I really wanted to love this sweater. I tried it on and it was itchy, much too small especially in the shoulder and arm area. I ordered a Large and it didn't fit comfortably. It's a thick and heavy sweater which I thought was going to be great, but it kind of felt like I was wearing a rug with knots of fabric. Unfortunately it didn't work for me, and I will be returning.

The cotton is stiff and scratchy. I thought it would be soft and snuggly. I've washed it several times with and without gentle laundry detergent. I've gently tumbled it in the dryer. None of that helped. It's only saving grace is the fit and style. I wear a shirt underneath it for comfort.

I returned this because the tunic style was too long and didn't look flattering on me.

I returned this sweater. It looks great on the model, but the size M made me look frumpy. As stated by several others, the sleeves are close fitting, but the body is wide. And if you're not thin like the model, the bulk of the sweater just exaggerates imperfections rather than disguising them. I did not try sizing down; I wasn't sure it would be worth the effort given the strange proportions. For reference, i'm 5' 10", 165 pounds. I typically wear size 10 or 12 depending on the brand.

The material was very heavy and this did not hang well on my body type.

The sweater is pretty, but it runs large and weighs too much! I had to return it.

I wanted this for years. Looks so cozy in the pictures, but it is incredibly stiff and uncomfortable. There's very little give to it, so it's hard to get off and on - it's a pullover style. Just know what you're getting.

I have wanted this sweater for months so when I saw LL Bean was having a sale I was delighted. I bought the sweater in Auburn and when I put it on the first time I was happy to see it fit my long torso and arms perfectly. I wore it out once to a dinner with friends and pulled it out last night to wear again. The side seam sewing had come undone on the left side and now I have a foot long seam to sew back up. Thankfully it was just the seam and not the actual knitting itself. I am a seamstress so it will not be hard for me to do but I was disappointed with the quality.

Received this today to wear on vacation in a colder climate. It was not as expected. I am 5'8, 157lbs, 53yo. The biggest reason for the rtn is that it was not soft at all, very scratchy and stiff. The arms were too snug while the body was HUGE. I don't like anything tight so I order things a sz up which is a lg. The length was to my upper thigh. It's going back.

I really looked forward to receiving this sweater, but was very disappointed. The arms were tight, and I don't have large upper arms. The sweater was way too long. I am 5'5" and the advertised "low hip" ended up being mid thigh on me. Overall the body of the sweater was pretty oversized. The knit was beautiful except the beige color looked blah...dirty looking. The zippered sides added a nice touch. It just wasn't for me.

I really wanted this sweater! The cream/beige color is very pretty and I like the heavier weight for winter as it gets cold here. However, I will send it back because the neck is very stretched out, just too big. I tried a turtleneck and a t-shirt under it and they both look weird with such a wide neck. Also, when you sit for about an hour, the bottom half gets very stretched out. When I stood up it looked like the sweater was now a bell shape and very unflattering. I'm 5'10", 150lb and normally get a Med. When the sides are zipped, the back half cups under my butt, yet it's not tight or pulling. Just shaped odd, like it was narrowed at the bottom. It's not a good look. Very bummed, I truly wanted this sweater!

I waited months to receive this backordered item. I had read other reviews stating it's too long. But this sweater was exactly what I wanted so I was hoping it just wasn't true. It finally arrived today- I love the raglan sleeves, that it is cotton (black), the color, the cute zippers on the sides, and how the sweater falls. BUT...this sweater is way too long. I know its title is a "Tunic Sweater", but this length doesn't work. It is a serious shame because I have been looking for a black cotton, raglan sleeved fisherman sweater for so long, and by all other measures this sweater was perfect. L. L. Bean--PLEASE make this item in a shorter length that perhaps is long enough to cover some of your bottom- a few inches shorter than what it is now. The material, details, and cut are wonderful....it's just too long. I really hope you make another version of this sweater next season. PLEASE!!!

I bought the sweater in a large, and while the fit was decent, the look was unflattering as it emphasized a tummy I would rather tone down. The cotton knit was far too bulky and uncomfortable.

This isn't a sweater it's literally a dress. It's a dress. I'm so disappointed I thought this would be the best sweater, and it literally fits like a dress. It is so unnecessarily long. I ordered a large I am 5'10 170 postpartum I thought it would be a cute oversized sweater instead it is entirely too big and soooo long. I'm just so disappointed on how long it is. It can't be worn with jeans it'd look like I was wearing a dress with jeans it has to be worn as a dress. Ugh. This isnt a sweater it's a dress.

The Women's Fisherman Tunic sweater was a disappointment, both in sizing and fabric, and I would not recommend it. The cotton was very coarse and not soft. Also, I purchased a small and it was miles too big. I am surprised this item received 4 1/2 stars.

A beautiful color but this sweater feels like macrame. It's absurd to feel like you are wearing ropes around your neck! Returned.

Customers should know that the term "tunic" means extremely long. I liked the sweater but it looked huge because of its length so I returned it.

This sweater is heavy-weight-stiff and very hard to get on and off. After washing color faded and it was washed on delicate cold water. I did not return I donated.

This is a beautiful sweater and zippers are super cute. I am a solid, regular M and Signature runs small. Other reviews noted this item ran large so I ordered M instead of L. It is huge. It will also stretch b/c its heavy. I called & asked to send a small, which fit perfectly. Unfortunately LL Bean will not allow me to transfer $68 in Bean Bucks I used towards an even exchange. If you are not LL Bean cardholder with free mail in returns or a store near you-don't order it. Sizing is tricky.
