Great shoes..Love them!!

The Gizeh Braided is my first pair of Birkies, and I must say I can now understand why my brother and sister have always raved about their Birkenstocks! The fit feels perfect with superior arch support and the comfort of the sunken heel cup that allows my arches to be well-cradled, enhancing the comfort even more. Since I usually wear a size nine shoe that falls between the Birkenstock size guide, I ordered sizes 39 and 40. The size 39 felt perfect the moment my feet slipped into them, with the unopened size 40 now being returned. I often order multiple styles and sizes to have a useful fitting and styling experience in the comfort of my home, which works great for me and often results in loving multiple pairs that never make it to the return status!

Runs a little big, wear a Size 8 but went down a size in this shoe.

Great shoe. Maybe my 5th pair. I love the braid on the strap.

I got these in black leather and returned them even though I love the upgrade of the braid. Unfortunately the silver hardware clashes because I wear gold jewelry. My past Gizeh's have always had the black or steel colored hardware - this hardware is VERY silver so I traded them in for a new pair of the tried and true originals with the black hardware.

The Gizeh braided sandal was very cute, however; after trying on the underside of the braid was scratchy and uncomfortable for top of foot and the left sandal I'm afraid will hurt my heel (recent flare of heel spur). They would soften up with time I'm sure but still too expensive to wear out and not be able to return. Love Birkenstock, may try another pair with soft footbed and plain toe strap, already have the Arizona with soft footbed that are many years old and wear like a glove. Unfortunately have to return.

I bought these for a casual wedding. Like all Birkies for me they take some time to «  break in »… But I’m sensitive… this is the first pair of « flip flops » since I was a kid. I needed moleskin. If you’re used to this should be no problem. Despite these issues they are cute not as bulky as the usual Birkies. I recommend them!

The leather was too stiff and rubbed on my foot. There are other Birkenstock styles that have a lot leather and it is much softer.

Cute style. Quality shoe. Unlike other Birks, this style will require some breaking-in. Don’t expect to wear them far right out of the box.

Loved this shoe, wanted to keep it, but the top end of the leather rubbed on my toe and it was uncomfortable. Sadly returned.

I think because these Birkenstocks don’t wrap around your foot and they have just the piece of leather that goes at the center of your foot it causes them to be more spacious and feel bigger. So, you don’t need quite as big of a size as you might think.

I love how these look and they fit the same as any other Birkenstock I've bought. I agree with other reviewers that the plastic piece that goes between your toes is a little hard to get used to. For now, I'm wearing them around the house to toughen up my feet.

I love Birkenstock Gizeh sandals….in fact I have 11 pairs in various colors and designs and have had some resoled. I have been waiting for a solid navy pair for years and was so happy to see this pair. But….this is the only pair that I have received that were uncomfortable. I have a high instep and the part of the braid that extends past the cross strap is just long enough to poke me in the top of my foot where it bends. Much to my regret I had to return them and am again waiting on a solid navy Gizeh sandal.

This particular design of Birkenstock was smaller than the other pairs that I have purchased in the past. They seemed narrower and smaller entirely. I had to return because the fit would not work. They are a wonderful shoe and look great otherwise.

Excellent sandals, but I returned them and kept the Big Buckle Gizeh in the same cognac color just because I liked the bold look more, but if you want something less shiny than big buckles, these beaded sandals are perfect. They are sublime. Zappos was great at making returns easy and issued refund the minute I took my box to UPS and it was scanned. That’s the level of customer trust to be admired.

I love these shoes. The braid needs to be stretched once first received. My only complaint is after wearing them I have noticed some places where the sealant over the cork and rubber sole is too much and bubbled. I wish I would have seen it before I wore them for a week, it is enough that I would have returned for a replacement.

Good fit, I have another pair of the same style however my right foot is a little irritated by the cloth which I figure once I break in should be fine.

Will update review after I try out a smaller size. I’m normally a size 6.5 or a 7. so I originally went with a size 37. When I got the shoes (super fast shipping) they were too big, so I used the box that had a sizing guide on it to size my foot. It sized me at a 36. So I just purchased that size and we will see. I love the look of the braided style and I really need a comfy shoe, so I’m hoping these work. I’ve never owned a Birk, so I’m guessing I’ll need to work them in and as others have suggested, bend them back and forth a few times and adjust the buckle.

Love the sandal! But the middle needs broken in, quite painful to wear.

I like the look of these sandals, but the braided strap rubs the top of my foot which makes it uncomfortable.

Liked the sandal but find that this style is no longer comfortable for me.

These rubbed a spot raw on top of my foot! Maybe my foot is too bony?? But ouch.
