Runs right, does not seem true to size, but very durable fit

I love everything about this shoe, well-tested over 1,000+ kms (Camino Francs and its prep), except for one tiny thing: Please, please, PLEASE add a heel loop for pulling on shoes and for utility hanging to dry on a backpack. Collapsing and restoring the back of heel entry point countless times destroys its integrity while the rest of the shoe is incredibly durable. Otherwise, PERFECTION!

I buy the same model every two years and notice that the quality / durability seems to be decreasing with time.

This shoe fits my foot perfectly, comfortable with good support. Love the non-tie enclosure. Its my go-to waterproof trail walking shoe and Im very happy with it. My 3rd pair over the years and I hope Salomon keeps it in the lineup.

Put them in a bucket of water before I tried them. I'm not thrilled with the white toe or the laces, but I mainly wanted waterproof. I think the will be good. I've been breaking them in slowly.

This is my 3rd pair of speed cross. I use them for hiking. (Not trail running). I ordered them and received them on a Friday. Tried them on and walked around the yard, and Monday hiked to
The summit of Mt Washington. The fit and feel
Are very natural
In my feet.

I recently did a Tough Mudder and these shoes proved exceptional! I was watching the other participants run through the muck & mud and they were slipping & sliding all over the place-I was not! I even exclaimed, out loud, at one point, best shoes ever! Of course when I got home, they were completely encased in muck in mud, but I got them super clean just using my outdoor hose and they are back to practically being brand new! Id like to add as well that I did not need to break these shoes in. From the moment I put them on, they fit great.

This trail runner would have TEN STARS if that was an option. It is my second pair, I ADORED my first pair which lasted me 2 YEARS of daily trail trekking with my 96# Spinone Italiano.
I live in New Mexico and run in dry rocky terrain, some packed dirt trails, and also upper alpine country with water, mud, snow melt meadows filled with glorious flowers...I hope you get the idea. They grip when needed, no sliding on the chunky rocks. They are light weight (I am a 59 year old runner) and support my foot with just enough comfort and cushion, my knees are happy, my hips are happy...they are WONDERFUL

Great fit and feel, (good cushion, supportive build, and secure fit) save for one note. Coming from a zero drop shoe makes a 10mm drop feel like walking in high heels. It takes some time to get used to.

Great fit and feel with one caveat. Nice cushion, footbed, and a secure fit.. my only complaint initially was the 10 mm drop. I've been wearing a zero drop shoe for over a year, going back to a 10mm drop felt like wearing high heels. I've gotten used to it, but if you're coming from a zero drop it might take some getting used to. This pair is still new, but my past pairs wore through the sole pretty quick. We'll see how these hold up.

I own several pairs of Solomons and all have been great except these. I took them on a 14 mile hike and could barely walk by the end. I contacted customer service and they have not been helpful. These shoes are unwearable.

I love these shoes! That is why I purchased my third pair after wearing the soles out on the previous two. I got the Gore-Tex one this time because I anticipate some wet areas next spring. A little concerned that they would be hot, but they are not. Dont like the shoe lace storage cubby when wearing ties well as my previous pairs. I think Ive figured out.

Overall, this shoe is great, and I've found myself wearing it for just about everything. My feet feel very secure and springy in them. The one complaint is with the narrow sizing. I tried a larger size, but it was longer not wider. With thin socks, however, the B width will work. I'd love to see these in more vibrant colors!

I love the fit of this shoe. They are the most comfortable trail runners I have ever owned. The first pair I owned were/are fantastic. I still wear them as there is still quite a bit of tread.
I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because my second pair is already starting to come apart at the toe after two uses. I had to put new insoles in too because the original ones started to deform in the shoe causing a bit more friction than I would like. No one likes blisters.

This is my second pair of these shoes. They are 100% waterproof, and great outside on wet trails and Alaska beaches. Two caveats: the toe box is kind of narrow and can start to pinch/press on your toes after a couple of miles; and the traction is minimal on smooth wet surfaces (marble, tile, entry floors). Even with that, these are my go to summer dog walking shoes.

Amazing shoe lovely to walk in! But unfortunately my first wear up the hills in the lakes resulted in a small tear really gutted but would highly recommend otherwise.

Please do not EVER stop making these. Just bring us new colors! They are the perfect hiking shoe. You could hike around the world 10xs in these and never have a foot problem. They are the best!

Very comfortable with terrific features. I bought them to wear on safari, so I probably wont put them through all their paces, but think theyre perfect for what I need.

Love the fit, the comfort, the lacing. The sole is much harder than I prefer but otherwise a great trail shoe, esp in the snow and mud

The Gore-Tex feature makes these a great shoe for wet weather. And the deep lug soles mean I maintain traction on hilly trails.

Ive been a huge fan of Solomon, and the Speedcross shoe for quite some time. Ive had about 10 pairs over the years. I have absolutely loved them until now. This is the first time Ive stepped up to the gore tex model. Im not sure if it is the gore tex or across-the-board changes made in the Speedcross line when moving from the model 5 to the 6, but this is my first disappointment with Solomon. The shoe is much clunkier than previous versions, and seems to feel almost more like a lite hiker than the slipper like feel of my previous Speedcross shoes. Im still a fan of Solomon and will try again, but this one is a disappointment for me.

The shoes seem to fall apart after two years from purchase. The vendor has not accepted a complaint as the guarantee period has just expired. Highly unrecommended both as shoes and as brand and its customer service.
