"It's fluffy and warm, mom!" This is the coat he chooses going out the door (and he is NOT a coat kid). Very pleased with my purchase and yes, I would buy again. It's also holding up extremely well! My kiddo is NOT easy on his stuff and it still looks brand new - Great coat!

I bought this jacket for my grandson who lives in Columbus, OH... brrrr... he loves it. It keeps him warm and it's easy to move in. Perfect jacket for a 7-8 year old.

I bought 2 of these coats, one small, and one XL. I held off on an immediate review to be sure they are durable. I think these are the best coats I've ever bought for my boys. They are warm, the nice soft fleece lining makes them very comfy on the inside and the vibrant colors are so pretty. We get lots of compliments and my boys who are usually indifferent to clothing, love them as well. LL Bean hit a home run! Thanks!!

My larger-than-average 3-year-old grandson is very fussy and he loves the jacket and likes to wear it. Keeps him nice and warm. He also loves the soft lining which he says makes this a "blanket jacket". Seems well-made as well. We also bought a size 8 for my older grandchild and he loves it too. The younger one will wear the size 8 as well in a year or two.

I bought 2 jackets, snow pants and boots.
we loved it all and kept everything.
We did have an issue with the hood on the heavy jacket- the zipper broke and we did not want to be without the jacket so I repaired it with velcro and it is fine. The fabric stores did not have a zipper light weight enough to use to replace it.
I want to mention the woman on the phone who took my order was very nice and helpful. I would do this again. I like to call and not order on line in case I need help.

My 6 yr old grandson loves his new jacket (cobalt, orange, grey.) It's colorful and bright... plus we can easily find him in a crowd! (Don't laugh - remember he's an active 6 yr old.) The lining is soft and jacket is warm without being heavy. This is his second jacket of the same style which he wore for two years. It would make a great back-up coat if it still fit. I first ordered the sz 8 since 6x-7 was on back order. The size 8 was overall way too large and the sleeves appeared extra long. But the back-order wait was worth it.

Very happy with this jacket. Easy to get my son to wear it. It's warm without making him sweat. Light enough that he can play happily with it on and not think to take it off. Looks good - easy to keep an eye on him. Will be plenty warm come full winter.

My grandson loves this coat. Grandma loves how the hood and collar wrap him up so cozy. Living in northern Michigan has given him many opportunities to have worn it this year already. Mom and Dad give it their highest approval too!

I bought this for my fifth grader and he loved it! For reference, I ordered it in a Large 14-16, and even tho that was a tad bigger than his normal size, it worked great on him. My son normally wears a 10-12 in a shirt, and a 12 slim in pants, and he's 57-1/2" tall and weighs 71 lbs. He does have long limbs, so the sleeves still worked on him with no problem. He absolutely loves the color combo of the blue, orange and silver version of this jacket, and he says the inside is soft and warm. He said he even showed it to his friends and they felt inside and all exclaimed about how incredibly soft the lining felt. It's a total win as a mom purchase.

Inside is soft and hood is detachable. Great warm jacket for my son's winter coat. He loves the bright colors! Good L.L.Bean quality as always.

Super light-weight, but incredibly warm! Allows my son to remain active without being weighed down by a massive coat! Great design, too.

I bought this coat for my granddaughter who doesn't like "bulky" coats. This coat isn't at all bulky; it's very attractive and seems to be very warm. I think she's going to enjoy it and look very nice in it. It's sturdy enough to be handed down to her younger sister so it was well worth the money.

I bought the rainbow color one for my 9 year old grandson thinking the color would work for a boy. His schoolmate made fun of him wearing a girl jacket. I returned that one and bought the white and blue color for him. He loves it now. It's soft and warm. A bit pricey for kid jacket though.

Great jacket, had one small rip that is slowly leaking feathers. that's the only reason I took 1 star off

I've purchased 3 over these jackets over the years. They're so warm and I love the colors. I think it runs large because twice I went off ll bean's size chart and each time I had to do an exchange because they were comically too big. I went down a size and still got two years out of the smaller size. I gave it 4 stars because the fuzzy lining gets matted down over time. I tried putting it in the dryer with tennis balls to fluff it but the area around the neck and back is still flat.

The jacket itself is perfect but for some weird reason the hood is too small and doesn't stay put. It has these strange velcro straps that don't really work.

I bought this jacket in a S(8) for my 7 year old son and the sleeves and width fit him well, but the jacket is short. It barely hits his belt line with his arms down and when he lifts his arms up the jacket goes up to his belly button. Very disappointing. We will have to pair with full length snow bibs to keep him warm and dry. We live in Vermont and this jacket seems very warm, perfect for the coldest wintery days. My son loves the color of the teal jacket.

These jackets are great but they seem to be making them wider than in past years. My son is thin and this fits him a bit weirdly wide. We will probably get something different next year as he's just not heavy set enough for the fit.

Really excellent jacket. Washable, cute, extremely comfy. It runs a bit large, but our 4 year old will get two seasons out of it. It is very warm, has a really substation stand-up collar and hood, sweater cuffs, which prevent cool air from blowing up the sleeves. The sweater cuffs also tuck nicely under the cuffs of gloves. Perhaps in it's next incarnation the design team will add a cuff at the waist as well. My only complaint is that the fleece lining doesn't extend into the sleeves, it's the equivalent of having a vest sewn into the lining. On very cold days it would be nice to have that additional insulation around areas of the body that don't generate much heat. Otherwise, highly recommended!!

First off, my son loves this coat. He loves the colors, he loves that he can zip it, he loves that it's warm.
My son also loves to play in the snow with his dog, run around trees, and do all the things that little kids love to do. I've had to patch this coat 5x now. If you want a coat that you won't have to inspect for rips, go with a stronger material. Or just plan on stocking up on thread and maybe some super fun patches.

This is a great coat! The lining is so soft and cozy, and my son loves these colors. He's able to move freely and it keeps him warm. I love that the hood is detachable. Four stars instead of five, because the lining gets stuck in the zipper.

My son likes this winter coat a lot, he picked it out this year. He said, "It's very warm and cozy. and I like the fuzzy lining"
My one and only very minor issue is that the zippers on the pockets catch on the material and won't open/close without having to tug the lining. I'm concerned this is going to rip, and it makes it hard for my kiddo to get his gloves and hands in / out of his pockets. Despite that small issue, this coat is good value for money.
