Great waterproof jacket. Very thin and light weight. Because of these features I was very surprised to find it completely survived a bike accident in which I fell off at 25mph and slid 10 plus ft. Most jackets wouldve torn, but there is only a slight stain and the material held up well. Amazing buy for the price, great quality.

As the name implies this is the "CLASSIC" anorak that LLBean had over 30 years ago. I know because decades ago I bought two. My maroon anorak, sun faded, I wore as the only item while kayaking in the Okefenokee Swamp in SE Georgia. Friends on the trip said "Aren't you hot!?" No, I said, this wicks sweat away quickly and keeps me cool. The material used then was "summit cloth" while this tag says "supplex". Feels similar, comfort of cotton but windproof and rain resistant. I've also worn it as an over garment; layering polar fleece underneath. FANTASTIC garment. FINALLY came back!!

I got this jacket for the rainy weather in New Orleans, LA and I wore it for the rainy day today-- even though it is summer (and hot and humid here!) the jacket felt very comfortable with a short-sleeved shirt underneath. The fabric resisted the rain well, with the rain rolling off the jacket. I really like the feel of the fabric-- even though it is synthetic, it does indeed feel like cotton (as one reviewer noted). The look is good, and I love the green color I selected. The fit is perfect for me in the shoulders and arms-- I have about a 44" chest and 33" waist and 32/33 sleeve. I look forward to using it in the cooler months here with a long-sleeved shirt. The fit leaves enough room for me probably to wear a sweater over a long-sleeved shirt. Removing the jacket feels a little tight for me, but that's ok-- it is a pullover, and I expect that to a degree. Putting on is actually very smooth and easy. I had wished that the cuffs were adjustable with velcro (as some LL Bean jackets are), but I actually like the elastic cuff-- the elastic is fairly wide and loose around my wrists; moreover, I think the deep front zipper will be a help if I need to cool down under the jacket. Finally, the aspects of its light weight and foldability into a pouch means this is already one of my favorite jackets! Great job L.L. Bean!

Looks and feels great. A little tight getting off around the armpits, I would go a size up from t shirt if you have a broad chest. Overall great.

Bought this for my big husband who is 6'5" 240#. He normally wears XL-Tall in LL Bean. I read the reviews and sized up getting him an XXL-Tall. Happy I did. The XL-Tall was too tight and didn't allow for him to be comfortable with a shirt on under the jacket. He LOVES the XXL-Tall (in navy). He is not a fan of the full zip styles and has been raving to everyone about his new pull-over jacket. He says its comfortable, blocks the wind and rain as advertised, and has pockets in the right places.

Fits as an anorak should, slightly loose, able to layer up. Great for rain protection, and stylish in a timeless way. I got compliments regarding its looks the first day I wore it. Plus it kept me dry.

Good copy of original anorak from twenty years ago. Only difference is the drawstring at the waistband was not included.

I purchased the green Men's Mountain Classic Anorak and am thrilled with its fit, quality and appearance. Due to the warmer weather I haven't put it to a full test but I already know it will perform just the way I expected. Of course it's LL Bean, enough said :)

I love this jacket. It's lightweight, stylish (for me at least), and wonderfully packetable--you can fold it up and stow it just about anywhere. I got it because I needed a light jacket I could wear in the spring and summer time, one that I could store in my truck or take with me hiking. Very satisfied with this purchase...might even get the insulated version as well!

Great shell for hiking (or walking the dog). I usually wear a medium, but purchased a Large to layer over my quilted jacket. That said, it's not so big as to be ungainly when just layered over a shirt. It is a quality product. The material is soft to the touch (feels more like cotton than a synthetic), and the deep zipper allows it to open and breathe. More, it really does a great job breaking the wind. Last week on the headlands at Pt. Reyes Nat'l Seashore it was blowing 30 mph. I was comfortable, my friend, not so much. Too, the zip chest pocket is great for stashing a map. This is now a staple in my pack.

Got this at start of winter. Has been my go to so far even in summer. Fits small in my back pack good for any reason to cover your skin. Doesn't tear easy so stays waterproof never too hot or cold. I will be buying more.

I have the original, but this version is superior. It is thicker and more rain resistant.

Purchased this anorak in a medium, my husband's usual size. It fit perfectly and looked supper sharp! He tends to like to wear thicker sweaters or hoodies so we sent it back and got a size large. Easy on and off with a thick layer and still looks good. This anorak is working well to keep him comfortable and dry during extends walks at the dog park in light, cool Spring rain in Michigan.

I love anoraks and have been looking for a lightweight one for several years. This did the trick. I can use it ou and about town (Chapel Hill, NC) and for travel (US and abroad).
It is comfortable, has great pockets for holding Passport, notes, receipts, gloves, etc., looks good and is good for most weather conditions in NC and elsewhere that I go.
I do wish that it came in more neutral colors, like an olive drab or khaki. I am a bird hunter and would like to wear it in the field.
Thanks. Best - Gordon

LOVE this lightweight rainjacket. Easy to throw in a backpack, and I LOVE the kangaroo pouch to put things in whether Airpods, or a pen and a to do list and receipts while shopping. I will be buying another one of these as a gift.

I bought a very similar anorak from LL Bean at least 20 years ago that I loved. Over the years I passed it on because I have grown out of it. I love my new one just as much, if not more.

I've been looking for a good rain jacket and I found it. Most rain jackets feel like hard plastic and wear like it. This has a much more supple feel to it. I got the pull over and it fits perfect for my size, XL Tall. Also, need to give a shout out to the customer service dept. When I originally got my shipment email, I saw that I had ordered an XL Reg. I always order tall from LLBean. I called them right away and they redirected the order back and shipped me the tall immediately. Thank you!

I love this jacket. It is great for warmer winter days, spring/fall, packs nicely and looks great to boot. It is pretty good at repelling water and great with the wind. For the price, this thing is really versatile.

I have an enlarged photo of me taken off Cape Horn in February 1998. I am holding out my GPS and grinning broadly while Old Seadogwearing my L.L. Bean anorak over a sweater and woolen cap. Just the right combination for the time and place. I still have the anorak and wear it when doing outdoor chores in winter. I am giving one to my son for his upcoming birthday.

I had one of these in college 20 sum odd years ago and I loved it! Then it stopped being made for years. It popped back up a couple of years ago and I immediately wanted one but it took up until this season to get the right color in. Absolutely worth the wait! It has become my go to shell this winter with a sweater or fleece underneath for every day wear. It fits great with or without an insulating layer. It is light enough to be my rainwear even in the summer months. I also love the vintage touches, gives it a cool old school vibe. It is well made and I look forward many years of use!

This replaced the Mountain Classic Anorak I purchased in 1998 or 1999. It was my "go to" layer above freezing temps. The new model seems to be made of a somewhat lighter and softer material.
