Loved the look of this sweater but it shrunk after hand washing in cold water and only hanging flat to dry. The sleeves were already tight but now they are even tighter so it is uncomfortable. Shame as I loved it before I washed it. Have not worn it so I don't know about the pilling others have mentioned.

Very tight though I purchased a size larger than normal. Very stiff, I thought it would be soft and drape well but it's stiff and still smaller than expected

It is very bulky and is very heavy to wear. I returned it. LLBean is always good about returns.

Terrible pilling. I inspected the sweater upon on arrival and it was good. I washed this sweater as soon as I received it before wearing and it immediately started to look terrible. The color and fit are great, but the quality is terrible. Im attaching a photo so I hope you are able to see. I did a close up against my white sheets.

It's only fits comfortably over a tee shirt. To tough to put over anything else beside a tee. Tried Small then a large. It didn't work. I'm a petite size and 4'11. However I replaced it with a Basket Weave cardigan, medium regular and it's wonderful. Beautiful fit. Thank you llbean. I always find something that works. I'm a customer for 55 years. Would like with pockets.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I like the style and fabric but the item was cut small.

While the sweater was nice coming out of the package, I do not think it would have remained looking nice after washing.

I recently purchased the Women's Cotton Ragg Sweater, open cardigan for myself and my sister-in-law in darkest gray. We both already had this style in natural and were very pleased with the fit so purchased the same sizes. My purchase arrived, an XL petite, and it fit fine like my other sweater. My sister-in-law's, a 2X, was much smaller than her previous sweater. In fact I compared the sleeve lengths of the two sweaters (XL petite and 2X) and they were the same - 31.5" - the petite length. Also the sleeve itself was smaller overall. Obviously the 2X was mismarked or not constructed correctly! I reordered a 3X which was a little large but wearable and have returned the 2X. I am usually very pleased with your products and think this one slipped through the cracks.
Note: I would give the XL petite 5 stars.

Hideous frumpy-dumpy sweater with weird cuffs. I am 5'4" and usually take a medium. This sweater made me look like a hippo. Received as gift, returning :( Also does LL Bean make clothing for women who wear more than an A-cup?

Ordered my normal size (in petite). Sweater was huge and far too long. Not in the least attractive on my body. Seems the petite sizes are getting longer and longer.

I had purchased sweaters just like this in different colors and a different size last season. I loved them. Lost some weight so I needed a smaller size. Bought the blue one on sale in May and started wearing this fall in New England. The pocket almost immediately started to unravel. Sent it back to Bean and received the replacement. Within one week, this is happening again. Same color. Other colors have been fine but can't recommend although I love the rest of the sweater.

The sweater was just what I wanted but as soon as I took it out of the bag, hundreds of fuzzy balls were on the table, the floor etc. i never even put it on because I knew the lint would be all over me. I did not want to take a chance on washing it to see if it would improve so i returned it.

Liked the feel of the ragg open cardigan. Smooth, comfy & warm. Good fit except sleeves were a little too short. I ordered the blue & white knit but pieces of blue attached to my clothes, furniture & car. Found pieces on my floors also. Sorry I had to return the sweater. Didn't wash it because of possible shrinkage & didn't want to take the chance. Reordered another open cardigan Beaner in orange cotton with a shawl collar. Love it & am ordering 2 more in black & navy. Can dress them up or down & the fit is perfect.

I like the way this sweater fits, it's nice and warm, and the sleeve length is great for my petite height. However, the issue I have with it is the stitching on the left pocket unraveling. I will have to repair it. I won't return it, but I did expect better quality from LL Bean.

I typically enjoy L.L. Bean products, so to give one a below average rating is unusual. Working in an office that is always chilly, I was looking for a lightweight versatile sweater option that I could layer. The sweater material was very soft, but it shed terribly. When paired with a cotton turtleneck or button down shirt, the sweater left a noticeable layer of green fuzz on everything that was difficult to remove. Sadly, I ended up returning this item.

Received this beautiful sweater yesterday, tried it on and said "this is my new favorite sweater." I washed it today on gentle cycle to get rid of the stale, slightly chemical smell, but when I pulled it out of the dryer one of the pockets was torn. TORN! Not acceptable! Won't get a replacement in time for a planned trip so this goes back. You can do better llbean.

Last year I bought the Women's Marled Cotton Ragg Sweater, and was very happy with it. So this year when I was looking for a cardigan and saw the Cotton Ragg open cardigan sweater, I said "sure, why not?" I bought the oatmeal, and it sheds (which the other sweater didn't do - I guess the yarns are different). It cannot be worn with dark pants, and I have to use a lint brush or roller after wearing it. I suggest that manufacturer use the yarn in the marled sweater.

Love the fit. Very cozy. But LINT that this sweater throws off is unreal. Wondering if washing would help.

This is my second cardigan from this line. Unfortunately, the previous one was much better quality. This one became fuzzy after the first wear and already looks years old. I'm really disappointed with how quickly it wore out.

I hate that I wanted this sweater for TWO Years but won't be keeping it. I ordered my size according to the size chart and it was too tight in the arms and would not go over another top and didn't even cover bust area. So I ordered a size up and it was exactly the same - I could not tell a difference between the two sizes. I HATE that the company is charging me $6.50 per item to return their products. That is $13 WASTED. I have ordered other items that fit fine - another sweater in each of these orders.

Compared to the llbean cotton ragg sweater I am now wearing, bought a few years ago, this new one is not at all like it. It is the exact same size as my older one, but is smaller and shorter. The yarn is stiff, not soft and comfortable like my older one. Something peculiar is going on with llbean women's clothing. The perfect fit pants I recently bought are also smaller and of harsher fabric than the exact same size I am presently wearing that I bought last year.

Since it was "slightly fitted," I ordered a size up. Way too fitted even with a size up!!!!!!!! I was looking for roomy to wear over my pajamas in the morning. This is not slightly fitted its skimpy and lacking quality. I was going to keep it anyway because it was cotton, but after a few minutes my arms and neck started to itch. Its cotton what has bee done to it that it makes me itch? Packing it to send back right now. And bonus, I get to pay to ship it back and lose money because I was dumb enough to think LLBean long line sweaters were still the best. Way too expensive for poor quality and weird skimpy fit. I should have known, My last few purchases from LLBean have been disappointing. No more LLBean long cardigans for me.

This shed the first few times I wore it but I liked the orange color for autumn so I kept it. Then after a few wears and washes, the pocket unraveled.
Trusted the reviews and ordered a size larger than usual, which worked well.
