I had to return the PJs. I have not seen a refund yet and wondering if or when that will happen. The top was too small around my chest. The bottoms are little large. I found that odd, but the material was very soft and I wish I could of kept it.

Love the weight and quality of the pj's! Bought them a little large so very comfortable. My only critique being that I am short and ordered a petite size, the shirt is rather boxy with straight hem line. Would prefer a man's shirt-tail cut to elongate the torso ... so please LL Bean think about it, please!!

I ordered a med. even though I'm an 8 so I'd have lots of room, which I do. I probably could have taken a small. They are very hot. I am very cold natured so wanted them but I wake up hot in the night. Otherwise they are great.

I have worn these "plaid" (they are actually tartan) flannel pajamas for several years. This year I treated myself to a new pair in the Rob Roy. They fit well at first. After two washes, according to the directions, the cuffs are an inch above my wrist and the pants are above my ankles. Will try to see if I can exchange them for a larger size.

I love these pajamas. I ordered two pair (second pair was in a different size because I couldn't get petite; and also a different kind of plaid (the black watch plaid). PJs are soft, flannel is substantial, pjs keep you warm...and they have pockets!! The ONLY complaint I have about these is that they keep shedding little balls of flannel material. I try to wash them a lot, thinking that an ample number of washings will stop the shedding. No luck so far -- then I've only had these for 1 to 2 months. But I would purchase these again anyway...and I would recommended that you buy them. I gave them 4 stars because of the shedding ... otherwise I would give them 5 stars..

The flannel is soft and the fit is good. They're very comfortable. I bought the red/black plaid, and it ran A LOT! There was no indication that I should wash them separately the first time, so I did them in cold water in a load of dark colors. My only complaint is that the lapels on LL Bean pajamas don't lay flat after washings. My husband bought the men's flannel PJs and I had to stitch the lapels down and tack the material under the buttons/buttonholes. My cotton LL Bean PJs' lapel is sticking up, and I have to iron the button/buttonhole area. On the new pair, I button my PJs when I wash them and that seems to help prevent this.

These flannel PJs are warmer than I expected and softer. That's needed when the outside temps drop into the 30 degree range. There's plenty of room in them so if you turn in bed, they mostly move with you instead of ripping. I gave this a 4 star rating because of all the lint that comes off them in the dryer. I'm hoping they will last many winters and not become thread bear. I'm wondering why the laundry instructions for these flannel PJs say to use warm water, but the same flannel scotch plaid shirts (Dress Gordon) give instructions to wash only in cold water. So I've been washing these PJs in COLD water. Now I also like the sturdy elastic waist band- not tight yet comfortable. Having 2 pairs, I switch between "Black Watch" & "Dress Gordon".

There seemed to be mixed reviews on size and quality. I found the fabric both substantial and good quality. Yes, there was initial increase of fuzz released the first couple of washes, but I expect this from flannel. The size was a bit interesting. The bottoms seemed roomier in proportion to the top, however, not enough to make me want to return them. Think I would go for a medium next time.

I like the fit and fabric. The only drawback is that it is tight on the armpits. Could use more flexibility there,

Ll Bean recommended navy thread. If I knew they were going to monogram the name on the black portion I would not have chose this. So Im returning to have the monogram done in WHITE.

The tartan pajamas were warm and cozy. I was reminded of the flannel pajamas my grandmother used to make. It did lose a lot of lint on first and second washing. I hope that does not continue. I use a dark blue long sleeve cotton shirt beneath it so I can be even warmer and more comfortable. I wish they had some other tartans like Stewart or Scott and then I would buy them too.

These PJs are wonderful! The only thing I didn't like is that the laundry tags are hard and itchy (Why three layers?). I cut them down to the seam and the part caught in the seam was still itchy, and now I've ripped some of the side seam trying to get the tag remnants out. I have a sewing machine, and even loaded with red thread because I was working on Christmas decorations yesterday, so it's not a major problem. But on pajamas this nice, it's puzzling to overlook a comfort issue.

I purchased 3 different colors: Stewart Victoria Tartan, Black Watch and Rob Roy. The Black Watch are a little thicker and heavier weight than the other two. I had to send the Rob Roy back because, for some reason this fabric was extremely itchy. The ones I kept are very warm, super soft and comfortable. The one big downfall is the shedding. Thus, 4 stars instead of 5. I had to launder several times before that stopped. However, I feel that the pros outweigh that one con.
Pros: 1) I really appreciate the buttoned cuffs, rather than the usual wide wrist options of other flannel pajamas. You don't have all that cold draft going up your arms.
2) The elastic waist is stretchy and forgiving, never too tight.
3) Very minimal shrinkage after laundering.
4) Side pockets in the pants are a nice addition.
5) Fabric is super soft and warm.

Fit: I think I could go with XS, but I like the roominess of S. However, there are many people smaller than I am who would probably find XS to be too large.
Fabric: The flannel is heavy and soft, great for cold nights. I'm pleased it is 100% cotton; I can't wear cotton/poly blends.
Labels: Sigh. The labels are scratchy. I clipped them as close to the seams as I could, then sewed the seam allowances down where possible to encase the still-scratchy label edges. Please consider softer labels.

I absolutely love these PJ's they are so comfortable and the size is perfect. My only complaint is for the money I spent I think they should have lasted longer. I only wore for less than 2 Winters when the sleeve by the elbow tore from regular washing.

The flannel is soft. I put one piece in the dryer and hung the other to dry. The dryer piece pilled, so I would recommend hanging to dry. Overall I love these PJs but was disappointed that there wasn't any piping around the collar and front.

The pajamas are well constructed. The flannel fabric is lighter weight than I had expected. Love the details in the design ..... buttons on the cuffs and POCKETS!!!!! Even though they are lighter weight than I wanted, I do like the quality of the construction and the details.

I bought these primarily because they came in Tall. I like Bean styles and quality, but I need Tall sizes for all pants and some other clothing and Bean has very few women's items in Tall. The appearance of a few more in the fall catalog is welcome.
The PJs fit well, but for the price, I would have liked to see more attention to detail--one lapel doesn't lay flat because the buttonhole is too high, and the fabric is a bit on the flimsy side.

I love the fabric and the bottoms fit very well. The top is too small I am larger busted and the top does not fit which is why I marked them down. I would have liked to have this color available in just the bottoms. I did buy the pajamas in another color because I do the like the fabric, the draw back is that the tops do not fit me.

Wear these all the time. They're soft, comfortable and pleasantly roomy. Wish the flannel was a bit more substantial for the price, and they do shrink a bit in the dryer. Just a note: Bought these in MacBeth and thought a monogram would be fun. L.L. Bean recommended navy and it doesn't show up at all. Maybe a nice true red for this tartan would be a better choice.

I have been buying these pj's for years. They change a little each time. Pluses are the pockets and extra width to waistband. A big minus for me are the buttons on the sleeves. Who wants to curl up and wake with a button imprint on their cheek? And I feel like I am wearing my clothes to bed. Go back to an open cuff!

I love these pajamas. This is my second set over many years. The only reason I didn't rate them a five star is that the legs are very wide. My last pair was a medium and I needed the small this time. The small legs are the same width as the medium. Small people do not want 12 inch wide legs, however, I love these flannels and I highly recommend them. If I was 10 lbs heavier they would still fit just fine. I will buy again.

I found the pants cumbersome with the pockets....made it bulky.....None of my PJs have pockets....Although it's nice to have pockets, it made them fit uncomfortable.
Otherwise, like all the LLBean products, made well and would recommend.

My wife had gotten the Wicked Good Moccasins as an early Christmas gift from a family member and made a passing mention that the matching pajamas would make for the ideal Christmas morning outfit. Aiming to be a good partner who listens, I ordered the pajamas. I had read through the reviews and had a little concern that they may be too thin and possibly not hold up well. Upon receiving them, I did think that material was a little thinner than I had hoped, but ultimately my wife enjoys them, finds them comfortable, and they seem to be holding up well after a month and change of rather regular wear.

These PJ's are very comfortable, but they definitely run large, so I would recommend ordering a size down. They also shed quite a bit for some time, even after washing several times. There is little shrinkage.
