The critical design flaw with the unadjustable laces completely ruined the potential for this to be a beloved new pair of pull-on boots... As so many others have said in reviews, it's like the laces were sewn to the boot by mistake! Comfy and cute, but I had no hesitation to return these pretty useless winter boots.

These waterproof ankle height boots are poorly designed. As previous comments note the top drawstring lace is for decoration only. It is nonfunctioning. Walking the dog on a sidewalk while wearing these boots is fine. Anything else is a possible safety hazard due to the top laces not being pulled snug and tied tight.

Disappointed that the bungee cord is only decorative over the top of the foot and cannot be adjustable because it's sewn down. I am able to tighten the heel with the cord and they are fairly comfortable, albeit looser than I'd like in the instep. I will keep them and just wear my DK weight handknit socks with them for a better fit.

These boots look great and seemed promising, but as so many have noted, they do not fully adjust! So they are very floppy and lace loops stick out-- hazardous! Also, the 3rd time I pulled them on, one of the straps at the back pulled right out of the boot! Total fail, Merrell. Not sure what has happened. I used to trust your brand.

The style was fun and the shoe itself was comfy. Sadly, the lace mechanism didn't allow you to tighten up the shoe where needed. I like a tight support around my upper foot and up to my ankle. The laces were permanently sewn on the sides of the boots no allowing an option to tighten. Infact, you couldn't move the laces on the top. Sadly, I returned them as I knew I needed a snugger support to avoid extra movement.

These were lightweight and comfortable, but the front laces were fixed and could not be tightened, so I could not get a good fit. I had to return them.

You can not tighten the area by your toes. The laces are sewn into the eyelets by the heal. So if you are going for looks, they look great.

Loved the idea, didn't like the boot. Given the design, I thought it would be easy to get these on, but that was not the case. Once inside the shoe, my heel slips a bit while the forefoot feels like it's locked in a half death grip. The length was fine, the width was not. Regarding the lacing, most of the lace is non-stretchy and is sewn down. The bungee part starts at the lower heel and it's easy to loosen and tighten it. I wear Merrell's barefoot shoes because of the wider toe box and wish these were built similarly.

Received these today, Nov. 1, 2022. Tried them on and the fit is not perfect. What I mean by this, is that the bungee cords around the forefoot does not tighten due to the lace loops being sewn in and not allowing the bungee cords to tighten around the ankle in the back area. Maybe this is a defective pair as I can't see how Merrell would overlook this. I am truly disappointed. It is a gorgeous boot! Sadly, I have to return these as the bungee cords ends up loose and sloppy looking across the top of the foot/boot area.

Had to return them. Incredibly stupid design. You can only tighten the lace around the ankle, but NOT around the foot. Much too loose.

These boots were a waste of money. I bought them in November and the bungees that lace them have broken so many times that I can no longer time them closed. The material seems rotten. I expect Merrill footwear to last for years not months. Very disappointing.

These are so ill ffitting.the drawstring is absolutely useless.

I had high hopes for these as they were just what I was looking for. However, there is a major flaw in the fact that the bungees are stitched down in two locations making it impossible to adjust them. You are left with an ill fitting shoe with loose bungees that can catch on anything not to mention that it looks terrible. The right shoe on the pair I received had an excessive amount of bungee that was threaded through a loop backwards which made it even worse. I am very disappointed in the quality control of your product and also the fact that you're still trying to sell this defective style. These are going back at no cost to me.

There are no laces for tightening this boot and there is a defect with the tightening strap. The strap is sewn down to the boot, rather than being able to freely move between the fabric grommets, thus making the user unable to tighten the boot. Until this can be corrected, the boot fits too loosely and is unable to be safely worn.

Complete design flaw. Why would you sew down the laces so they can't be tightened. It's absolutely ridiculous. Do not recommend for this ridiculous design flaw.

Extremely disappointed with not being able to adjust the laces across the foot. Only being able to adjust them at the back of the ankle renders these useless as a hiking winter shoe. They're more of a winter slipper.

I loved the style and was really disappointed to learn when they arrived that the fit is not really very adjustable. From the pictures, it looked like the laces across the instep continued to the back of the heel and around the ankle where the laces could be adjusted for a snug fit. However, the laces over the instep are sewn down at the bottom of the heell so they can't be adjusted at all. Only the lace that goes around the ankle can be adjusted with the little toggle at the back, I found even though I ordered the smaller of the two offered widths that without being able to adjust the laces over the instep the fit was just too wide and loose, and if I tried to pull the laces a bit more snuggly, I had these big sections of lace just hanging out over the sides of the shoe, which I thought would not be safe . I loved 5he look of these shoes and the sizing was good and they seemed like they would be comfortable but the lack of an adjustable lacing over the instep created issues.

Sorel doesn't make their foot wear like they use to ! Uncomfortable and the sizing is a crap shoot

These shoes look nice, and feel comfy. However, I had to return them as they fit huge and there is no way to tighten the foot part, only the heel can be secured. It's like the manufacturer accidentally secured the the stretchy laces to the side of the shoe so they cannot be tightened and the foot part is super loose.

I love Merrill & i was buying for the years for me & my family but these boots they look great, they are very light but they gave me corn/ blisters on my both feet small toes and I still have that and trying to remove in order not to bother me when I'm beating different shoes. I don't know how they gave me that corn to my toes when there is nothin inside or outside any stitches or something like that to give you that??!! So I would not recommend these boots.
