These are my favorite running shoes! I was almost killed in a high-speed motor vehicle accident, on 12/24/2009. I’ve now had 15 surgeries in 12.5 years, and my feet have been operated on a total of 7 times. Basically, I’ve had a hell of a time finding any shoes that actually work for all the physical issues I have now. These not only have a spacious toe box, but their “Metarocker” sole improves my awful gate. I LOVE the colors too! Overall, they’re a win-win for me. It’s taken me 12.5 years to find shoes that work, and these are amazing! They also accommodate my insole on the right foot (my bad foot). They aren’t too tight, and just really make my feet feel comfortable all day while wearing them. I love these shoes Hoka!

Never worn the Mach style of Hoka before I bought the Mach 5. Compared to the Hoka Bondi 7, the Mach 5 feels a slight bit larger, which makes it roomier for socks. The tongue is very thin, perforated, and has 2 padded areas, one along the top and the second off to the side on each foot. The heel has a rather unique (to me) shape at the top, but does make it easy to pull on. Worn 3 times for dog walking; very comfortable and cushiony.

I have worn Hoka's for over 5 years and own probably 8-10 pairs. I am a little hesitant about buying them online but felt confident of authenticity buying them here. I have to say that the quality of these shoes were definitely not up to par. So, unsure whether these are not authentic or if the quality shoes by this manufacturer has gone downhill but, I had to return them. Sad because this is the only running shoe I like.

Love these more than the Mach 4. These have more protection yet feel extremely lightweight and help me with my speed runs and long runs. I use these shoes interchangeably for this purpose. I understand some people enjoyed the Mach 4's but i think they had very poor durability. Once the 4's wore out, my legs and knees felt it immediately. I had aches doing my long runs in the 4s and I think they were more of a speed shoe, even though they did not feel like they gave off enough protection or bounce. The Mach 5's have a superior feel and have not deteriorated since I began running in them. I average 34-40 miles a week. I feel faster in these and more light. They give off a great BOUNCE in each step. Running shoes are subjective to one's experience, for me , the 5s are perfect and will keep repurchasing. (please do not make any drastic changes in the future Hoka) :)

Not the shoe for me. The tongue on this shoe did not have a place for the laces to go through the middle and keep them up. Perhaps my foot was too narrow for the padding on the tongue which I believe was intended to hold it up with the laces pulled tight to work. It kept sliding down and cause immense pain on the top of my foot after wearing them for a couple of hours and not noticing. I rested my foot for a couple weeks and tried again working hard to try and keep the tongue up. It would not stay up and now my foot would swell quicker. This is the first pair of Hoka's I ever had problems with. I exchanged them for a different pair.

I was recommended this shoe after having shin issues because of a high heel to toe drop. I realized that I needed something more neutral and these have not only let me run without pain again but they've made me enjoy running again. I love the colors and you really can feel the cushioning despite them not having a high stack.

Let me start with the fact that I am not a runner but am looking for a comfortable and supportive sneaker (I have Plantar Fasciitis in my left). I tried three different Hoka's- Bondi 8, Clifton 9 and Mach 5. I am typically a size 6M, but in the Hoka's the 6.5M was the better fit for my foot in all three styles. The Mach 5 was the winner of the three styles. All three were comfortable right out of the box, so my decision came down to the finer points. The Bondi was a bit too roomy in the toe box, and while I felt firm support of my heel, the arch support was not there compared to the other two styles. The Clifton 9 had the cushiest feel but was wider in appearance and the white/white is a pure bright white. The Mach 5 that I chose is a softer white with copper detailing. It was lighter in both appearance and weight on the feet while still providing great comfort and support. Very happy with my choice.

I'm between an 8.5 and a 9 (because my feet are wide). These sneakers were INSANELY comfortable right out of the box. Don't feel too long or too tight. Love the style. FYI: the "white" is slightly pink. Very happy with them.

when i first started running i knew little to nothing about the importance of wearing the proper shoes. My first pair of hokas were clifton 7s, which felt like clouds compared to every single other shoe i had ever run in (nikes and asics). Once those got worn out i got the clifton 8s which i also loved just as much. These, however, are on a whole other level. I feel like the support in the clifton's is pretty evenly distributed throughout the foot, whereas these have extra padding on the heel area which makes running very cushy and bouncy. I feel like I'm flying when i run in these. They're absolutely weightless and very breathable, making it feel as though i'm not wearing anything at all. I have never worn a more comfortable shoe in my life. I love these. I got them in white and copper, and they look so sleek and fresh. 10/10 recommend. way better than clifton's

I am just your everyday runner, maybe 2 miles every other day. So I can't speak for long distance intense running. But I find these the most comfy running shoes I have owned!! I tried the Kawana and Clifton 9 and they were both weirdly narrow in the toe box (I don't have a wide foot). These ones fit so good, are light and springy!!

I have plantar fasciitis and this brand was recommended to me. Wish I had bought these sneakers sooner! I feel as if I'm walking on a cloud, my feet aren't as painful and I can enjoy walking again. Very stylish as well and I've received many compliments. A few of my friends are now Hoka fans as well!!

I am a size nine is all footwear except Hoka. I wear an 8 1/2 in Hoka because the nine is too big. Other than that, I love the shoes.

This is my 2nd pair of Machs, because my first pair got a bit dirty but they are still awesome to wear. I love these shoes- most comfortable I've ever owned. Use for light trail walking and all other walking (asphalt, sidewalk, indoors, etc.). I wear them anywhere anytime I can.

I generally run outside and occasionally on the treadmill. These shoes are light and responsive. I enjoy my runs but the shoes make me look forward to my runs even more. These are my first pair of Hokas and I am a fan.

I wear these everyday and to go on walks. There is plenty of room in the toe box and great arch support. Lots of cushion for your heel as well.

Plenty of cushion for long hour wear however the size seems to be larger than my regular brand of shoe and the tongue slips down causing discomfort at top of foot

Hoka has a way of making a shoe I love and then discontinuing it. I loved their Tracers and then they had the Tivra. Now I'm using the Mach 5 and they are comparable to the Tracer and Tivra. Flexible, enough padding to protect my feet from the road but not enough to keep me from feeling the road. I want strong feet. Too much "support" prevents that. I also like the minimal toe heal drop. Again, a more natural feel. Minimalist shoes are too minimalistic for me. The Mach 5 is a good compromise. Hoka, please keep this in mind when deciding to discontinue shoes. Not everyone wants pillows on their feet.

RN here. I don't know that any shoe would keep my feet from hurting after a 12+ hour shift, but my feet hurt way LESS in these Hokas. For me, they're the perfect combination of cushiony, stable, and - most importantly - roomy enough in the toe box to keep my Morton's neuroma cool and calm. That's HUGE for me. In addition, I've gotten too many compliments to count. We wear navy scrubs, and the white/blue glass color looks SO cool (although I just now saw the white/flame so maybe...?). Hokas seem to be pretty popular at my hospital, so that's saying something! Haven't run in these yet, but when my other Hokas wear out, I would certainly be confident replacing them with the Mach 5.

These shoes are awesome!! I have multiple Hoka shoes and these are my faves. They have the best arch support and a wider toes box. I have narrow heels, and an old big toe injury a lot of other shoes bother, and the Mach 5 are just what I needed. I just purchased another pair in a different color. I
