Poor quality. Fabric is rough and feels like plastic. Returned immediately

I ordered a large, which I typically wear in LL Bean clothes, and had to send it back for a medium and it is STILL way too big! (I don't own a medium in anything else). It's like wearing a big sack or something... Heavy, loose, stretches out easily. Material is rough. I wish I would have sent it back again, but I didn't because I thought I would wear the medium over a flannel. It is still far too large. It goes down below my butt and I have a big butt! Haha. I just don't like the fit at all. I regret not sending it back. The color is pretty. (I ordered the green/beige mixture which doesn't look produced anymore). I know most LL Bean clothes run larger, but this is way too big.

I bought two of these as gifts - one in navy and one in beige. I would be embarrassed to give the beige one to anyone. Whatever the "yarn" is they use in China looks filthy, and very cheap. It doesn't look anything like the sweater on the model. It's going back.

Very sad to be disappointed by this sweater. I was very excited to order it. I'm wearing it today, and I feel like it's stretched to be significantly longer and baggier as the day has gone on. Maybe because it's kind of heavier material (which I otherwise would not mind) But it's super not flattering. Maybe I could have gotten an x-small size, but generally, I prefer a small or medium fit. I like the material and color, but yeah, fit is not good. I already took off the tags, but can't say I'd recommend the sweater to others.

Liked the style and was looking forward to getting it after seeing it on a friend. But it was too long. Turning up the cuffs would have been OK, but the tunic was too long to be flattering. Sorry to have to return it.

I wanted this sweater for so long and treated myself on a sale. My excitement turned to disappointment when i tried it on. The size was right, but that was the only positive. I didn't find the neck to be as wide as others mentioned, but the sweater was very heavy and the "yarn" was more like cotton twine. (Maybe it's a fisherman sweater because they knitted it with the same stuff they use to make fishing nets?) Somehow it managed to both hug and bag at the same time; sort of like it would fit if you put it on while it was wet. And the zippers...again, too heavy and bulky. Zipped they pulled the sweater weirdly around my butt; unzipped they were clanking around my hips and felt like they'd get caught on the sweater and pull the yarn. They need to ditch the zippers - a small vent or buttons would be better - and make it with softer, lighter weight yarn and I'd give it another try.

I had really high expectations for this sweater, based on all the reviews and other LL Bean purchases. This item was so surprisingly poor in quality. The yarn is rough, oddly faded, and so non-elastic that the bottom and elbows of the sweater are stretched and baggy after a half hour of wearing. It arrived looking worn out. I would return but I tried washing it to see if it got softer (it didn't). I bought this on sale and it was still seriously overpriced. Made with a higher quality yarn, the design of this sweater would be great.

Unfortunately I was very busy when this sweater arrived and the weather was inordinately hot. I unpacked this sweater and put it away before trying it on and disposed of the packing slip. Several weeks later, when the weather cooled off, I put it on. The sweater, a large, was WAY TOO BIG. It covered my hands, drooped off my shoulders, and looked ridiculously baggy. I donated to a used clothing unit. I will immediately try on anything else I receive in the mail from now on.

I waited for years to finally spend the money on this sweater. I wish I had listened to the negative reviews. It was huge-too long and the neck opening was so big it showed my bra straps! I ordered a medium (I'm 5'5") and it could have been a dress. LL Bean continues to have such inconsistent sizing and of course then I have to pay to return. After 25 years I'm going to go elsewhere. This is the 6th order in a row that hasn't fit as it should-even of the same top but a different color!

I returned this sweater. It was boxy, shapeless, heavy and stiff, very uncomfortable to wear. I looked frumpy in it. The sweater looked nothing like the picture.

I had high hopes for this sweater based on the stellar reviews. Unfortunately, I found it to be very heavy (but not warm), stiff, and frumpy. When I sat down, the sweater would bunch up around my mid-section (not unexpected), and when I stood back up, it retained the bunched up shape instead of falling loose again, so it looked like I had rolls of fat under the sweater, which I don't. I returned this sweater after just one wearing. (And it seems like the LL Bean return process is quite slow.)

I have been watching this sweater, excited to purchase it when LL Bean had a 25% off promotion. I received the sweater and was very disapointed. I am 5'5" and about 150 lbs. The sweater falls too low, but not low enough for leggings, even with the zippers partially unzipped it still falls at a weird spot on your waist. I love cable knit sweaters and hope that they re-design this one, the material felt really nice but the design was made for a very tall, size 4 :( which unfortunately is not most of the population.

I just received this sweater and am very disappointed. Before ordering it, I called and talked to an LLBean representative, asking the exact garment measurement one inch below the chest on both the XS and S. The rep told me the XS chest measurement was 35 inches and the S 37. For reference, I am 33 chest, 26 waist. So I ordered the S, despite the reviews saying the sweater runs big. The S is NOT 37 inches in the chest, it is 42 inches. It is huge. I hesitate to order an XS, which is undoubtedly not 35 inches. And now I have the inconvenience of returning it. I think it would be helpful to include the actual garment measurement along with the size chart.

I have never ordered from LL Bean but have heard great things. I had my eye on this particular sweater for quite some time so when LL Bean offered 25% off purchase I jumped at the chance to purchase this sweater. I'm a size 8 in dress and I wear medium top. I looked at the size guide and even some reviews thinking that a medium should fit my body top just fine. BOY WAS I WRONG. When I got the sweater and put it on it was HUGE on me. To give you an example of how big. I'm 5'4 and I weigh 145 pounds. The sweater was like a sweater dress on me. I returned the sweater but was very disappointed to see that I have get charged for my return unless I'm a LL Bean credit card holder. That to me is not a good business practice. It's safe to say I will not be purchasing anything from LL Bean again. Very disappointed

This would have been a great sweater except the neck is extremely wide, like an exaggerated boatneck. I can't imagine why they didn't go with a crew neck or any neckline other than this one. You can't even wear a turtleneck underneath because the neck comes so far down. It's almost an off the shoulder look, no joking. Since I can't believe they would have actually designed the neckline this way, I think the manufacturer must have made an error and LL Bean decided to try and sell them anyway. Bad decision. Can't imagine anyone wearing it. It's interesting that it doesn't look too bad on the catalog models, maybe it was altered for the photo. They really missed the mark on this one. Too bad cuz it's nice othwise.

I found this sweater to be really heavy feeling and way too uncomfortable to wear. It i much more heavy duty than I was looking for and isn't soft. It is very well made though, so if you're looking for something a little more bulky- this is for you!

This sweater is beautiful! I just wish I could wear it. I don't understand why you don't make everything in plus sizes too.
