Hiking and walking. This is the gortex model that is great now that the rain has returned to the PNW, unfortunately the inner fold under the left side under the laces is more pronounced in this pair and has been rubbing my left foot. I've tried several pairs of socks and it's finally breaking in and smoothing out. I was on the fence about returning them.

Some pros and some cons. I like the design. There is enough water proofing that you can wear them in a shallow puddle or in wet grass, but the shoes are still very light weight. The traction is good for hiking. For me, there was not enough arch support or cushioning. With some expensive inserts, they're fine, but I was hoping they would work without inserts.

These shoes have the normal Oka comfort. I won't be able to wear them is because the top is too narrow.. i've already worn them once so unfortunately I can't return them. I really wanted them to work because I was hoping to find a hope that that was water resistant.

It took me a long time to decide whether to buy these shoes. I own the Clifton 9 and immediately fell in love with how they feel. So I was expecting to feel the same for these. I've worn them twice on trail hikes, and my feet were hurting both times. This last time I wore them, I developed a blister on my arch. I want to tell myself I am still breaking them In, but I'm unsure. I will give them one more chance, maybe tighten them more to prevent my foot from sliding. If my feet continue to ache, I will be forced to return them and look for another shoe, which pains me because I want them to work out. The shoes grip great when running down dirt hills without sliding, and the gortex is excellent when running or hiking through water.

This shoe is a bit clunky but I suppose that is to be expected with a weatherproof shoe however I was disappointed that my feet still got damp in the rain!

I can't wear the gender neutral shoe as I already have a narrow heel. Please make your shoes in more inclusive sizing for women and others who need longer length in a women's fit. There should be at GTX option for us hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. Thank you.

Love the traction and fit- do not like the short tongue I have nerve issues in my foot and laces are up above padded tongue- pressing on my foot very odd.

I wish they offered this in a wide version. It's too narrow for me. They have wide in the non-GTX version so I dont know what they can't offer a wide version for all their GTX line

I wanted to like them like the two other pair of Speedgoat's I have, but these fit differently, and not in a good way. The heel cup in these fit bigger and my heel sloshes around, which is not good when I need traction. I did try the 'runner's loop' to keep my heel down, but it only helps a little bit. They fit lengthwise perfectly, the cushioning is great, and I do love the spikes that are permanent.

I have been wearing non-Goretex versions of the Speedgoat for over a year and love the grip they provide for trail running. I thought the Speedgoat GTX would be perfect for an upcoming trip to Ireland, but sadly the heel fits totally different. The cup sits about 1/2" lower than the regular Speedgoat, which makes it feel like my heel is slipping out of them with each step (unless I tie them overly tight, which cuts off circulation). I will exchange for the regular version and pray for sunshine.

I own the regular Hoka speedgoats and love them. This GTX pair is terrible. The side in the able area comes up higher than the standard pair causing rubbing and blistering on both ankles in the same spot. Wish I could return, waste of money due to fit which of course I wouldn’t know til I hiked in them.

The shoes are beautiful but the fit is large. The inside of the shoe rubs against my toes so they are not comfortable

Loved this shoes for hiking and walking.. wore them twice on a walk and then on a hike.. comfortable only ONE complaint or I would of kept them.. for some reason the shoes constantly runbed on my ankles.. I thought maybe they needed me to break in but wore them for my hike and wow I wish I hadn't because of how bad the ankle rubbed became. Other than ankle rubbing they're comfortable but bummed about the one discomfort

I use it for walking and light jogging. I had speedboat gtx in green before these and the green ones were great. The green ones are out stock so I took these black ones and they are not the same. The cushioning is lacking and it hurts my feet.

I really wanted to like these but they are just not comfortable. They are tight across the toe and cause my toes to go numb which is a sign of ill fitting shoes. These are my third pair of Hoka so I ordered the same size I have before. These just don't fit right. I'm returning these and exchanging for the Bondi 8.

I have been buying Hoka shoes for a few years now but this time I'm disappointed. For all sport shoes brand I am a women's size 8 & so were my 2 pairs of Bondi shoes before. This time a size 8 is closer to a 9 or larger. I have no idea what happened. It was a waste of my time waiting for the shipment to come and returning the shoes.

I've run in many different different brands of trail shoes and have Speedgoats. When I bought this particular shoe, the tread has worn out so fast!!! Not even 200 miles on trails. I'm actually shocked, I don't start checking my tread until after 400 miles in most trail shoes (they turn into road shoes). I was sliding a lot on my 10th run in these shoes and tread was totally worn on heel of shoes. I'm changing to try Tecton and Mafate but am very disappointed in this shoe.

I've loved the hoka speedgoat for years. The Speedgoat 4's lasted me about 5 years. I run a ton and try to overnight hike on the weekends every chance I get. The inserts on the speedgoat 4's are next level, thick, cushiony and long lasting. When I bought the speedgoat 5's I did a comparison and the 5's don't even compare to the quality of the 4's. The understanding are cheap, the tread has worn out already and the foam on the bottom is clearly punctured. I'm disappointed in the poor quality of this new generation of speedboats, therefore, will be trying out a different brand in for future.

I bought these shoes with the hopes that they would keep my feet drier while running through river crossings. Instead the shoes retained the water and then some. I had to stop each time dump the water out of my shoes and try to drain as much out as possible before putting them back on. Caused blisters that eventually popped. These shoes are not meant for water.

I admittedly have wide feet so I ordered a half size up but the way these are shaped it just cuts across my foot and pinches my toes. They are too uncomfortable to walk in let alone run in. Unfortunately my husband threw away the packaging so I cannot return them.

I really wanted these to fit... in contrast to most Hokas I see, I really like the look of these, and I need a pair of water resistant trail shoes. But alas, my weak ankle didn't like the way they fit. I didn't find these especially soft-riding either.

This would've been my 6th pair of Gtx Speedgoats, 11th pair of hokas. The fabric coloring (I ordered black) looks cheap. And the heel is loose - which I've never had in a shoe before. Even when I tie them as tight as possible. I took them to a shoe store and they said they do fit in the toe and I shouldn't size down. I need waterproof, so I don't know what im going to order instead. I'm disappointed if hoka's quality is going down, because the look and fit of this shoe is not good.
