These shoes are amazing for winter hiking! My first hike with them was along a river and I was walking on ice, along the edge of the river in the freezing water, and doing a bit of running to stay warm, and the shoes were great for everything. My feet stayed totally dry (and relatively warm), even walking in the cold water. Theyre also just super comfortable and light, which are both huge pluses.

A great combination of a lightweight and flexible shoe with higher ankle support and cushion to make every hike more enjoyable. I do get a bit frustrated that the lacing system essentially loosens after increased use, I cant figure out the best way to maintain appropriate tension. Otherwise a great shoe! Fits true to size.

I have used salomon hiking shoes for a long time and these are very comfortable as others. However, the lace system with a lock stopped working and the laces get loose very soon after I start hiking and need constant adjustment. I would love to continue using these shoes if the laces can be fixed.

I overlooked the speed lace feature and struggle every time I put them on. They are too long, the tuck in feature doesn't work and I can't get the tops tight enough to support my ankles. I do like the soles of these boots, good base for muddy, rocky trails.

I am size 6 but ordered a 6.5 and 7 based on other reviews regards the sizing. The 6.5 were just a tiny bit too short in length but fit perfectly snug, however, the size 7 were quite 'baggy' in comparison. Therefore both pairs were returned so I can't comment on their durability.

Very good looking shoe, but not "wide" at all. The toe box needs to be wider and more round vs. pointed. Also the lacing is annoying since it's so long, there's nowhere to tuck it in.

This is based on initial impressions only. The original Cross Hike is a much more comfortable shoe out of the box. This is at least partially due to cheap (NOT Ortholite) insoles in the Cross Hike 2. See attached image. As someone who has never had to replace standard insoles, I don't appreciate the additional, unexpected expense on a pricey pair of boots.
Also, the Cross Hike 2 feels narrower around the ball of the foot, although they look to be the same width on the outside. The Cross Hike 2 is slightly longer than the original.
I'll probably keep these, but I wouldn't buy them again.

Nice, light boots. Unfortunately I have to return them because they are a little narrow for my foot.

I bought this hikers shoes couple of weeks ago they are supposed to Goretex water proof I hope they will work for the West Coast wet season. I found this shoes to be narrow compared with other Salomon hiker or running shoes. I will appreciate if Salomon will have a larger selection of wide shoes since most of their shoes are ranking as narrow.

I've bought 2 pairs of these boots and they are really comfortable and need no breaking in but with both pairs after having them around a year the canvas material on the top of the foot has split on both sides letting water in. This is such a shame as I was hoping they'd last at least a couple of years. I've read this a few times with other reviews online so hoping the quality of the fabric is improved.

Really like these shoes however they have only lasted 6 months. The side of the shoe has come apart and is no longer sticking to the shoe so is no longer waterproof. Will be looking to buy a different pair which will be longer lasting

Unfortunately, the seam inside the boot rubbed the inside of my ankles. I was hoping they would fit like OUTline, which appeared to be discontinued.

I know Soloman fits on the larger size having had many of their other shoes. I ordered my normal size I get from this brand and these boots fit way larger than expected. They were also more on the more narrow side.
Otherwise the shoe feels great once the right size is acquired.

The lacing system on these boots does not hold the laces tight. I have to tighten the laces every 5 minutes. I am going to have to purchase replacement laces that I can tie and knot and that fit the skinny lace openings in the boot.

Hiked about 30km in these so far. I will keep them and wear them, probably for long trail walks and moderate day hikes in the shoulder season. The downsize is they are very sweaty. In the car before my hike, my socks were wet! This isn't normal for me and I don't have this problem with my other 2 Salomon shoes. Maybe the goretex will wear in and it will breathe better. I wouldn't wear them on a multi-day trip because of this- risky when it's cold, gross when it's hot. They are comfortable and sturdy enough while being light. On my last hike the toes felt tight. Not the wrong size, just no wiggle room in the top of the foot. Wouldn't really recommend them.. Would return if I could.

Shoe fit great very comfortable. Always wear around house. Grateful the way boot constructed the laces loosened up too much. Returned. Unable to rate durability.

Had these for around 2 months. They are one of the most comfortable boots I've ever worn but they are only waterproof for about 100 miles of use. Really disappointing as like I say they are super comfy.

Just came back from a walk, should I say a bad fall. The strings on the boots are way too long and as much as you try to tuck them in the stretch pocket, they come out and this time I was not my day, I stepped on the string and had a bad fall. Good thing I was walking and not running. Both knees bruised and very sore hands. This issue needs to be fixed. Won't buy again.

It took a while to arrive here and I have to say im a bit disappointed as they hurt my feet terribly that I cannot walk more than 10 minutes in them at any time. It makes me sad as the XT-slates are my favourite shoes and nowhere on the same comfort level.

These cross hike 2 do not fit like my cross hike. I'm very disappointed with my purchase. I've been wearing Salomon's for over 10 years. I'm going to try to find another pair of cross hike, if not I'll wait and see what the cross hike 3 will hopefully be better.

Had these for 2 months and sadly my feet get soaking wet when I have to walk through wet grass. Really disappointed with this style as I decided to re-buy after my previous ones fell apart in 6 months.
They are really comfortable (especially for narrow feet) and good to walk in when it's dry, and love closure on them but sadly not worth the money.

My feet usually don't hurt easily but these shoes make my feet hurt so much all the time. The shoe lace is also rly awkwardly designed. Similar to snowboarding boots but the string is too long and excessive string has no where to go. Won't buy from this brand again.
