This jacket is super cozy and my son has already gotten compliments on it from several other moms. The removable hood is nice, and the jacket looks good still when the hood is removed. The only reason I rated 4 instead of 5 stars is that the cozy fuzzy lining gets stuck in the zipper - would have been nice if the fuzzy lining didn't go right up to the zipper since kids already struggle with zippers and don't need fuzzy stuff getting caught in it.

I bought this for my grandson for Christmas. He is 3 1/2 yrs old. I gave it to him early because it got so cold. He loves the lining inside the jacket which is very soft. Also the cuffs of the arms very soft and prevent the wind from going up his sleeves.

Purchased this size 10-12 coat last year for my now eight year old son. He loved the coat. Wanted to wear it all the time in the winter. He has now outgrown the coat. Upsizing to a 14 to 16 size for him when he is now only 8. LLBean, please look at the sizing in the future. Seems way off.

I was really excited that my son shopped for and picked this jacked out for himself. This was the first time hes ever had any interest in a winter jacket. I was really hopeful that this would translate to an easier time convincing him that "Yes, 15 degrees F out means winter coat" however the built in liner for the sleeves really tripped him up. After about a month of struggle with him over how it was OK if the liners were a little out of the coat I gave up and found him a coat without sleeve liners from a different company. It is super warm and comfortable with the fleece liner. He wore it daily for about a month and it didn't lose a single feather for us. Fit great and looked really good on him. Will save it as a hand-me-down and will work great then.

The coat is warm as is of good quality as you expect from LL Bean. Color is vibrant. The fit however is a bit odd. It's very wide which I guess is OK except for the wind getting right under it. It's also not long enough and the arm length is also on the short side. Considered returning for a bigger size but thought the width would make it fit too much like a barrel. My son will wear it for about a month as he is growing so much. Designing kids coats with the ability to extended arm length would be great.

I bought these for my twin 9 year old grandsons. They love the colors, the fit and the warmth. They do complain about one thing.......static electricity. Overall, I am well pleased.

We got the green one for our 12-year-old son, who loves colors. We regularly have to shop across the gender LLB gender silos to get him a variety of colors, and bright colors, so it's a bonus that this jacket is "unisex". The retro styling is really, really adorable. Our son is just sizing out of kids' clothes, but usually fits into 16-18. We got the 18, and the proportions are off. The chest size is okay, but the length of the jacket is really short, the arms are on the short side. There's no room to grow, so we'll have to return it. It seems really warm, otherwise well-designed and high quality, and is so cute, I wish we could keep it! Sadly, there's not much nice color or variety for him in the LLB adult jackets, so we may have to go elsewhere this season.

This is our first time ordering this particular jacket. My son is a average 7 year old on the shorter side and we tried this on in summer to see how it would fit for prospective winter. Sleeves seemed good length, end of jacket was ok not super long however --he did only have a t-shirt on and it seemed "tight" and bunched up his t shirt at his sleeves and chest. I believe it's because of the thick inner fleece so for that reason I'm going to send back and try the kids small size 8 because we generally wear thicker shirts in Wisconsin with this kind of coat.

My kid loves it! But it's too expensive! I can find similar quality at a lesser price elsewhere.

We overall love this coat - beautiful colors, nice fit, and snuggly liner. However, the outer layer already has a tear on the sleeve with less than a month of wear. This is very disappointing, as were hoping to invest in a quality item that would last for several years and also be a hand-me-down item to our younger child

Overall, the jacket is warm, functional, and cute. Sadly, the down feathers come out very easily and get all over the kids' clothes. For the cost, was hoping for something that lasts a couple of winters.

This coat is cute and seems to keep my granddaughter warm. It is very thick and bulky though. Not what I was expecting for a down jacket.

It's a cute jacket with a soft interior but I wish the arm cuffs were elasticized to keep snow out.

Nice looking coat, but not car seat safe. Spend the extra $50 on the packed down version, which unfortunately only comes in solid colors, but doesn't hold air or extra padding under car seat straps.

Love the style and warmth. Bought it for my 4 year old. 3 stars because it broke within 2 weeks and had to return. The zipper teeth ripped right off. Tried to get a new one and it is on back order to long to wait.

We loved these jackets, i bought three. My children are pretty laid back. They aren't hard on clothing but these ripped pretty soon after purchase. I saw that on the reviews beforehand and bought anyway thinking maybe this was just children rough housing. I thought since my children are rough we'd be fine. NOPE . Not worth the money.

This coat is super cute and seriously cozy. Sadly after just 3 wears parts of the fleece lining are completely shredded with holes forming in the lining. My daughter is not at all rough and tumble with her clothing, but it is looking like this coat might not make it through one winter. Very disappointing.

We've had this coat for less than a year. It's very warm and my child really loves it! The inside is very soft. However, it sheds feathers like no other down jacket we've owned. My child's clothing is always covered in stray feather bits. Also, the exterior fabric is not as heavy duty as we've experienced with other L.L. Bean kids' coats and I've already patched a couple of tears. The zipper also catches. I was hoping to pass this down to younger siblings, but I don't know if it will even survive one winter season of almost-daily use.

I bought this jacket with the hopes of handing it down the line like our other LLBean coats, but this one won't make the cut. The fabric holds stains and it's not easy to wash. We also are seeing small tears here and there. The jacket was initially beautiful, but now looks terrible. My daughter is an active 1st grader and half way through this winter I had to purchase a new coat. This one is falling apart and just looks dirty. I've tried everything.

This would be a great coat for a short husky kid. But my kid is tall and skinny and it didn't work. I was looking for a larger coat for him because his current coat is getting too short. This coat was larger around than his current coat, but just as short. I could order a larger size for more length, but it was already much bigger around than he needed! I returned it.

My husband's mother bought this coat last season for our boy and he absolutely loved it! He was so excited to put it on for the first time this season. We pulled it from the coat closet where it has been since March and after a few hours a small hole in the middle of the chest began to form. We purposely bought the coat a size too big so that we could get 2 winters out of it. It finally fits well and unless I tape the hole I'm not sure how it will be usable. If there was a way to repair it I absolutely would. He loves this coat. I was going to buy his little sister the same coat in a different color but now I'm not sure.

I bought this recently during the sale so we would be ready for next winter. Turns out, my son likes the jacket so much he started wearing it now even though it's the end of the season! It seemed super promising. Until today, I noticed that feathers were poking out of the bicep area of his left sleeve. He just started wearing this last week. It's not even dirty yet! Then I noticed there were feathers also poking out on the inside of the jacket. I tried to push them back in where I could. This hasn't happened to us with any other down jacket we've owned. I'm feeling skeptical but am hoping it doesn't get worse. This happened with my coworkers down jacket and she eventually ended with feathers all over her clothes whenever she wore it. Hoping this doesn't happen with ours.

My daughter loved this coat when we pulled it out of the bag, but I immediately heard complaints that the arms were not as warm or as cozy as the rest of the coat. There is no plush lining in the arms, just the body of the coat. If I had realized this, I would not have purchased it.

The jacket is warm and stylish, my 9 year old son loves it (we got the multi color blue) but since we got it, it won't zipper. Thought it was just a tricky zipper, often fussing with it when the bus was arriving with no time, but I spent 30 minutes trying to figure it out, it won't zip. Now I have to return it, which is a pain to go without a coat. Frustrating and poor quality!

Not a great coat. Leaks down more than any other down coat we have, or owned previously. Fabric on this coat seems different than any of the 30 or so coats we have purchased from LLB over the years, and I do not mean better. Try a different model.
