I've been looking for a lightweight, packable, SEEM TAPED rain jacket that actually stands true to being waterproof and I've found it. Been a north face gear junkie my whole life.

I'm looking for a replacement of an old North Face rain jacket that was very well designed and lasted several years. I hike, backpack, ride bike and wear whenever I'm out. The hood is oversized with only an adjustment around the opening. Without the adjustment for size the hood will catch wind and blow loose. Pull the adjustment strings and the hood closes over the eyes. Not safe to wear. Also, the zipper is exposed with the rain flap inside the coat.

It's a great light jacket to carry as a back-up layer. Versatility is fantastic. This is not a waterproof jacket. I was wet after 45 minutes of moderate rain in this jacket. Water-resistant.

Previous to this jacket, I had a Hyvent that lasted around 7 years and needed to be replaced because the waterproof insulation started to break apart, so the standard is set really high. I bought this as a replacement, and the fit is a bit snug, since I live in a country with a really hot weather, this is not an issue, but if you need to use layers you have to take that in consideration while selecting de right size. I must say I'm not a fan of the rain cap hanging all the time as a hoodie, but that aside, I think this jacket is really worth the price. Keeps you completly dry and I really like thte pit-zip venting, this makes a whole difference while hiking.

Solid rain jacket. Love the fit. Would buy again.

Won't keep you dry in rain over 5-10 minutes. Hood doesn't fit great (needs rear synch, too big), zippers (although well built) are a pain to use. Synch cords seem sloppy at the front when tightened.

Tested the jacket on a short walk in light rain. Hood is ill fitting like other reviews stated. My shoulders & upper back were wet. Experienced water intrusion on the front zipper too.

High quality. This jacket has a much better liner than my previous. I purchased the recommended size, which worked out great.
