narrow and a huge jump between 8.5 and 9 so neither comes close to fitting. What happened to Altras having a wide toebox???

Gluing instead of stitching ruin the shoes for me because now the 10 1/2 is too small and the 11 is too big I wish they would just leave the Shoes alone but of course they wouldn't make enough money that way. Changing the models every year creates hoarding and they sell a lot more shoes at once. There's many layers to how much money they make because they do this.
