The pinch across my toes was too much for me to break in, even just wearing thin stockings. I'm normally on the upper end of a normal foot width, and wear an 8.5 or 9. The 9 fit lengthwise but was just too narrow.
Otherwise found the craftsmanship & leather to be a good quality -- worth a try if you have narrow feet.

I like how well made these boots are and the overall look. I really like how easy they are to pull on. But they are too narrow, so I returned them.

I lusted after these boots for about a year before I actually purchased them. However, theyre not perfect. The toe box is super narrow, so I had to exchange for one size bigger. Outside of the sizing, the sole is just extremely slippery. Polished concrete? Slideeeee. Wet cobblestone? Slideeee. Marble? Slideeee
Wish I could love thesebut i think were all better off with the commuter boots.

When I received these boots, I was very excited. I was looking to upgrade to a boot that I could get resoled as needed, instead of replacing every year or two. I read the care instructions very carefully, wore them in house a few hours at a time to break in, put on sole protectors, etc. Unfortunately, the second time I wore them outside, the back tab ripped. I emailed customer service, they offered to send me a label to have the tab repaired by their preferred cobbler or to get it repaired locally and have that cost reimbursed. I opted to get it repaired by their preferred cobbler. When the boot came back, the repair job was just awful; stitches were missing, thread was hanging off and there was a big gob of shoe glue. To their credit, when I reached out and showed them photos of the repair, they offered me a refund or replacement. I opted to go with a different style of boot, because it seems like this one fundamentally has construction issues with the tab. I seriously commend their dedication to sustainable solutions, I would not have minded wearing the repaired boot if I had any faith that the repair was done properly. Their customer service has been top notch, but I think there are some quality control issues that should be addressed.

After reading all the reviews I bought a size nine and although a little snug I had thought they would loosen up. They have not. I still love them and bare the pain but I really shouldnt....

I had listened to previous reviews and ordered up a half size, but they were way too big, so I ended up exchanging for my regular size 7.5. I love the style and color of the boot. But, the one boot did come with 2 noticeable stains on the front toe are. Look like oil spots? Since I had already exchanged for different size, and that return literally took 1 month to complete on Nisolo's end, I decided to just keep the boot and deal with the stain rather than deal with exchanging again.

Per Nisolo's instructions, ordered a half size up from my regular size. Wintertime means thick socks, so it felt like a no brainer. Tried them on and was pretty disappointed. Even with thick socks, these were still too long and led to a considerable amount of heel slipping. If you have narrow / average width feet, do not order a half size up. The fit instructions are quite misleading.

I love the shape of this boot and the triangle elastic on the side that makes this a unique chelsea. After reading reviews I did order a size up but the boot feels clunky and oversized instead of sleek the top of the boot is taller on my ankle than I expected.
The quality is also not nearly what I expected, especially for the price. There is black paint/polish from the shoe upper clearly smudged on the edge of the brown sole as if someone literally painted the shoe and did a messy job.
Ive had the shoes for a few weeks now so still breaking in, but definitely not impressed with the sizing situation. Overall I still like these but could have gotten a comparable pair for half the price at a department store where I would have actually been able to try them on and ensure proper fit.

The website suggested sizing up so I got an 8 even though Im normally a 7.5, and unfortunately the boots are huge on me. I like the way they look, but the fit isnt ideal.

Firstly, these are gorgeous. I could not be happier with the appearance! My beef is with the sizing specifically for my size: I am a solid, unwavering 9.5. I ordered a 10 due to the encouragement to do so on the site and the reviews, because I want to be able to wear thicker winter socks with them. Immediately they felt big in the heels- so big my heel was sliding out of place with every step. My toes didnt quite touch the ends of the shoes yet felt tight, but the shoes are very narrow through there and I figured that was what to expect. I went back to the reviews hoping someone else had experienced this, and sure enough one other review also mentions the wide heel in the 10, but all the reviews said going up a half size was perfect, so I gave it a shot. Its now been a few days as I was hoping the shoes would form to my feet a bit as leather tends to do, but they havent- theyre just too big. The half size thing failed me. And, since I wore them a bit outside, I cannot exchange them for a 9.5. So, Im out of luck with 230 bucks down the drain, but this is not a bad review these are incredible shoes, beautifully made, comfortable, versatile, etc. I highly recommend them. For most, going up a half size is perfect. But a word of caution to 9.5/10 ladies- the fit is off, and returning them after trying to make them work isnt an option.

First, the good:
- The leather softens quickly - at first I got a few hot spots where the top of the shoe rubbed against my calf, but that's no longer an issue
- I love the triangle on the sides instead of the big rectangle of elastic you often see with chelsea boots
- The color is great for me, but be aware it is quite a red brown
- the height of both the heel and where it hits over my ankle is perfect. It's also the rare boot that doesn't look positively huge on my tiny feet (more on that below)
- Fashion-wise, they do look great. I always feel like my outfit has been elevated when I put them on.
The not-so-good:
- I know this is well documented and Nisolo does everything possible to tell you their shoes are narrow and to size up, but my feet are a true 35/36 or 5.5/6 in US, and if I sized up to 6.5 my heels would be coming up at the back of the shoe. I went for a 6 and they do fit, but when I put them on in the morning my toes are squished while the length of the shoe is perfect. I have to give it time every morning while they expand to my toes. Hopefully over time they will stay stretched out. It's so extreme that I would call it a design flaw to be fixed, not a quirk of the shoe sizing to be called out. Hopefully they'll fix this for future seasons.
- The color on the shoes was applied unevenly the front of the shoe was significantly lighter than the back half, and you could see streaks in the color from messy application. For shoes this expensive I would expect to not see any indication of color application at all, let alone inconsistencies and streaks.
Though I have more positives than negatives, the two negatives are big ones for me. I expect a certain level of base quality when spending this much on clothing or shoes, and compared to other expensive ethical brands I'm devoted to, these didn't hit that quality bar. But they are beautiful!

The boots were undeniably beautiful when I opened the box, but unfortunately there were two major issues. For starters, one of the boots had a glaring difference in the leather coloring-- it looked as though it was made from various swatches of leather. The front part by the toe was much lighter, and the heal area was about two shades darker. It was obvious enough to where it looked like a defect. Secondarily, like others have said, the sizing was totally wonky. The boots run very narrow in the toe, and loose in the heal. Going up a size would have maybe fixed the toe issue, but my heal was already slipping in my normal sizing. Wanted to love, but had to return...

I really like the premise of this company, and there items are pretty.
This is my 3rd pair of shoes.
They are always too narrow for my feet, so I use shoe strechers in them for about a week.
These in brandy scuff really easily.
The loop on the back broke the first time I put my shoes on.
Also, not as cute in person (subjective, plus Im not a model so )

These boots are fantastic! However, the pull tab on the back is not functionable as my broke when putting them on for the second time. Also, the soles are very slippery. Nisolo is repairing my boots' pull tab and once I have them back I will need a cobbler to add grips to the sole. I want to love these so bad but I am already disappointed in the quality.

I was so excited for these boots. I had been eyeing them for months before taking the plunge. The quality seemed amazing and the leather is so incredibly soft. They were very comfortable and the size was right, however the opening around my ankle was so tiny that they looked really unflattering on my legs (my lower calves/upper ankles were bulging out). I also didnt love how pointy the toes were. They actually made me look short and stalky. I am 56 and 135lbs with a pretty average build, so it was really disappointing that these didnt fit well. I think they would work great if you are super tall and slim.

These boots are so beautiful, with high quality leather and stitching. I love love love love love them, but my feet are not happy with me. I figured that I could get away with the size 10 because they would stretch to accommodate my feet across the toe box... I'm hoping with several more wears (I've worn them about 5 times for short periods with socks and 4 times for varying longer periods up to 8 hours) they'll eventually soften up. Would love if they could go up to a size 11 as I want to purchase more shoes!

I was tempted to return these when I got them, but I decided to be patient and break them out, which took weeks of wearing them before it was comfortable. Now just a month and a half after receiving my shoes, the leather where my toes bend most is splitting open. Even cheap $50 fake leather boots don't do that. I haven't worn them in rough climates, storms, or rocky environments. Mostly out and about and at work. With the brand's reputation, I'm sure it might just be a faulty pair. I hope so. But at least be prepared to break them in for a while. The look amazing and sophisticated, and are perfect for every day.

The boots definitely run narrow. I sized up half a size and still found it too narrow. I tend to have narrow feet, and they are still too narrow for me. I brought them to the cobbler to get topy-ed. The cobbler took one look at them and said "whoa, those are narrow!" Also, the left boot was definitely more narrow than the right. My friend has her left foot one half size bigger than her right, and she tried it on and still found the left one tighter. We also measured the height of the toe space between each boot, and could visibly see that the left had less space than the other. I'll have to spend additional money to get the shoes stretched by the cobbler, which is quite a hassle.

I ordered a half size up (from 7.5 to 8) but after wearing these shoes out and about, I wish I had purchased an 8.5-- the pointed toe has still been bit harsh on wider feet like mine. They're comfortable enough for a desk job, but if your commute involves walking, you'll definitely feel it later. They're such beautiful shoes, I wish they had fit me better!

I ordered this Chelsea boot hoping it would work for me although the reviews mentioned how narrow it is. Sadly, it was too narrow for me. I love everything else about this boot, but had to return it. Nisolo, please widen this shoe!

I wanted these boots for a long time, and my boyfriend bought them for me as a Christmas gift. I am a TTS 10, but the 10s are uncomfortably tight. They are beautiful and very well made, but unfortunately they are so snug I can't really wear them, or at least not for a long time or if I will be walking much. It breaks my heart! I really should have just returned them, but I was hoping that they would break in and soften up a bit, so I wore them out several times. So if you're smaller than a size 10, I fully recommend these boots, just size up! (I also have the James oxford in size 10, and those fit very well.)

Not the most comfortable unless worn with thick socks or an insole. Also not practical to wear in the rain or when there's still some ice/salt out. But the design is beautiful and the leather finish is gorgeous as well
