Love these shoes. I wear them to do dog agility on grass and dirt. They are comfortable, provide good traction and support, and are easy to clean. The soft parts wore out long before the cushioning and treads showed any wear.

I use these shoes for hiking trails in the mountains of the southeast. I've done the Catalina Island thru hike as well and these would've worked well for it, too. I was a die-hard fan of the Lone Peak 6 but after trying these I have a new fave. They do have a wide toe box even though it is advertised as standard. They are more cushioned and feel slightly more stable than the Lone Peak 6. I bought my usual size in running/hiking shoes and they are perfect. I bought the deep teal color and now want the tan colored pair to alternate on the trails.

This is a fantastic shoe! The most comfortable no matter where I'm walking and for how long. The toe box is ample enough with no uncomfortable rub spots.

I am now an Altra convert! I have been wearing Hoka's for the last 10 years and a friend suggested I try on Altra's for a change. They are a dream; Supportive, great cushion, extremely comfy with no break-in necessary, and plenty of room in the toe box without being sloppy. They also have way better color combinations than the other brand which has always made me have to settle for something I don't really love the look of. Now, I love my Altras in every way.

I need a walking shoe that is not tilted forward and has a larger toe box. This one is perfect and fits true to size for me. Love the mauve pink color way and wish for more of that tone in tone please!

My feet have changed since my last pair of hiking shoes were comfortable. Now those old shoes pinch my little toe and hurt my bunion. I'm so glad I found these shoes! My first reaction after a few steps in the living was - I didn't know shoes could be this comfortable! Since those first steps, I have been hiking up and down small mountains. No pain, not on flat surfaces, up steep paths or down rocky trails. I ordered two more pairs in other colors, thinking I'm set to have comfortable feet for life!

I landed on these shoes after purchasing and returning Altra hiking shoes that were 'original' footshape when I had been wearing 'standard' footshape walking shoes. It makes a big difference. I think Altra should be clearer on the difference between these footshapes. Timp 4 shoes are great for me: a gentle hug on the sides of my feet, more arch support, sturdy treaded soles, a bit more 'waterproof' than a walking shoe. Plenty of room to wiggle my toes. 'Original' footshape is very wide and a bit shorter in length.

The tongue of this shoe is a thin cushion, which is perfect for my preference. The shape of the shoe and especially the toe box is fantastic. nice stability while being breathable

I had never worn the Timps before because I thought they probably worked better for trail running. use these for road running and they feel great. They may be my favorite Altra's so far.

I've had my Timp 4's for ~6 months now. I have multiple brands, models, and styles of shoes to run in and I continue to grab my Timp 4's. Super comfortable, and pretty light. Great for trail and gravel running. I've even run the road with them recently. Will be buying more for future races when I wear these down.

Use these for trail running, and recently hiking the Fisherman's Trail in Portugal. They are super comfortable but don't feel sloppy! Exceed my previous Salomon's and Hokas.

My feet hurt and these shoes are squishmazing... I have a ton of issues with my feet and these shoes are the BEST I have found for my issues. I wear them all day and my feet hurt the least after wearing these at the end of the day.

Only walking shoes that fit my feet. Wish I had found these much sooner. Allows for very comfortable walking even though I have some arthritis in my toes plus a bunion. Good cushioning. Will be adding another pair soon.

I have put these shoes through the wringer. First with an early season Xterra triathlon, and then a 25k Buffalo run on antelope island in Utah with blizzard conditions. I've since soaked them completely through in some slot canyons they still look and feel great. Almost ready to buy a new pair.

I absolutely LOVE this shoe! I finally have a shoe brand that fits my foot and toesstair step with a long big toe. I have arthritis and sesamoiditis after years dancing on point and dancing where all the weight is carried on the ball of the foot. The altra shoes, I have 2 pair: torrin and timpboth are so comfortable and my feet are healing. The stiffer thick sole with a very soft interior that holds my foot securely are just what my doctor recommended. Love your brandand the shape of the Altraswill be buying many more! (The tongue of the timp 4 pair has an awful hard plastic ridge that cut into my foot but I liked the shoe so much, I cut it back and sewed a soft fabric on the edgeprestono longer a problem). Please on the next version fix the hard plastic to a soft tongue like the torin. I will be buying more! Oh, and please expand your offering to sandals and other types of shoes.

I've been through a lot of shoes especially nike and i had to try the temp 4's because i have the lone peak 7's as well but i wanted cushion, these were the ones. I have a very wide flat foot and these shoes have been the best shoe for my feet, I have put about 300 miles on them right now and they are holding up very well, i do about everything in these shoes, if i had the money i would buy as many as i could!!

I love the new shoes, improved cushioning makes it better for 73 year old class 4 arthritic knees, improved tread helps stability and climb, and the increased heal loop helps with inserting foot.

Thing I love about this shoe: Well cushioned Fits narrow heel Can feel the Earth beneath my feet (which makes trails easier to navigate) Great grip Durable (have taken them on over 100 miles of trails in two months and plan to take them on my R2R cross) Easy to get on/off Breathable Light Flexible (not rigid) Things I would improve: A little more arch support for my high arches would help to keep plantar fasciitis from becoming inflamed

I already own the Lone Peak 6--I primarily bought that model for lifting weights/stability, and it's a wonderful shoe with minimal cushion. It runs a bit short, so when I decided to start running again, I did size up 1/2 size in the Timp 4 with good results. I bought the Timp 4 shoe mostly because I was disappointed with a competing running shoe brand (you know the one I mean--it was too pillowy and made me heel strike). This shoe is wonderful for running and helps me strike at the mid foot. It has more cushion than the Lone Peak 6, but it's still responsive and I have a good sense of stability mid flight. The extra cushion doesn't deaden road feel, so that's a plus for me. I should note that I lace these so I have good heel cup support (using the rabbit ear method) and laces are long enough for this. All in all--the perfect running shoe! I look forward to many miles ahead in my Altras. I'm gonna need some new exciting colors, Altra--so tell the design team to work on that next, lol.

I don't want to take them off! They fit great, my toes have room and it isn't because they are too wide - just the right amount of room.
