My friend recommended this tent due to durability and North face excellent customer service. We do a lot of raft camping on the desert beaches and the sand is really hard on the zippers. My friend claims she does the same and this tent lasted her 10+ years. We set it up after purchase- tent looks great - well built and functional. We like to use wider pads (paco pads) under sleeping bags, so I would say for us it is more like 4 people tent (rather than 6), but that works for us.

Great base to operate your adventure from. First time to use it and loved it.

This tent is awesome. Set-up was fairly intuitive, even with the unique vestibule and lack of instructions (which, admittedly, was a bit annoying). Tons of space both inside and out. Materials appear to be of high quality. Definitely pick up some extra stakes.

North Face comes with a reputation of great quality. This tent is no exception! It was rock solid in 60mph winds at 12,000ft in the Rockies. It poured down rain for two straight days and we stayed bone dry. The vestibule was a God send for cooking and food prep during the rain since our 4ft folding table seemed to be made for it. Tent is very versitle fitting two full sized cots and gear storage with lots of room to spare. Pockets and hanging loops work wonders for lamps and gear storage. Some reviewers said the zippers get caught in the fabric but with a technique of putting your finger inbetween while zipping, no problems even when soaking wet. We look forward to many more adventures in the mountains with this tent.

Absolutely love this tent! Family of Five with three kids under 10, we all had room and able to sleep comfortably. Easy to set up and take down. Love the bag it comes in, haven't used in rain yet.

We have an older model and we use it very often during summer months. It is a great tent for big families. We can comfortably put inside a double size inflatable mattress and 2 floor mattresses.
The zippers are fantastic, poles are well made and there are lots of openings and storage space, overall a very versatile tent. You get the vestibule and that is excellent to keep your things dry on wet days. The vestibule is actually big so you can fit lots of gear under.

Used this tent this weekend in Wisconsin for a mountain biking trip. I was the only one to stay dry out of the other campers. Held up great in 8"+ of rain and strong winds. Huge supporter of northface

Overall this is very sturdy and roomy. Very nice ceiling height with plenty of room to walk around. The covered vestibule is great.
I only wish that the door between the tent and vestibule could be closed completely for warmth and wind protection. There is only a screen door and the vestibule walls do not fully reach the ground. I am concerned this could be a problem on particularly cool/windy nights.

Great family tent, spacious for a family of 4. Overall easy to set up, except the rain fly is a bit awkward to attach (once it is up, works well, and should be easier the second time around). Also small detraction for not having a footprint available, although we just used a simple tarp based on the tent dimensions and this worked fine.

We wanted a good tent for our vacation. After researching and watching videos, we bought the wakona.
The set up is easy, as well as the take down. The vestibule is nice to be able to store things outside the tent, such as chairs, shoes and things that need to be covered , but not necessarily in the tent. The ability to let air flow through out is great too.
I only have one complaint and that is that one of the tent posts were bent .We are still able to use it , but it's more annoying to me that it bent some how and that we paid over $450 for it.

Great tent for casual weekend camping. Not sure how it would hold up in severe weather.

It holds up really well in lots of conditions. It's easy to put up (i did it by myself twice, in under 20 minutes both times, and faster with another adult... and slower with a kid). Spacious, the vestibule is absolutely killer. Well ventilated in the summer, easy to clean. Packing it away wasn't very difficult either.
My only gripe with the tent itself is that the back door is a little wonky to use, and part of me wishes that we could have the rainfly off a portion of the top of the tent (some of us like looking at the sky).
Literally the only dealbreaker is that there is no footprint available anymore. What's the point of selling a bajillion of the best reviewed family tent on sale and not having any footprints available. I mean, at least provide _some_ sort of alternative here.

Pros: I'm two seasonsin = about 9-11 week long trips with myself and 90lb dog, and this amazing tent has lasted through some strong winds, without using the stabilizer ropes (got caught off guard by weather), a four day constant heavy downpour with only a slight bit of moisture under the vented corner because the rain at one point came in sideways, other than that I was incredibly impressed at how bone dry the tent was after that long weekend.
Con: Great for wear and tear with a large graceless dog. Except when she went kool-aid man style through the main door screen at 2am. To be fair it held up for about 5-6 previous attempts of escape (to go after local wildlife).
I would definitely welcome a solid zip up option for the main door like on the back door, as a woman that frequently camps alone I've resorted to clipping up a blanket or sheet.
Overall, I will keep buying the wawona line.

Did good in wind gusts of 50 mph. Taught and sturdy. Tent set up is fast (2 people recommended). Best to do a trial set up before you go camping. The second time around is much faster. The vestibule is nice. Slept 5 with 2 dbl airbeds and single.
Half the bagged size of my old colman 6.

Had this about a year and use in Hawaii with heavy rains and it stays quite dry inside. Setup with only person is difficult, the stuff bag that is included is beyond terrible, with stuff falling out.

We used it for camping on an island - heavy rain storm hit us early morning , everyone else's tents had caved or flooded while we just lay and watched the rain fall off the dome. Bloody sturdy and rainproof for sure.

Purchased tent for a dual sport event in North Ga Mtn's. Lots of room for my gear and a table... even parked my bike in the vestibule. However, the temp dropped down in the 30's and became windy with a brief shower... Nothing got wet but this tent will not stop wind entering through the vestibule. Other than that - put up and take down was fairly easy for me alone. Good quality seems and zippers! Great 2 season/summer tent ;)

Wish the door to the tent had solid cloth in addition to screening. Would make it 3 1/2 seasons instead of having the cool air blow even with the atrium closed

Great tent but should really come with a footprint at this price point, hence only four stars.

Love this tent! The only thing I wish is that the vestibule had a netting screen behind each door because bugs get stuck in it. Also wish the bottom front of the tent vestibule touched ground. Tons of bugs and small animals can walk/fly in.

We have used the tent three times now. So far so good. The tent is cozy, has a great storage vestibule and is nice for our family. My only concern is the lack of rain fly on the back. I'm not sure how it will last with a true heavy rain.

Overall a great tent, lots of room and the vestibule is fantastic. The only thing that could be improved is the fact the vestibule does not reach the ground, we had a wind storm that got under the vestibule and pealed the fly back off the tent. Lesson learned was to set tent with vestibule facing away from oncoming wind. we did turn tent around and had no problem after that, however if the wind could not get under vestibule I feel we wouldn't of had the problem the first night.
