I've gone through countless pairs of road runners and I think the Vanish Tempo are the best that I've ever trained with. I'm normally a big fan of the Rivera line, however, a friend told me to try the Vanish Tempo and I've never felt anything like it. The shoe is extremely responsive even with the generous midsole height, making it the perfect trainer for all tempo/fast runs. I do track workouts every week and I only wear these shoes for those. I can't wait to run my first race in them. I just purchased a second pair to keep in my closet for when I wear out my first pair.

This is my daily trainer for everything but races. I presently have 3 pairs of this shoe all with between 230-264 miles and besides rubber wear still feel great.

I have worn almost every style of Altra road shoes. I had a 50 mile dirt road race two weeks ago and decided to go with these shoes. These held up very well. Comfortable, light, and able to push when needed. On top of that, I typically lose 3-5 toenails with ultra distances but with these shoes, I lost zero, first time ever! I have to wear a half size up due to my duck flat feet. I ended up buying two more pairs and keeping this is my main training and racing shoe! Love majority of my Altra shoes, but this simply performed the best for me!

Big fan. Ran twice so far and seeing a big difference. Less pain in my feet and my form seems to be much cleaner in these shoes.

I just bought my first pair a month ago and love them. I have been looking for something to replace the Torin since they have changed them. I love my Vanish Tempos for trading and racing.

The shoe is incredibly. One of the best speed shoes I've worn. I've since purchased the Vanish Carbon to have for race day, based on my experience with this shoe. It does fit just a bit small vs other Altra shoes. I would recommend going up high size if close in others , e.g. Torin, LPs, etc.

Love altras, specifically the torin (at least the 4.5 and now 7). Needed to give these a go and could not believe how incredible they have been. I've logged multiple PR's in them. The rocker feels "off" when you're just walking around but when you start running it disappears. Ego pro is amazingly energy efficient. The stack height makes them a bit unstable but it's worth it for the miles you can tack on with little to no leg and foot fatigue. This is THE sleeper shoe that any Altra fan needs in their rotation

Extremely comfortable shoe! I usually avoid the slim fit but these fit just about perfect for me. The feel has a similar plushness as the Torin 4.5 yet bouncy. The upper is very breathable and flexible with plenty of room in the toe box. I also like that Altra went with the rocker shape since I primarily only use this as a speed shoe. My only negative is the durability of the outsole. I'm at 250 miles and have almost worn through the rubber in the mid foot. I think I'll be able to get them to 300, but was hoping for more. I'd probably rate this shoe a 4.5 because of the durability but since I enjoy them so much I'm rounding it up to 5.

This is now my most reliable and favorite road shoe and I use it for all runs at any pace even though they are pretty pricey - they're totally worth it to me. I'm so content with this shoe after having tried an assortment of brands and models that I can imagine sticking with it indefinitely. I cycled my first pair to the treadmill this week after 250 miles; the sole has packed down somewhat but still has great cushion. The tread is showing wear but gave me no problems over a 16 mile rainy run on wet asphalt all the way. I have a forefoot strike and am doing some very fast downhill runs which is why I cycled these to the treadmill, but not before setting a new gravity-assisted (downhill) one mile PB this week, and the cushion/protection felt fine (although if your form is not strong there's no guarantees). I love the rocker on this shoe and it performed as I hoped, making turnover just a little easier at fast paces or after long miles when legs get heavier. I've been wearing Altra brand for three years and because of the roomy toe box I had to size up after the first year because my toes have spayed out and become stronger. The shoes are true to size though. The one thing that irks me is the way the chunky, fat laces come through the horizontal lace loops and twist up. I don't need them to ride flat but they really wind up easily. I think a flatter lace might not do so as much but I haven't experimented with that yet. Not a con but of note, the insoles are pretty thick. If you're between sizes you might be able to get away with changing the new insoles out for some that are already broken in, or even running them insole-free. I've tried both just to experiment for ultra distances with swollen feet and had no issues.

This is my second review of the Altra Vanish Tempo. I just tried my first pair with over 500 miles on them. This is the first pair of Altras, in about 35 pairs, that the upper has lasted over 400 miles and they actually have lasted over 500 miles. (I believe all of my Escalantes would make 500 miles; I just don't wear them as often.) The outsole held up great as well. If i didn't have a problem with poor pronation limiting my ability to toe off, I think I could have got another 100+ miles out of them.

Size up about a 1/2 from normal with Altra’s more narrow shoes. I normally wear 10.5 and 11s are perfect.

I'm really enjoying this shoe. I will use it as my daily trainer and the vanish carbon for race day. The only negative, and this is a stretch, is that the laces could be longer.

Amazing shoe. It has the plush feeling of the Torin 4.5 but with more get up and go due to the foam and rocker. Great toe box and lock down. Much better durability than the vanish carbon.

I've trained and races in Altra for 10 plus years. Zero drop technology may not be for everyone, but it's perfect for my gait and keeps me for the most part injury free. Vanish tempos are great. On my 3rd pair! Actually rotate them. Keep up the consistency in your models ! Only thing I would change about the vanish models would be to pad the tongue.

It's light and comfortable. Wore it out if the box for a half marathon and got a PR in them for my marathon. Bouncy, light and make you want to run fast. I love these shoes. Highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing do it all shoe, amazing for fast and easy efforts. The shoe shines when picking up the pace but is still amazes when slowing down, different than the endorphin speed 2 as it only had one speed, fast. Extremely comfortable shoe with no signs of wear after 20 miles, unlike the vanish carbon that had scarring on the outsole after 20 miles. Wish it came in colors other than white.

I am very pleased with these shoes. I ran my first marathon in them, and they were very comfortable throughout the race. Lite weight but still supportive, no blister issues. Based on previous experience with Altra racing shoes, I purchased a half size larger than normal which made for a good fit. Width was adequate but not as roomy as my other Altra shoes.

Love this shoe! I had the Vanish Carbon before it and wanted to try this version. As expected it was awesome. I actually took it and did an easy 3 mile run and then went and did a 100 mile run. It performed flawlessly. I will definitely be adding this shoe to my inventory again.

The Vanish Tempo has been great for me! Durability has been good with over 200 miles on them so far. I love having just a little bit of a toe rocker. Fit is perfect! I went over seas for a month and chose to take my Vanish Tempo as my primary road running shoe and it was a great choice. Very versatile shoe in that I could go long/short, fast/slow. Stability and toe rocker are good for going fast. Cushion and toe rocker made long slow runs more comfortable and reduced the plodding that I sometimes fall into when running slower paces. I will definitely be buying another pair when this current pair starts fading.

I have often wondered why Altra did not have a neutral road shoe that combined additional cushioning with less overall weight, sort of like the Hoka Clifton. I think the Vanish Tempo is a solid step in that direction. There's more cushioning than the Torin, my regular shoe (without the overblown bulkiness of some other lightweight cushioned trainers). There's a definite feeling of "springiness." As a result, I've run faster in them. There could be a tad more cushioning under the balls of the feet, but that's a minor quibble. I'd like to see additional colors other than white with a colored accent. My regular running route has three miles of packed-dirt trail - they looked a bit grungy after my first run.

Kind of a strange shoe at first. The rocker felt like it did not want to let you run slow in it. After the foam softens up a little bit this feeling goes away and it becomes a shoe that you can literally use at any pace. It feels extremely nice and secure. Lacing it might be a bit tricky but once you get it this shoe fits great, is soft yet stable, and can be used at any pace. I hope this shoe gets more attention!

I wasn't going to wear them first time for my long run but my previous long run shoes were just not feeling right and I developed a blister/callous that was uncomfortable running and after trying a couple shoes in my rotation these felt the best and like a dream with my blister. My 45 minute warm up and cool downs we're about 10sec faster per mile with less effort and they felt great! I ran over to a very steep grassy ski mountain and ran up it 10 times. These shoes felt very stable on uneven grass and I'd even wear them for a non technical trail. My cool down miles as well felt very fast and my feet were extremely comfortable and happy for 16 miles 1,900 ft of vert which included 4 miles of very steep ups and downs on grass. These are my new favorite shoes. I am between sizes of 9 and 9.5. I bought the 9.5 and they fit perfectly. I wear size 9 in the Lone Peaks and the Escalante Racers and a 9.5 in the Rivera's
