TONGUE HAS GOT TO GO! I love Torin's and have been buying them in almost every color every year since the 3.5's but skipped last version's bc of the terrible tongue reviews and was hoping these were improved! NOPE! I cut the tongue to help the situation and not sure it made a difference. Bring back the soft tongue! I'm a believer in the Altra Torin and brag about them to anyone who listens but I may have to find another love if the tongue situation isn't improved:(( (other than the tongue, I'm happy with the shoe)

I want to love the Torin but just can't get over the tongue shape. It's super sharp and literally cuts your ankle to the point of drawing blood. I had really hoped the 6 would change the tongue so I could try again but it looks like I'm going to have to find a different brand of shoe. :-(

I was hoping that Torin 6 has fixed the hard tongue. it is incompatible with who wear short socks. really hurts! I cut in my Torin 5 , but will return Torin 6.

The tongue is too narrow. The toe box in pinched in and caused me to get a blister on my big toe. Already needs to go back to the design of the Torrin 4/4.5 Plush.

Sad to return these. I have worn Torins for years but did not purchase the last version because of the tongue issue. Was excited that it was potentially fixed with this one. The updated snug heel is great for my narrow heels, mid foot is also more snug and the lighter weight is great, but the tongue is a deal breaker. It goes up too high, cuts in and was bugging me just walking around the house. I have been wearing Provisions because they were the next best option but prefer something less clunky. Had my heart set on the Outroad until that was pulled, then the Torin. Fustrated that Altra can't figure this out.

Couldn't believe it, after just 1 1/2 miles, I had an actual cut on my ankle from the tongue. So disappointed because Altra's are my very favorite running shoes. Afterward, when I looked at the tongue, it was obvious how sharp it was. So... I tried folding the tongue back and that was an epic fail. The shoe flops around on my foot. Can't run in these. Never thought I'd say that.

I have a wide foot and I cannot wear any other sneaker than Torin 6 so far. What my only complaint is the lack of colors, especially black, in wide. I'd rather the original style, but again, there's no choice in color nor in wide. Wake up Altra because I'm not the first person to make this complaint.

I got these shoes about a week ago and I LOVE them. They were my first running shoes that I have been fitted for at a local running store, and they fit my feet perfect. I have only run about 12 miles so far but it feels so comfortable and natural. I will for sure continue to buy these in the future. They are pretty true to size as well. I am usually between 10-11 and wear a 10.5. Would definitely recommend

I have used previous Torins for running up to 10k, and for wearing at work. The Torin6 are a disappointment. Expensive shoes to fall apart after only 2 months of light use in a manufacturing cleanroom. You can see where the treads are falling off. Not likely to buy again, which is too bad since they do fit so well.

I have been an altra fan for going on 5 years. I absolutely love their shoes. I got my most recent pair, Torin 6's, for Christmas this past year (2022). I was so excited because I had been needing a new pair! Unfortunately, the sole has already started to delaminate from the shoe, and it has only been 4 months. They are not heavily worn, as I only wear them for one mile dog walks every day, and to Orange Theory twice a week.

This was my #7 Torin purchase. I did not purchase the 5 due to lost the bouncy padding and tongue. The 6 was tight around my ankle and loose in the toe box. Just as the majority the tongue. Who needs shoe laces that stretch from NYC to Seattle? It was a disaster except for the heel and the color (white). I was extremely excited as this was my first white. I wore them around my apartment carpet for less than one hour and could not endure the discomfort. I boxed up and returned the next day. The next day my right ankle started discomfort. A trip to the Orthopedic with inflammation...having said all that I am down for 10-14 days. I have contacted every outlet and searched the web for 4, 4.5 and I would t take any shoe from 3-4.5 in size 9. I mailed the return on 7/20 so where is my return back to my payment card?

Altra failed to address the problems from the Torin 5 in this updated Torin 6 release and created a new problem by bringing the heel cup so high it rubs above the sock line. the tongue it still too sharp and too high. I cut it down, but I can't take the heel rubbing. These are destined for the trash.

I love them and want to be sure I will have them for a while. They are so comfortable with an ample toe box and snug for my narrow heels. I have plantar fasciitis and wear a shoe insert that fits perfectly. I really appreciate the extra cushioning these provide.

I'm a teacher and I find these sneakers very comfortable and supportive to walk and work in. They updated the laces from version 5 and these loosen and tie without effort.

I finally found a shoe that worked for me and now I have to start all over again because the Torin 6 is gone, replaced by the 7 that is NOTHING like the old Torin plush.

I have been wearing Altras for a full year and will wear nothing else for running. On average, I run 30-40 hill miles a week and a pair of Altra Torin 6 last me 4-5 months. If you think about it, they last me close to 500-600 before breaking in the toe box or beginning to deteriorate at the sole. Comfortable, spacious, durable. For my feet, these are awesome.

My feet don't hurt when I take them off. My joints feel better in my knees, hips, and back. My feet do get hot in them. I may need a different sock. They're cute.
