I recently purchased this tent after strong recommendations from a friend who had a Stormbreak 3 that he has used for several years. I just returned from a 5-day canoe trip in Quetico. During a strong thunderstorm the tent worked well, both in the rain & strong winds. However, I and another friend, who had just received & used the same model tent during this trip, were both extremely disappointed with the zipper system. The zipper cover flap is too short for the situation, in both dry & wet conditions. The zipper constantly caught in the flap. Whether outside the tent or inside it caught, and, unfortunately, it is difficult to constantly have to reach outside to undo the caught zipper when inside the tent. For this major reason I cannot recommend this tent. This is the fourth two-person tent I have owned, from various producers, & I would say I am the most disappointed in a tent from such a respected producer of outdoor gear. Another disappointment: no pole bag!
Here's an additional critique by a fellow camper on this trip who had just purchased a new Stormbreak 2:
The narrow door flap design is not satisfactory. It is difficult to keep open. A door zipper system similar to the Stormbreak 3 (that is an older model) is far superior. The half circle opening in that model allows for better exit and entrance. Also the zipper flap on the older model is wider and works much better than the new Stormbreak 2 model.

On my second use of this tent, a wind storm came in a bent up the poles pretty good. I figured NTF would stand by their products and would replace this no problem. WRONG. I sent the poles back (on my dime) to receive a letter in the mail weeks later refusing to repair or replace the broken poles. Unacceptable. I used this tent TWICE, it was securely staked in, assembled properly, and used as intended. I did nothing wrong and the product did not stand up to the storm as advised, the wind wasn't even that bad for the record it was maybe 35 mph gusts. The storm broke this tent, at very least change this deceiving name. Disappointed in the product but FAR more disappointed in how the company has refused to replace a part of product. Very frustrated and disappointed. BUYER BEWARE, would not recommend. 0/10
