I like so much about this shoe, lightweight, grippy, makes me feel steady on the trail. But when I added my corrective inserts (even the thinnest), it raised my heel such that it rubbed raw in just a few miles. I used them without the insert and they were fine but I need the support of an insert.

Wanted to love this shoe so much! Lightweight, Cushion, Grip all great! But I had slippage at the heel and the material on back of heel is rough with no cushion at heel. I had bad blisters after only 3 miles. Had to return but hoping this will be corrected in future.

I was looking for a lightweight Ultra with some cushion/structure since the last ultras I bought were way too heavy! The heal slips too much in these even after adjusting how I tied the laces. It seems to be the right size because I would not want it too short. Its like the whole ankle is too sloppy. I also wish there was a tad more toe protection but that is not a deal breaker. I do like the cushion and lightness. I think I'm past 30 day return since I bought them before a trip and got back and it's been a whirlwind getting kids back to school.

I was so exited about these. They look great and the grip is amazing! But the shoes are just so uncomfortable. As soon as I put them on in the parking lot before my hike they were uncomfortable. The tongue is so thin and almost too short. But I thought maybe they just needed to be walked in a bit. Less than a mile in and I stopped to do my first adjustment on the lacing. That was the first of several stops ok my only 10 mile hike. No matter how I laced or adjusted them they hurt my feet. At one point I considered taking them off and going barefoot. As soon as I got home I packaged them for return.

I was so hoping these would be my go to trail shoes.. they are awful on the heel. the new design doesn't keep your heel supported laterally or medially! It's so flimsy and not sure what they did and tends to make your feet pronate.. To box is ok, but feels a bit wider than my other Altras. I wanted to really like these, but actually threw them away. I've been in altras for over 12 years and used to run barefoot. They continually change design and I'm baffled by this if the design makes the shoes worse!! I then tried to just use them to take the dog out for trail walks.. just as bad :( Please make a better trail shoe.

Most time ,I wear these shoes with black socks, but 2023/07 I wear blue socks to trail running (no raining ,no river, sunny day), after 3hr trail running , My socks were stained few.black.

The pro of this shoe was that it did seriously help my shin splints, they disappeared quickly. And that they are light. However, I have had significant heel blister issues, it took taping the shoe, taping my foot, and a heel lock for them to stop blistering. The laces are just barely long enough to tie a secure heel lock. After 70 miles of rough trail the tread is peeling from the sole (on both shoes), holes have begun to develop on the toes, and the outer sole is shredding. I was hoping for a lot more from these, as they have not stood up to the challenge.

I love my Olympus 4's put lots of miles in them and never have had any problems. I wore the mont blanc on a 20 mile trail run and got the worst blisters and rub through on both of my heels.

The trim and tongue felt extremely cheap. Did not like the way they felt around the heel. I have other Altras and these just didn't feel as good of quality. Sending back.

Like all the other reviews, heels kept popping out, despite the lace lock. I have to send them back, but the fit was otherwise amazing and the cushion was perfect. Hope they get the heel issue dialed in because these are currently unwearable.

This shoe could have been perfect. Everything is right about sizing, grip, toe box space...runs similar width to timp. BUT the heel cup will chew through the back of your foot. It's a critical flaw.

Poor heel design with paper thin fabric at the top that provides no support. Feels similar to low back clogs. Heel slipped with every step. Also right shoe was smaller than the left shoe, and I could feel it as well as see it. I have very thin, low volume feet and these felt tight in the mid-foot, which has never happened to me. Toe box was wide enough for me, and I do need a roomy toe box, but the height seemed low, especially in the right shoe that was smaller. I'm hoping the new Timp and Olympus will be better designed than the disappointing Mont Blanc.

I am a big fan of the Olympus so I thought these would be a great new addition. I was excited for more cushioning and a little bit tougher sole than the Olympus. Unfortunately, I could tell they weren't going to work just by looking at the heel, right out of the box. The heel of the shoe is really short and not supportive. My heel slips really bad, doesn't stay put at all. This would definitely cause blisters on the trail. So sad these didn't work.

Disappointingly narrow in the forefoot and midfoot. Needs more width and volume, especially for its intended use (long distance trail running). Good: Vibram sole! Would like to see Vibram on all the trail models especially the Lone Peak, as it is much grippier than Maxtrac.

Performs well on steep terrain, but the insoles have already fallen apart and Altra will not replace them. I've run in Altras for years and have never had this happen before.

I ordered these shoes in the Deep Teal two and a half months ago. I had recently returned neon orange pair of Mont Blancs to a running store I had bought them at because after 2 runs the tops were ripping. The staff told me that Altra had recently changed manufacturers and to try another pair. So, I ordered the teal ones off here. After normal wear the color is peeling off some of the rubber and the soles are peeling off in places. There are holes in the fabric on top. For the price, they should not be falling apart like this. Unfortunately, I am out of the 30 day return window. Severely disappointed.

These did not have a decent toe box, toes were unhappy with the fabric pressing down, and the fabric over the sticks up like it's almost folded. No cushioning that I could feel. Returned . I have been wearing the Paradigm 6-need new shoes and not happy the the 7.

Wanted to LOVE these shoes...I did until I went for a walk in them. Arches hurt within a mile...Had good cushion but the it seems I need a slim fit. Returned them.

Bought these in my usual Altra size. Too short. Too narrow. Just too small. The "bubbles" around the ankle are uncomfortable. They are just uncomfortable in general. Bummed that I tried ):

Saw the bad reviews about the heel, but decided to try it anyway. I had one huge blister on each heel after only half a mile of hiking. They ruined my backpacking trip; we had to turn around and drive the four hours home. No other shoe has ever been this bad!!! Never had this problem in my lone peaks!! The rest of the shoe is great, the heel is a disaster. Will be returning.

Something is wrong with the right heel area. At first I thought it was just me, but a lot of people have said the same thing! I was soo stoked for these shoes that I bought them the day they came out! But after just one 3 mile run they left my heel super blistered and bloody. Tried again with a few other distances / socks etc. - nope. Tore me to shreds each time. Left heel is fine! I have worn many different altras for years now and never had this issue, so not sure what's up, but hopefully they can fix. These were super expensive to just toss in my closet :(

Was excited to try these, however the heel is massive, the fabric barely comes up then turns into a weird rubber thingy. The rubber lining just does not work at all. I also like a bit longer tongue, otherwise laces can pressure tendons on ankle but this one is too short. These shoes are on the more narrow side like the newer Timps, which might be fine for those who like narrow shoes and perhaps would've worked for me because the material doesn't seem constrictive but I can't even walk in them with the heel so crazy loose and rubberized. I'm afraid this shoe needs to be recalled and taken off shelves. Can't see anyone not returning it. Yikes!
