I've got a few of these belts from Arc'teryx. Each and every one is terrible when new. I've learned to work them by just bend rolling it near the end so it's more pliable. Once broken in they work nicely. I haven't had any problems with tension slippage.
It seems the wider the belt, the longer they are, not sure why the quality control allows this to happen on belts whereas the majority of the product line has very consistent sizing.

Bought this 10 days ago and w the new sizing has worked out for the better in regard to the length.
The previous version of the conveyor belt length selection was too much extra. I'm a 36 waist and the medium leaves u approx 5 inches extra whereas the previous had to be a large and still had extra to tuck away. Mostly used for recreational apparel but looks great w jeans, holds up well for anything. Very pleased.

Best all around belt I own. I use it mostly with shorts, also Arc'teryx, but have a black belt exactly the same. That's why I had to get another in a different color.

Pros: durable and strong material. Stitching and riveting appears that it will hold up well in the long run. Cons: Runs long. I am a 32 waist, medium in every article of clothing I wear. The medium of this is way too long. It was a gift so the buyer didn't take measurements and assumed medium would work. Other con is it is difficult to thread the hard plastic end through the buckle and once in very difficult to cinch tight. Overall a ton of potential with this based on quality but a major fail on usability. Arcteryx should give reference sizes based on waist sizes as that is a common theme in the questions asked.

I was replacing my previous conveyor belt, which was a small that I purchased a few years ago. It held up well over the years with daily use. However, the new small belt was shorter than my previous small, so I returned and ordered a large. The large was extremely long, and I finally settled on a medium which is significantly longer than the small but the closest size I am going to find in this style. It’s very rigid at first, and needs some time to wear in.

One of my favorite products from the brand, its really clean profile and streamlined giving a tactical look. I prefer this belt as it goes with everything that I wear! I have the black version of this belt and have used it for 2 years with no signs of wear. Whatever its made from is super strong and durable, feels like ballistic nylon. I love the way it cinches down and stays tight all day. Hands down probably my favorite belt I ever owned.

Great Everyday belt
It would be nice to get some more sizes, between current sizes.

This belt would be perfect if it weren't for the fraying issue I've seen in a few reviews. I have had mine for 18 months and is finally getting to the point of being unwearable, the fraying started after a few months of wear and progressed pretty rapidly.
It's unfortunate because this belt is fantastic, the only belt you'll need. I'll be buying another because the belt itself is brilliant, just please fix the issue of fraying, it appears to be common and I'd rather not have to buy a new belt ever 1-2 years..

Zero Stars would be more appropriate in my opinion. This is the worse belt design of all time. Super stiff. End of belt is too big to easily fit through buckle. Its a STRUGGLE to put on, tighten down, and then take off. Its like no one tried this belt on at Arcteryx before it was approved for production???If you ride a bike the belt will grind into your hip / stomach area. Really uncomfortable. As much as LOVE every one of my Atom jackets I equally dislike this belt. Sorry if the truth hurts Arcteryx.

The belt feels good but started fraying where the belt was connected to the tab at the end. This was my first arcteryx product, and I was rightfully skeptical of its value being at such a high price point. I have since moved to a less expensive, liter, and more durable belt that has had no issues.

Everyday I leave the house with my eyeglasses and watch, the very same ones, day after day. My wallet and phone are almost certainly in pocket. My Conveyor Belt has become just as trustworthy and second nature to have along .
Im in my fifties. Ive been searching for such a great fund in a belt. Ive found it. I just ordered two more. Theyll likely outlive me as best I can guess, many years I hope.

This "medium"-length belt is ~ 0.5-0.75 in longer than an earlier "medium" Arc'teryx belt. The current "short" length belt, to be returned, is far too short, ~1.5-1.75 in, compared to the old belt.

A belt that is comfortable and subtle enough for everyday use in a professional setting. Strong and durable enough to still look professional after years of outdoor use in the rain, snow, and sun. Highly recommend. Doesnt slip, and holds exactly where you place the buckle all day.

Excellent construction. Even the tab at the end that is snug through the buckle is not that big of a deal - gives it a sturdy look. Biggest challenge is sizing. Im usually a 33, the small is a bit too small and the medium is a tad too long.

My bad for not reading these reviews before purchasing. As others have mentioned, the metal end of the belt is too big; it doesn't pass through the buckle opening without significant effort. If you like the idea of spending an extra 20 seconds each time you undo/re-do your belt, this'll do the trick. O/w, pass on this "belt"; it's just a non-functional length of cloth. I bought it on sale so my purchase was "final". Very disappointed in Arcteryx.

I love how industrial this belt looks, but I find it really hard to adjust and isn't compatible with most belt loops. I don't mind wearing it with pants that fit well, but I wouldn't fully rely on them to hold up my baggier style pants. Otherwise, gorgeous hardware, nice weight and the materials are incredible quality.

Webbing and hardware are still top rate, but the customers who complain about the buckle being too small are correct. Someone at Arc'teryx should have worn one for a week to discover this - however, about 10 seconds of sanding the non-buckle end on a belt sander (and then fusing the frayed webbing with a lighter) fixes this permanently.

Ive worn this belt for 2 years every single day. Levis at work and shorts on my days off. I loosen it when I feel bloated and tighten it when I stand. So easy and so well supported. Id buy another one before they go away for ever but Im pretty sure this thing is gonna last anothe 5-10 years. Forms to my body and has never come loose on me ever. Stays tight. Every body fluctuates through out the day so if its loose I pull and its tight if its tight a simply loosen. Durable as all heck. Cant be more than impressed

I have a few of these belts. I bought another one last month. Compared to my other belts, it is a little different in buckle shape and belt length. See the pictures. The green belt is the old one. The black one is the new one. They are both size small. However, the new belt is difficult to use. It needs extra 3 to 5 seconds to put it on and take it off. It seems the belt buckle should be a little bigger or the belt end/tip should be smaller.

The previous version of this belt is my favorite one, but like other reviewers, I am really disappointed with the new buckle. It is harder to put on this version and does not hold as well. I would encourage Arc'teryx to return to what works best even if it ends up increasing the cost.

I bought this belt to go along with my Search and Rescue set up. There are two main reasons why I immediately returned it.
1. It does not tighten efficiently. In my experience, I really struggled to tighten it, and then for it to stay as tight as I originally made it. Why is the tightening so difficult?
2. The tongue fits through the buckle, but you gotta really get your elbows into it. It takes too much time to undo the belt, even if I'm not using it on a rescue mission. It shouldn't be that difficult.
I really wanted to love this, as I have my other Arc'Teryx products. But this belt is more of a show piece than practical piece.

The buckle was redesigned from an earlier version and it is now too small and makes the belt near impossible tighten. The colours and durability of the belts are great but the recent buckle loop is poorly thought out.

I wore a small on the last model of this belt. The new model is shorter and too small so I returned it.
