This is much smaller than it looks. It also seemed poorly made. The next size up for $44.95 had a sturdier handle and is considerably larger.

The handle broke after a month. Not the shoulder strap but the handle on the box itself

I would not recommend this lunch bag. We have now returned two bags for the same poor quality of the handle. The handles on both bags tore from the seam with just one use. Although customer service has been very helpful in the return process, this is not what I expect from the LLBean brand.

Ordered two lunch boxes. Within the first few uses the handle broke off the first. Same thing occurred with the second lunch box a few weeks. The replacement process for the first lunch box was a easy. The second is taking weeks to process.

Poor quality handle on the Flip Top Lunch Box. Purchased Aug 2022. Handle ripped off Sept 2022 & returned for a replacement. Handle came off again Oct 2022. Returning again as soon as I get the return label from LL Bean. The handle is attached very poorly. We had these lunch boxes before & lasted forever. Saw other reviews with same problem. Would never purchase this item again. Get someone in quality control to resolve this problem. Waste of time with returns. Thank you.

The top handle of the lunch box frayed and tore away. When I went through the process to exchange I was asked to return the lunchbox to be evaluated before a replacement would be sent. Likely weeks in turnaround time. This was a poor response to what appears to be a defect in the product.

My grandson is on his second lunch bag this school year and again the handle has torn from the top. To me it appears the wrong fabric is being used for the handles, it frays too easily...handle and strap are different materials. I hope my daughter doesn't go through the effort of replacing again. I noticed most of the postitive reviews of this item were prior to 2020. Did you change manufacturer/supplier?

We bought three of these lunch boxes for the beginning of the school year, and the top handle fell off of all three within the first month of school. Actually, one of them lasted two weeks, the other two less than that. I really can't believe how badly made this lunchbox is now. We've been buying them for decades, and most of them have lasted several years before I've replaced them (because they got smelly from leftover kid lunches, not because anything ever broke). I would give this zero stars if that was an option.

The nylon material on the handles is shredding very quickly. I bought two of these lunchboxes recently, one has about one month of use and the other about four months of use, both handles are in rough condition. A version of this I bought several years ago had no such issues.

Handle fell off the first week of school! Not sure what's going on lately with LL Bean stitching. Same thing happened to our backpack last year and I had to return it.

The handle on the lunch box broke the second day my son used it at school. Very disappointing considering how much we paid and the quality that LL Bean is suppose to be known for

I really thought this bag was going to be bigger, unfortunately it isn't. Better suited for elementary school.

My daughter had this lunch box for about 6 months and the handle broke. I returned and purchased another one and after a month the handle broke in the same spot on the new one! At first I thought it was something she did but then I read all of the reviews from people that had the same issue. We have other LL Bean lunch boxes that are the same style that we've had for years with no issues- it looks like the quality is going down unfortunately. I'll be returning the second broken lunchbox and will be purchasing a new one from a different retailer.

Poorly quality. Unfortunately the handle has broken twice now in less than 3 months. Not planning to buy and exchange again.

After only a few weeks, the handle ripped off. LLBean offered to send me a new one if I returned the defective one back, but since the design is flawed, the new one will break too, so I don't see the point. I think they should refund my money and let me keep the lunch box or give me some kind of discount for a future purchase. Come on, LLBean, you are known for higher quality!

Just 3 months into the school year, and the handle is broken off on one side! Definitely not made to withstand young users. Not worth the cost.

I ordered one of these 4 years ago when my son started kindergarten. He's used it daily for 4 years with no issues. Ordered a new one for his little brother, and the handle ripped off after one week. Customer service sent us a new one, and that one had the handle ripped off in 3 weeks. After only a few months, the inside is cracking apart and the quality is nothing like the one we ordered years ago. Just doesn't seem like it's up to LL Bean quality!

The handle began fraying after a month, then completely broke. It seems that the stitching which held the strap failed and the strap was released. This product is NOT up to the LL Bean quality we expect. We have two others, which have lasted for years. The one ordered in 2021 has only lasted 3 months. Unacceptable!

I have to agree with the other reviewers. The handle ripped off on both of my boys lunchboxes. The first one I had for a week, the second 3 weeks. I would like to blame my kids, but the ripped in the exact same spot in both. LL Bean has been great with the exchanges but I'm hoping it doesn't keep happening!

Handle unraveled on both sides after a month. I was shocked, llbean has always been my go-to for lunchboxes and book bags. All my other stuff has lasted for years and years. Disappointed in the quality. I can send it back for replacement, but it's such a hassle.

Initially this appeared to be a good lunch box, however, on the second day my daughter carried it to school the handle began unraveling.
