Extremely aggressive tread works great in the sand and soft environments.

I use these for hiking. They are my favorite hiking shoes now. My feet don't get near as fatigued and they stay cooler. Grip and balance are spot on.

this shoe has amazing foothold, traction, and cushion.

Wish I had tried these earlier in life. Phenomenal look and really really comfy. After wearing these and putting on shoes I thought were comfortable and shock absorbing, my first thought was I need to throw away my old shoes so I don't hurt my feet.

I appreciate the pull tab on the heel and the slightly more structured feel as compared to the speedgoat. Really great shoes!

By far the best trail running and adventure shoe on the market. The for exceeds that of the Speedgoat 5 and has exceptional durability on the tread and upper material. I have over 600 miles on two pairs and just purchased my third.

The Mafate Speed 3s were my favorite and I was worried the 4s couldn't live up to them. While the 3s looked way faster with that sweet fade :) the 4s are a better ride. The 4s feel both more cushy and more responsive.

Very comfortable shoe with lots of support, very durable. I am wearing them in a deployed location and needed something with more stability and durability in different conditions. These hit the nail on the head!

I would say these are extremely comfortable. Im a tall and heavier guy and these shoes are very responsive and feel like you're walking on clouds. The fit felt nice and snug but worn in exactly as I hoped. Don't change this shoe.

I wear them everyday! So they are looking worn. I must buy more lol

I recently needed better shoes for long walks and ended up with the Clifton 9. Since the shoes were so fancy, I started a Couch to 5k program to try and get myself back in shape. Then, I signed up for a four-race trail running series and picked up the Mafate Speed 4. I am not an accomplished runner, but the aches and pains of sitting at a desk too much motivated me, and my Hoka shoes have been fantastic! I'm slow and struggle, but I keep doing the workouts my new running coach tells me to do, and I know I have great shoes for the task. The traction on the Mafate has been exceptional! Between my two pairs of Hoka shoes, I have about 40 miles of training, so I am not an expert. But I am very happy with my Hoka shoes!

They strike a perfect balance between comfort, protection, and performance.

Although I am not a runner, I play lots of golf. Most of my rounds are walking....with an average of about 54-72 holes per week of walking. My go to golf shoes were $200 Adidas which were fine until about 2 years ago...I came down with plantar fasciitis. My feet hurt sooo bad that I couldn't hardly walk anywhere, let alone walk 18 holes on a golf course. After 3-4 months of almost no improvement with my foot pain, my son-in-law (who runs marathons) told me to get a pair of Hokas....I got the Clifton 8. Within a few days my feet started to feel better and in a few weeks I started walking more & more on the courses again vs renting golf carts. This last week I researched all the Hoka shoes to see if any if them come close to a golf shoe. I decided that the Mafate Speed 4 was the best choice....and WOW was I right. The grip on the grass is better than my Adidas with black widow spikes and the grip in the dirt is amazing. But the best benefit of all is the amazing comfort!! Thank you Hoka for making an awesome non-golf golf shoe. Good bye plantar fasciitis!

I live in Colorado and am very active. This is my 7th or 8th pair of all terrain hokas. I usually go with the speed goat model, but decided to branch out. These are a little firmer with good support, yet still soft underneath. It is a great balance. Very happy with this model and of course hoka brand.

Shoes are very comfortable for walking and jogging.

I use them to walking and cycling. They're very comfortable with plenty of traction. The outsole toughness is perfect for cycling.

I have about 120 miles on this shoe so far and love them. The midsole reaches that sweat spot for me with just the right balance of cushioning and responsiveness. I used to be a champion of the Speedgoat line until v5 which changed the midsole. That's when I switched to this shoe and I'm sold. it's almost perfect for me ( just wish it came in a wide version) I routinely run on some rocky steep terrain and the combination of the cushion of the midsole and the traction of the vibram sole make for an awesome run

The difference between these and my adi-das running shoes is huge, So comfortable. I walk all day at work, awkward at first but feel perfect only wish there were more colors in this style!

With somewhat wide feet, I was not quite happy with the Speedgoat 5, nor it's loose feeling upper and a few other things. This shoe has really been what I was looking for! Lightweight but cushioned, aggressive lugs that don't feel out of place on stretches of pavement, and a very comfortable but not loose toe box. Sure hope they keep this on the market for a while! The shoe feels really durable as well.
