Wow! I love this shoe! I don't usually opt to workout in shoes before breaking them in, but the first time I put the shoe on, I knew it was comfortable enough to go run in. I work out at Orange Theory a few times a week and run to supplement on other days. I tested this shoe in both environments and some strength training at home and it held up it's comfort and durability in all three workouts. I have a wider foot at the center, and this shoe did not feel like it was squeezing or squashing my feet at all. It does fit true to size in my opinion. I do not have the same issue with the tongue that other people have mentioned in their reviews, but I typically wear a similar trail shoe with a harder higher tongue like the Torin.
It compares to my other favorite running shoe and at a great price. I would absolutely purchase another pair. I have a hard time finding a running shoe I like and that doesn't cause shin splints or bother my knees. This did neither!
The benefits are comfort, durability, being able to wear them right out of the box.
I would absolutely buy this product and recommended it to family and friends. Even though this was a promo and I recieved this as part of a sample, I already am planning on buying a pair for my partner!

I have worn this shoe for three days straight now and I love them. I have tried multiple brands of athletic shoes and there is always an issue with fit and comfort. These shoes are like clouds on your feet. I have run with them, walked with them, worn them to go do errands and in each scenario my feet felt as good when I took them off as they were when I put them on. I would and will buy another pair of these!

Thankfully, even from the first run with the Altra Torin 6 shoes, I felt no foot pain whatsoever. Updated from its number 5 iteration, the Torin 6 shoes debuted this summer with an engineered mesh upper, an evolved molded heel collar, and superb foam in the midsole.
In short: If you are a fan of zero-drop shoes and Altras classic FootShape, the Torin 6s will feel like nothing on your feet except support and comfort. I tested them out for miles on a variety of roads and trails this month.
Straight from the box, the Torin 6 looks sleeker than Altra's other trail runners and hikers, but still holds true to the wider toe box. The engineered mesh upper covers most of the shoe, minus the heel and collar, and just a subtle pattern that blends into the shoe's grooved design. The heel and collar fabric is soft and smooth, as is an improved, more plush tongue (compared to previous models).
After about a week of testing, I had taken the Altra Torin 6 on a few shorter runs and one longer 12-mile run around the foothills of Boulder, Colo. I used the Torins on pavement and sidewalks and on mostly flat road, though still with some elevation gain.
I also should point out that I have run or hiked in zero-drop shoes previously, including other Altras, though not recently. When minimalist and zero-drop shoes became more popular a few years ago, I had run in a few zero-drop shoes from Merrell for both trail and road.
I was a little nervous about running longer distances in these Torins, but I had no pain issues whatsoever.
From the first time out, the Torin felt light and airy underneath my feet. These shoes gave me a new outlook on running on pavement. So far, I'm confident their cushion and stability will last miles and miles.

Best running shoes I have tried! I was worried after reading reviews about the tongue but I have to say these shoes are great and I have zero complaints! I have taken them on 4 separate 5+ mile runs and they are very comfortable. The shoes have great cushion. I also used them on an elliptical machine for 5.5 miles and I think they are equally comfortable for indoor cardio. The shoes are true to size and offer great support. I love the design and the color. I definitely would recommend to anyone looking for comfort while high impact exercise. No numbness in toes, perfect true to size, and supportive. Great pair of shoes!

I received this product as a part of a promotion in exchange for my honest review. My first barefoot shoe is the Altras. I am typically a size 8-8.5 depending on the brand, but when purchasing these, I adopted a barefoot, toe spacing, future foot-conscious mindset. These are an excellent fit. I don't run, so the tongue isn't an issue for me. They have just the right amount of cushion and are ideal for having a good toe spread. My only suggestion to the brand would be that the width could be a bit better rest all looks good to me about Altra Running Women's Torin 6.

I just had a a toe procedure done about 3 weeks ago and hadn't work closed toed shoes in over 3 weeks. I finally had the courage to put shoes and and these felt amazzinggg! They are probably one of the most comfortable shoes that I have. They are padded and feel really cushioned when I walk. I would definitely get another pair and recommend to my friends and family. I hadn't heard of this brand really until now, but I've already told m friends about it. They liked that the shoes are foot shaped and don't squeeze your toes.

I really like this shoe and would definitely recommend it to someone running any distance. They were great during marathon training and they also helped me cross the finish line on the big day!

These Altras are my first barefoot shoe. I am truly converted now! I am usually a 9.5 but transitioned to the barefoot, toe spacing, future foot conscious mindset when buying these. I likely have been buying shoes too small forever so I sized up to a 10 and these are a perfect fit. I do not run, so the tongue doesn't bother me at all. I wear them with NorthSoles at my job at the hospital (long shifts on tile floors) and I literally hate all my other shoes because of them (and so do my pinky toes). I want to wear them all the time. They have the perfect amount of cushion and are so perfect for having a good toe spread. I didn't have difficulty transitioning out of other shoes but had been working on foot/toe strength for a few months prior to my purchase as I knew there might be a transitional phase. I will buy another pair of these for sure and tell everyone about how comfortable and perfect they are. RUN don't walk to buy these if you're on your feet a lot!

Zappos customer service is stellar!! They go over and above to make things right. The shoes I received were pre-worn and not clean. I contacted Zappos and they promptly re-ordered another pair to be shipped immediately!

I haven't run in the Torin since the 4 as the Escalante 2.5 has since become my Cinderella shoe. With higher volume training, though, I needed to rotate in a more cushioned shoe wider than this years Rivera. I'll admit the reviews had me nervous but I love this shoe. Ride is bouncy and responsive like my Escalantes! The heel cup is nice and secure even with my narrow heels. I haven't had any issues with the tongue either. With 100 miles on the shoes (including a marathon) wear is minimal. This is a great addition to my shoe rotation!

This is a great shoe except for the sharp tongue that is uncomfortable where it touches. I love the original footbed and especially the wide but the regular is too narrow. I am angry that you are using the "regular" all too often and not making the original and wide as options.

I have been wearing high cushioned shoes but my back always hurt. I went to get fitted and was told I need a lower stack height shoe. They brought out several different shoes and I narrowed it down to these. They are so comfortable and I can't wait to go for a walk in them. I don't run but walk 5 miles per day. I'm a Altra girl for life!!! I liked them so much I got a second pair in another color.

I have a wide foot and your shoes with the wide option have allowed me to continue my walking/running in comfort! Recommended them to a friend and he loves them too.

I've run 60 miles in these shoes and am happy with them. For reference, I've owned every generation of Torin and returned the Torin 5 because of its tongue. Between the new tongue and quarter crew socks, my ankles are happy in the Torin 6. Not sure why they stuck with the hard tongue, but at least it's not a deal-breaker anymore.
The rest of the shoe makes me happy! I am glad I can finally retire my Torin 4s.
Altra: White, black, and pink are boring colors. I loved the parrot colors! Anything in the high vis "don't kill me" family. Please. The women's Torins have the most boring color selection.

Absolutely LOVE these shoes! I'm a trainer & do a lot of high-intensity workouts on top of running & these are perfect for it all. My feet feel amazingly comfortable in them & I can run or train for a long time without any discomfort! I also have really wide feet so I was super happy with the wider-front style. Best running shoes I've owned yet!

This was my first introduction to the Torin and I am super pleased with it!! It fit my foot perfectly out of the box - no special lacing required to keep it on my foot - and it's that goldilocks cushioning that I personally prefer - it's enough to feel supportive but not over the top!

I love this shoe. Hugs my foot well, plenty of room in the toe box so no scrunched toes. I use it as my easy miles shoe, 4-6 miles a few times a week and love them!

Well done on the Torrin 6, Altra! My first thought was, this shoe is very lightweight. I thought thesame thing when I started my run. I did a mixedterrain run covering road, trail, and gravel with good traction. It's definitely a durable shoe. Because of the wide toe box, my feet feel like they can breathe. I also noticed when I increased my pace how easy it was to push off my big toe. That's an advantage because it leads to a complete transferof energy for more efficient running.

Loving this shoe for running or just being on my feet all day. They feel great underfoot, the upper is super light and breathes well/dries quickly. The new tongue is a nice improvement - it is really flexible and soft on my skin. The EgoMax foam is not as squishy-soft as the Quantic from older versions, but it runs really well and feels bouncier underfoot.

I got these because I loved the Paradigms, but am a neutral runner and wanted something lighter. These have taken me a little getting used to, but on my first 7 mile run in these, I experienced that feeling when your shoes just kind of fade into the background of your run so you can focus on the run itself. I used quarter length socks in case the tongue was an issue, and I haven't experienced issues with it. The toe box is a dream - it feels wider than the Paradigms to me. I heard somewhere that the size of the teal (the color I got) is TTS while the grey is snug...can't speak to the grey, but the teal do feel TTS. Overall, I'm really excited to run in these! They're so lightweight, and the upper is just *chef's kiss*. Super breathable. The cushion is great, too. Nothing wild, but 7 miles is long for me, and my legs/feet felt fresh after.

I bought the Torin 5 last year and loved the shoe for cushioning and overall comfort except for the tongue!! It was so bad that I had to cut it to a shape that wouldn't pinch/cut into the front of my ankle but even with doing that it wasn't comfortable to do more than 3 miles. I had asked when they were going to come out with a new version and to please let them know about the issue with the tongue (this was a known issue!). I bought the new Torin 6 as soon as it came out and it didn't disappoint!!! I love it and it's even more comfortable overall than the Torin 5. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking at Altra shoes or switching to a different Altra model shoe. Great job to the designers on this!!

I wear the torin 6 for both my daily runs and for 10 hour shifts as a nurse. I have been so pleased with how my feet feel at the end of the day. Just the right amount of squish and a very supportive heel mold.
