love these. great on the trail and super cute. Agree with reviewers that it would be nice to see vibram soles, especially for the trails. Got these in the black and purple colorway which looks better in person and feels really on trend. v cute with an all black outfit. Love them! Finally found my shoe, thanks Altra.

Love my Timps! Not only do I run dirt trails in them, I also hike in them. There's tons of underfoot protection from rocks but they still feel nimble enough to take on technical terrain.

Love the TIMP. THIS IS my 4th or 5th pair. The toe box roominess is great, plenty of supportand accommodates my custom orthotics. New heel and tongue fabric, ab improvement. Hoping it keeps me from wearing a hole at the inside Achilles area, my only issue in the past. This olive color is great too.

This is honestly my favorite shoe. I have more miles on this shoe than any other and I'm about to order another pair just for back up. They fit like a glove and give me the traction that I need!

This is my first pair of Timps after being a loyal Lone Peak fan. While I still love my Lone Peaks, the Timp is a great shoe! Great cushion while still being able to feel the trail! These will be my go to long run shoe this year!

I'm so incredibly happy with this updated version of the Timp. So comfy and light. I loved the added heel pads that ad an extra layer of that locked in feel. Altra has knocked it out of the park with this update.

Altra did provide these to me at a discount as I am member of their ambassador team. I've worn the Timps on rocky, rooty, and buttery smooth trails. The balance of comfort and grip make these the perfect everyday trail shoe. I had no issues with the tongue moving, no hot spots on uphill or downhills and am so happy with them! I also wore them for 5+ standing at events, so I cannot recommend it high enough.

Lots of exciting updates with the new version of this shoe. It's soft & highly cushioned without feeling bulky, has great traction, and is super breathable. Although it's a bit more expensive than some of the other shoes, its durability makes it well worth the investment!

Timps have always been my go-to trail shoe, and the Timp 4 made some fantastic improvements that I didn't even know were needed! They give me support for all types of terrain and can handle long distances without any hot spots. I've used them already in 2 ultras (one in the desert and another on very technical mountain terrain) and they performed perfectly. No complaints- these are my most highly recommended shoe.

The first time I used the newest Timp was to volunteer to clean up the trails. I was immediately impressed by how they felt just walking around. I don't typically wear my trail shoes for every day wear but these felt SO GOOD! Disclaimer - I have been wearing Timps for some time now and my longest distance in them has been 100 miles. These are BY FAR the best version of the Timp I have worn The cushion is just right. It hugs my foot nicely and the traction is great. After volunteering I did wear them a few weeks later for a 56K that was slightly technical. They performed VERY WELL as I expected!

I've worn every version of the Timp & this is by far by favorite! The Timp now actually feels like a trail shoe, whereas in the past it felt like a road shoe with some lugs. The ankle does come up higher & is padded, which feels like more support & less chance of ankle rolls on technical trails. The bottom seems to grip better on slick rock as well. The larger loop on the back is now functional! I'm not sure who could ever use the smaller finger loop on the older models to help get the shoe on, but with the new style I use it every time! I already have 278 miles on my first pair with multiple runs of 30+ miles & I've ordered a 2nd pair as well.

The timps are a perfect option for mid-range cushion. Width feels true to size, but less roomy than the lone peak. I love the soles of the timps and the new upper, highly recommend!

I've been going back and forth between the Timp and the Olympus. I love the fit of the Timp and the cushion of the Olympus and this shoe combines both. The Timp fits my foot better and now I don't have to sacrifice the cushioning that I need due to plantar fasciitis! Great job, Altra!!

Great shoes with added traction I use for running and hiking! They do run big, I usually wear a 9 but am a 8.5 in these. Had to return the first pair for a smaller size.

I previously had the Lone Peak and I just bought the Timp 4. It was a perfect fit for my foot from the get-go. I wore them out of the box all day and they were perfect. I keep hearing issues about material failure, etc. I have never experienced that with any Altra shoe I've owned. I used my Lone Peaks everyday for over a year, 1-3 miles a day hiking/walking. The soles wore down as expected, but the upper still looks great. I feel like there was a bad manufacturing facility that caused this, but it is not indicative to Altra in general. I used to wear Hokas and there was definite degradation with their shoes within 3 months. Not great. Honestly, I have been happier with my Altras than any other shoe. I don't feel like they fall apart as others are saying.

I have bought all of the Timps. I think I have liked the 3's the best. The 4's Toung slips down. I would like to see that improved in when you make the 5's. I like that the shoestrings are not long, but just enough so they are not flopping around. I really appreciated the 50% off coupon for them when I took a survey. I give it a 4 rating because of the Toung slipping.

Love these, but they just don't last for me. I'm on my 3rd pair and all three have only lasted 3 months, meaning the tread is almost completely worn down. I may need to find a new shoe and I'm sad.
