We upgraded to the Deluxe size this year for my 7th grader and 5th graders. With more binders this year they need more space to still put their lunch boxes inside b/c they also have to carry band instruments. I hesitated to purchase for my 5th graders b/c their original LLBean backpacks are still in good shape but they are really happy with the larger size.

These are as great as one would expect. We homeschool but these backpacks are essential for travel. We're budget travelers and these fit well under budget airlines seats as a personal item. They're a little big and bulky for some smaller framed kids, but they've just got such a great design for packing. The belt helps.

In 8th grade my Mom bought me an L.L. Bean Backpack. She said it should last me the rest of school. She was right! It took me through the rest of high school. It then was a great bag when I went to Europe in my Undergrad. This is a great bag and well worth the money!

Vacation is for picking out our grandsons 1st llbean backpack. He absolutely loves it! The teal ocean color is bright and he was excited to have his name on it, and so many compartments for his stuff and snacks, school laptop fits great. His mom still has hers from over 20 years ago. Cant beat them worth every penny.

I recently had to replace this backpack due to a broken zipper, which was probably my kid's fault for getting something snagged. Beyond the zipper issue, this backpack served us well from 2nd through 7th grade! I thought it would last one more year, but alas, we have now upgraded to the SUPER DELUXE backpack which I hope he can use until the end of high school. Before I purchased this LLBean backpack, his cheapie backpacks barely lasted a year. Highly recommend! Durable, well constructed, and strong enough to carry a LOT of books.

I went to school in Boston in mid 90s and all my friends had LL Bean backpacks. It bring good memories. Now, my daughter has one!

It has a lot of space, and you can put really thick and clunky items in and it won't bulge from the outside. It has a great shape, looks taller than it is online, but that's even better!

Very sturdy . Most bookbags barely last until Christmas but LL Bean products have lasted years inspite of daily use! Also the variety of colors appeal to all ages! Will never buy anything else

Ready for school! Excellent size for a 3rd grader. Has two drink holders on either side. Multiple compartments which is a plus.

I've ordered many back packs, they are durable and washable in the washing machine air dry. They last a very long time. I still have my daughters from 2004 when she graduated high school

I purchased back backs before years ago for my older grandkids and they still have them which are in great shape. Now i just purchase this one for the youngest grandkids. Quality is very good . Im pleased.

These are a every year tradition for my kids to get a back pack, and they have all of them from over the years. This year I paid it forward to 3 kids who needed school supplies and to give them a back pack that will last them years.

This backpack is large enough to hold all of my daughters school supplies, lunchbox, and water bottle. There are so many pockets that help her stay organized and not lose things.
