bad material, two months of use is no longer good, money wasted

I purchased this lunchbox for my grandson in the planet pattern. It was a gift for the new school year. My daughter picked it up at the Freehold, NJ store since the item was sold out online. The first day it was used, the top handle came off at the top seam. A very expensive disappointment. She lost the receipt, so a refund is not possible.

We bought two of these lunch boxes and a little over a month later the handle failed on one of them. Poor construction and material. I expect better from LL Bean merch. Plus, I have to pay shipping to return it.

Please don't buy this lunchbox. I didn't notice any of the poor reviews when I purchased this lunchbox. My son got ONE USE from this lunchbox and the handle broke (like so many other purchaser's review states). This was a complete waste of money.

The handle didn't even make it a week into school without ripping out of the top on one side.

I am not sure what happened to the quality control of LLBean, but a lunch box we just purchased for the start of the school term broke on the 2nd day. We've always purchased their lunch boxes from LLBean since they were in Pre-K, as they last forever, but this one obviously wasnt of the same quality. The handle completely fell of on one side and the other side frayed My daughter is in 6th grade, so it is not like she is a little one pulling and tugging on it. LLBean said they will replace the product, so I am happy they will do that - hopefully it is a one off thing. She is now using her old lunch box from three years ago :) Will be updating once I receive the new item and it last a little longer.

I ordered 6 of these as gifts for my bosses. I was very disappointed when they arrived as they were so small that you can't even fit a standard sized ice pack in it. We don't have a large refrigerator at work so all staff are encouraged to bring lunches in insulated lunch boxes with ice packs so I thought these would be a great idea for the owners. Unfortunately, due to their small size, they really won't be used and we spent a lot of money on these for not being able to be used. What a shame.

I bought this for my 6 year old son. The liner developed rips, and small punctures. The lunch box has been in use less then a single school year, and was purchased less then a year ago. He now uses an older lunch box, from a few years ago. There is an obvious decline in the craftsmanship, and overall quality. When I attempted to return it, (with proof of purchase) I was told it could not be returned as this was "normal wear and tear". Disappointed with the product, and the return policy.

Not up to expectations so it was returned. Very small and flimsy....... not at all like the quality of a lunch bag I purchased years ago.

I was really disappointed in this lunch box. After only a few weeks of using it my 4 year old spilled his milk and it got behind the walls of the cooler somehow. Now the whole thing smells like spoiled milk and I can't get rid of the smell. Being made for small kids it should be made better to tolerate when they don't close containers properly and have spills and leaks. I would NOT recommend this to anyone with small children.

Purchased this lunchbox for my 12 year old in August, 2017. Prior to the end of the school year, she noticed tears inside resulting in leaking into her book bag. When buying from LLBean in the past, my children could use their book bags and lunchboxes for a few school years but this is not the case with this one.
