These shoes are a great fit for a narrower foot, especially around the heel/ankle. I wasn't expecting to like the quicklace system but it works well and the shoes don't budge once adjusted. Fit and lacing very comfortable.
The insoles unfortunately let these shoes down, which would otherwise have got 5 stars. They are rather thin, and have quite rough fabric on the surface, with large perforations in the forefoot area. These factors make the insole abrasive, and gave me sore feet, especially if running in wet conditions. Swopped the insoles for the ones from my old shoes, which fixed the problem. Customer service response to my raising the issue could have been more proactive.

I fell in love with the look, first off! Then when I first tried them on I was a bit intimidated because I had no idea how to tie them. I figured it out after studying the diagram that came with the shoes. The first walk I took with my Salomons was somewhat unfamiliar and my feet were sore. But now that Ive taken many walks in them I pretty much prefer them over any of my other walking shoes I own. I definitely plan on buying more pairs in the near future.

I just wore these to hike in Hawaii. The hikes had a lot of mud, rocks, and elevation climbs. These shoes gave me great traction, and I never fell. They were also comfortable right out of the box. My only complaint is that the shoe string cables kept loosening, so I would have to bend down and try to tighten them back up. My husband has them and does not experience this issue. I do have a small ankle and kind of a narrow heal. I would love to know if Salamon has suggestions on how to keep the strings tight.

I bought these speedcross 6 shoes and have worm them twice for a 5 mile hike and a short 3 mile hike. I have owned probably 6 pairs of variations of the speedcross hiking shoe. When I say these are not as "cool" I mean they don't breathe like the other speedcross shoes I've owned in the past.

I haven't given them a 5 due to them being too wide causing me to have overlapping material when pulling them tight enough to stop rubbing and movement. Love the colour, the lugs and everything else about them. Definitely wider than previous speedcrosses

I was so happy to see Speedcross Womens wide in a color other than navy blue (not a popular color in the Rockies). The Speedcross used to be the best trail shoe out there, but its continuing its decline from version 3. As usual, after only 3 months of wear, the treads are worn down to nothing in certain areas making the shoe no longer stable. The upper material is very thin so that it wrinkles when I snug the shoe up. Worse though is that I used to be able to wear my Speedcross in the winter but these are much to cold due to the thin upper. Support is minimal. Im so sorry I have to find another brand thats more stable and rugged for actual trail running.

Very disappointed! I have speedcross 3 and love them. Size 8.5. After having two kids my foot size increased by 1/2 size. I got a speedcross 5 size 9 and love them! I immediately ordered another pair same size and they were huge. I returned them. Recently I decided to try again. I got speedcross 6 size 8.5 and 9. Size 8.5 are too narrow and 9 are too long. Solution should be 8.5 wide. However, I got 8.5 wide and they are huge! They fit like the big 9s or a 9.5. I removed the tags when I got them as why shouldnt they fit?! But they dont. I havent worn them and cant wear them. Would love to be able to return them and maybe try 8 wide? I just dont get it.

Purchased a month ago and love them. I wear salomons daily & they're great for comfort. I have worn Salomon's for 10+years and in the last 2 years I only seem to be able to fit in the wide fit so would love for more colour options.

I had to finally replace my beloved speedcross 4s. The only problem I had was finding the wide shoe in stock anywhere. My feet are normally medium width but this one is most comfortable for me in wide. I put them on and they immediately felt as comfortable as my old ones. Just the best trail shoe Ive ever used.

I wear nothing but Salomon's but recently I've noticed the heel wedge has been cut narrower, which reduces stability. Some styles still have it, but all styles used to. They need to bring it back and add single colors for women. Less gaudy, more heel!

The quality of Salomon shoes has gone downhill. First, the sizing is off. I have always worn a US size 7.5 in Salomon. I recently ordered a new pair but after wearing them outside for the first time I realized they are too big. I had to order another pair in size 7 and am unable to send the 7.5 back because I wore them already. Additionally, the support in these shoes breaks down much more quickly than they ever have, within 6 months or less, leaving not much in the way of arch support and overall secure holding of your foot. I used to be able to get a year out of these shoes. And the lacing system doesn't stay tight, so I am constantly bending over to pull them tight. As a result of these issues, I'm currently looking for a different brand. I have been wearing Salomon for 30 years but they don't have what it takes any more.

I really like these shoes, which is why I got a second pair, but I have noticed all the Salomon shoes wear out faster than most athletic shoes.

Would've preferred to buy the waterproof (GTX) version of these, but all out of my size (and only awful colors remained). Bought the same size as my Salomon hiking boots, however these were easily a half size too long! The speed laces are nice, but thin; wonder how secure they would be; as you cinch up, the instep wrinkles, as another reviewer noted. However this may have been more pronounced, as the shoe was clearly a bit too large for me. Would return and try in the next half-size down, however not available. Nice tread. Nice looking shoe.

I've only worn SpeedCross shoes for the last 5 years (4 pairs) but this one lacked the structure the last few pairs had. The toe box was larger than previous (I had wide feet too) and it felt like my foot was just sliding around. They were returned.

I got the speedcross 5 for hiking in my house in the mountains in Colombia. When it rains feels very slipery on the rocks with mud. i love the look of the shoes so i use them in the city. As a mountain person I do not recomend this shoes for the rainforest. I think the are designed for wearing in all terrains like dry mountains but not for humid rocky areas near waterfalls. I will always buy these shoes for all terrains except Colombia or Costa rica. Great for places like the dessert, the snow. Otherwise i wear my rubber 5 dollar boots. Thanks for reading

I have been buying speed cross variations since V.1., a pair per year for as long as I can remember. Great support and amazing on trails. I have never had a lace break in 2 months. Very disappointing.
