The breeze's are great trail runners. Cushioning is definitely neutral and not plush. Sizing is spot on. The only real complaint is, for a shoe with "breeze" in it's name, the air flow could be better. I can't wear Sox with them.

This could be much better with a plush cushion. Light on my feet and I've been wearing it walking around to break it in. Will be taking it on a hike soon, hopefully it will hold up.

While the best of quality, the shoe was oversized, stiff. Sill Love Hoka.

I have these shoes on right now. They are the Best! Comfortable, stable, plush, and good looking!

These hiking shoes are well made, stable, nicely cushioned and have nice soles. But although the forefoot is comfortably wide, the toe box tapers inward towards my big toes and causes friction with every step. I really wanted to love these shoes but had to return them.

As a day hiker in southern Arizona these have met my needs and expectations so far. I do feel the construction is good with quality materials and I expect to have these for a while. People should know these are by design higher off the ground and may be problematic for someone prone to rolling ankles, the flip side of that is they are very well cushioned to protect your feet against more prominent rocky terrain while remaining responsive. The rocking motion of the shoe does feel propulsive when cruising at a consistent pace. I do feel that they took one hike to break in. I think my only small critic would be that I feel the toes are slightly under protected especially in my very rocky trail environment compared to my last day hiker shoe. But, overall I think these are good for someone who wants breathability with protection and deeper cushioning, which is part of the Hoka DNA. I'm very pleased with this purchase so far and would recommend

Good-looking, light weight, heel is well cushioned, but the 8 mm drop didn't work for me as a hiking shoe. It pitched me forward with each step which ultimately was tiring to my calves and thighs. Might be better suited as a trail runner, but for me, not for walking/hiking. I will return and look for a 0-5 mm drop hiker.

BACKGROUND: Walking nearly 20,000 steps a day took a toll on my feet. Developing plantar fasciitis, I looked for shoes with more cushion. I tried both the Hoka Bondi 8 and the Clifton 9 models. While the Bondi 8's were painful, the Clifton 9 was PERFECT! The plantar fasciitis pain went away immediately. I bought SIX pairs of Clifton 9's, getting extras as they were being discontinued, just in case. With a family vacation planned to Rocky Mountain National Park, I knew we were going to be hiking a lot. I already had a pair of Columbia Men's Konos TRS hiking shoes, but knew they were going to get wet. Also, with some lighter hikes, I wanted plush and lightweight hiking shoes. While the Clifton 9's are great for pavement or dry Texas gravel walkways, the foam bottoms were not a great match for mountain hikes with melting snow. Seeking something with more of a hiking sole that could take a beating, and do a better job protecting my feet on rocks and roots, I searched the Hoka site for something plush like the Clifton 9, but more rugged. That landed me on the Hoka Anacapa Breeze Low. Also considered the Anacapa 2 Mid GTX, Anacapa Breeze Mid, hallenger 7, Kaha 3 GTX, Kaha 3 Low GTX, Speedgoat 6, and Mafate X models. But the Anacapa Breeze Low seemed to be the best model for me based on the description, stats, weight, photos, and reviews. Out of the box they looked like exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, they weren't it. On my very first walk, they hurt my feet. The heel drop wasn't a good match for my mid-heel gait. They reminded me of the discomfort I felt with the Bondi 8's. Also, they were not available in wide sizes, which should not have mattered. But there was a serious pinch point on the outside of my toes. After a few tries, I returned them. If you love the Bondi 8, then the Anacapa Breeze Low will be perfect for you.

I ordered these in the same size as my Speedgoats which are labeled 9.5 but when the Ancapas arrived today, I noticed the size is tagged "9.5D" wondering if this is the reason the fit is so strange? They feel nearly a full size bigger than the Speedgoats and much wider. I'll be exchanging them for a 9 and hoping the fit is a bit better on those.

Great aesthetic appeal, but too stiff for daily walking. The one I ordered was a regular width and too small for me

The shoes fit good, not sure they as good as some people hyped them up. 3 days after wearing them they started squeaking as you walk every step.

After only 2 or 3 wears, the sides of the soles are already peeling off (the white color is peeling off).

These shoes initially were amazing. Love Hoka. However, the sole began to fall apart after a few wears so I had to return. This is the first time this ever happened with Hoka and is not characteristic of these shoes.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks, ASICS

I bought the male version of this shoe for my boyfriend. He's a true 8.5M but said his toes were very crunched in the toe box. Will be exchanging for either a Wide size or will go up to a 9.

I buy this goretex shoe for walking at work. I wear it on the average of 3 1/2 days per week for 32 weeks per year.these shoes are worn out just after 22 weeks. This shoe causes me to strongly favor the outside heel on both left and right side and wear them out before they should. Othe holas do not wear the heels out drastically like these do.

Love the shoes and the way the feel. But the bottoms have large open areas of just soft foam like the running shoes. So when you return from a hike you need to pull all the thorns out. The bottom needs to not have the exposed soft foam.

General wear! Great shoe as nearly always in the 10-12 pairs I owned. This particular shoe is not sized correctly! See below. Also have another pair that I wore 4-5 times and they developed a squeak when I walk. Can't find a reason but can't wear then. They are expensive shelf shoes!!! Below is info on the Anacada's

It's way too narrow and suprisingly the Vibram sole (which I'm a huge fan off) came off on day 2. Still giving it 3 stars cos I love HOKA as a brand. The idea behind the shoe is also amazing. Just make it wider guys. It's the future. Or the present really.

Got this shoe for a festival I have in September that traverses hills and grass/sand/dirt terrain. I have no issues with the comfort level of these shoes but I used them for moving out of my apartment and feet were sore after a single day of use. Ended up switching to something else for the second day. Perhaps the break in period.
