I just got these, but so far they seem great. They are super-comfortable right away, and I love the distinctive quick-lace feature. The red is really cool. I realized that my last pair of Salomons were probably five years old. It really is a testament to how well-made Salomons are that they still felt as good as they did. I happened to look at the soles and noticed that they tread had totally worn down in places--then I counted the years and realized how old they were. Salomons are built to last! I think my last pair were actually a trail running shoe, but these hiking shoes seem super-light, too, with a slightly rounder shape and more substantial chassis. Looking forward to trying these on the trail soon!

I have been wearing Salomon's for several years. I purchased my 7th pair of shoes, and have 3 pair of boots. The newest is an exceptional but. I love the brand.

I put these shoes on and didn't want to remove them.

I have a problem with my Achilles tendon, and most hiking shoes have a high back that aggravates it. The soft cushion collar of these shoes is perfect. I've been wearing them daily while touring and hiking in Quebec. They are very comfortable and provide great footing. I am so happy to have found these shoes.

This is my 4th Salomon purchase. They always fit well and consistently across different models. These are very supportive, comfortable, and have the aggressive tread I was looking for. Highly recommend!

These are a great, stable hiking shoe. I had no trouble with my feet on the 170km Tour du Montblanc, over mixed terrain and with river crossings. I have previously done multi-day hikes in trail runners, but I do think these are a little more stable and protective.

I've owned these for about a month now and they've fast become one of my favourite even just to the gym, the pulling lace feature is such a time saver - I wore them to Snowdon this weekend and was impressed by the grip, no blisters or anything afterwards. I sizes up to 6.5 to allow for any foot swelling and I do need to tighten them for my narrow feet but it's comfortable and stylish.

These are my go to walking shoe, light and comfy, I went up half a size for this pair as the last ones wore out on the inside

I was looking for a stable day hike shoe that wasn't a boot. This fit the bill- after much decision making about the size- I went with my true size and followed the foot measurement. Size 6. I fits perfectly. I wanted some room for foot swell and heavier sock option during colder days. These are a game changer in my hike and daily city walks with my dog. Pro's are the speed laces with a pocket, super stability all around, nice cushioning around the ankle and tongue.. Mine stays put- Cons for me- the laces are too long for my foot- a minor issue- they still fit in the pocket. All in all - great hiking shoe.

I have owned several pairs of X Ultra's and couldn't be happier with them. The sensifit and quicklace allows the shoe to be tailored to my exact foot shape, creating a comfortable, breathable experience. They are super grippy and I enjoy the added support to protect ankle rolls.

Couldn't wear the boots because they were too tight on my ankles. Went with the shoes instead. It was a great choice. They are very comfortable with minimum break in time. They could be prettied up a bit with a touch of color but I will wear them in their grayness and not worry about slipping or falling on rough and icy surfaces. They fit my 8W feet perfectly.

This is my second pair of Solomons.. my first pair took me up 7 14ner peaks in CO and many hikes around town. I loved every step in them. I bought these new updated pair for another hike up a 14ner, these felt just as good with an updated style. I wear them both, now it just depends on where I am going :)

I have done a few good hilly walks in these so far and im very impressed. Feel like a slipper to wear, lightweight and good grip!

These are super comfortable shoes, your foot gets hold like anywhere else and always dry!

I hiked 8.5 km in these the first time I wore them with no issues. I am used to Salomon hiking shoes but have not had this model before. Salomon seems to be fitting wider than they used to which is disappointing to those of us with a medium/narrow width foot. Comfortable and lengthwise they fit true to size (I am size 11).

I just wore these for the first time to break them in this week. They are definitely a comfortable "go all day" shoe! I found another pair of Salomons at a local store last week and picked them up too, because I liked this first pair so much! They fit and are a comfortable wear for a full day of being on my feet.

I've been having a hard time choosing new walking shoes The shoes are well made and super comfortable. Glad they fit well and have performed well in the water so far.

I have been using Salomon hiking shoes for about 2 years. I hike a lot (everyday at least 3-8 miles) and burn through them simply because I put so many miles into them. They last the longest and this model is by far the most sturdy and comfortable. I hike over different terrain and I never feel as though I am going to slip. The soles are grippy when you need them to be and let you slide when you need to navigate the downward rock faces on your butt. This is my 3rd pair of this model and I won't be changing anytime soon.

Wore 1st time for 12mile hike, couldn't believe how comfy they were. I got tiny blister right at end of the wlhike but apart from that comfiest walking shoes ever worn, they look good too.

I love these shoes. I bought this model to replace my old ones and I'm happy to say they still fit great. First time I put them on. I forgot they were new. I have a wide toebox and a high arch so fit is super important. I will say they run very large. I usually wear 7 1/2 to 8 and the size 7 fits me perfectly.

I have been searching for a hiking shoe that was wide in the toe box but more narrow in the heel. (I have a lot of heel slippage in most boots). I read a recommendation for the X Ultra 4 Wide and decided to give them a try. LOVE THEM!! Highly recommend these boots for people with wide forefoot and narrow heel! Just wish they came in more color options.
