We got two of these backpacks for our kids and they're working out great. They are perfect size, durable and super reflective which is also a plus. Doesn't hold a ton of stuff, which is perfect so it can't get too heavy for the kid to carry. Side pocket is perfect for a water bottle.

Great fit! And no characters my kids will outgrow! Have used since pre k to 1st grade! Perfect size backpack for their lil bodies!!! Great buy! I will be buying the larger size when needed to upgrade!

It's the perfect size for my kindergartener. She loves all the pockets and I love that you can fit a book, lunchbox and a snack bag all in the main compartment. Also, I love that there is a spot for her water bottle.

I purchased this backpack for my granddaughter, who is a 3rd grader this year. She loves the bright pink color. The product is the same excellent quality that I ordered for my daughters more than 30 + years ago. Always pleased!!!

My 7 year old son is very happy with this backpack. It fits him well without being oversized, he's 4 feet tall, and can hold a standard sized iPad. We use it for travel, when he carries the iPad, headphones, a few books, a stuffed animal and some small toys. We don't use it for school as it is too small for his lunch box and necessary school stuff. However, I wanted a smaller bag that he could carry easily and not overload and this fits the bill perfectly. The fabric is sturdy without being heavy and the zippers seem to be good quality.

Great item for my toddler that's starting school that will last for years

I bought for my 2.5 year old twins knowing it would be a little big but they could use for years and I'm very pleased. They are able to carry it now without looking like they are going to fall over! I grew up using the L.L. Bean backpack and love that my kids get to have one. Holds everything they need...lunch box, folder, extra clothes. Very spacious and well made!

This back pack is perfect - I purchased it for my three year old granddaughter for her first year of preschool - we both LOVE the color - bright neon pink - and the size is perfect for her - she's so proud of her 'packpack'! Also purchased lunch box in Skylight Blue Flowers and they look great together.

Great backpack for kids. Our grandson has one and it is still useable. I know this one will work well for our granddaughter also. They hold up so well and help the kids keep their stuff together.

My son used this bookbag for PreK4 and Kindergarten and it has held up great. It fits his lunch bag and folder and still has space for a few things. The front pockets are great as well. Finally, upgraded his bookbag to a bigger size for 1st grade!

My family has owned LL Bean book packs for years. They are the best. High quality - very durable.

I have been purchasing these backpacks for 25 years and now I have purchased two for my own children. They love them and the quality is still the same as it was when I was in school over 20 years ago. Great value.

a good size and the waterproof was good

I use the original every day, and these are well constructed, with great zippers and straps. I got the junior for my son, who is starting kindergarten. He wanted orange, to make flames with red and black markers added. It's perfect, because it's VERY BRIGHT FLORESCENT ORANGE!

I recently purchased my second junior back pack, and will be purchasing a third in the near future. I let my three year old grandchildren choose their color/pattern before they start preschool. These back packs fit the little ones well, and hold up beautifully.

I got two bags for my twins (blue & red), they love it. Sturdy construction, padded straps and strong stitches. Also option for custom monogram was perfect - put a smile in their face.

The loop handle and other accents appear tan in color on the website. They are all actually grey and cohesive in person. That was a nice surprise. Great durable quality. Nice deeper jewel toned red color. Heavy duty zippers. Perfect size. Very happy with my purchase.

I bought each of our great-nephews one of these for Christmas. They are 3 and 5 years old. They love to put their books and toys in them to go to their grand-parents house.The book packs are well made and look good. I would always recommend these because they withstand little boys quite well. I had their names put on these. They are Kye and Kru. They are a typical LL Bean product, excellent!

I purchased this book bag in blue 1.5 years ago and it is still holding up great. My son is in daycare and we use this book bag everyday. I even carry the book bag when we go places since I don't need a diaper bag anymore, but I still want wipes on hand for dirty hands and face plus a sippy cup and change of clothes for an active toddler. I really like the water bottle holder on the side. We us the First Essentials by NUK sippy cups and they fit down in the pouch. I push the bottom half of the cup down in there and the elastic top of the pouch holds it in the middle where the larger top of the cup sticks out of the top. I could force the whole sippy cup down in the pouch (there is room for that), but then my son struggles to get the cup out on his own, and the sippy cup is held tight halfway anyways. So I'm not worried about the cup coming out. The reflective pieces and the monogram still look great. I also think this is a good price. I looked around at other stores, and it seems the going rate for decent book bags start at $20, plus LL Bean has a warranty on their bags. I would 100% buy this again.

My elder child, who is now in the 3rd grade, has this backpack and has used it for 2 years. I purchased this backpack make again for my wee child, who is in the 1st grade. I am well pleased with this backpack for the following reasons: 1. Durable: my elder child uses (abuses) it like a normal 1st - 3rd grader, and it has no signs of disrepair. It has traveled with us camping, 3000-mile road trips, and on flights. My wee child has only used the new one for less than a month. 2. Size: this backpack is big enough to fit school work (8x11.5" papers) and a lunchbox without trouble, AND it's not so big to drown my child; it seems to fit the back of both of my primary- and elementary-aged children. 3. Cost: LLBean has priced this backpack quite reasonably, especially with its longevity.

It was exactly as described and the recipient of the gift was very happy.
