I was hoping to replace an older pair of 880s with this one, but unfortunately will have to return this pair as it seems that the sizing on this model has changed. I've been running in New Balnce for 15 years and have always worn a size 13 D. (Including my previous pair of 880s). This version (v12) runs short. I'm giving it three stars because I know the 880 to be a great shoe and assume this would be the same ... if only I could wear it.

Shoes just don’t feel totally comfortable. I am a senior with assorted foot issues. I thought these may work with professional made insert but had second thoughts after trying shoe at home ar various hours during day.

I ordered a wide, but it was too wide, so that is a sign the regular shoe would be roomy enough. But the foot drop is a 10, and that is a problem for me, as that causes me pain in hip and back. What they need to do is to make this shoe in a foot drop of 5 then I would buy it. They don't make enough shoes with lower foot drops, but that is the only kind my body and feet can take. Could be a great shoe.

I’m larger than your average runner - 6’ and 250 lbs. I had tried these before in different sizes, but only walked in them. When I saw this colorway, I figured I’d give them one more try. They are extremely comfortable to walk around in. I wore them around the house for three days before I decided to take them for an outside run. As I started running, I immediately knew they weren’t going to work. The cushioning is way too soft and, as a heel striker, I was bottoming out with every stride. I barely made it two miles before I was done. I’ve gone through about 30 different running shoes this year trying to find the right one, and the only one I’ve found so far that can handle my weight and running style without bottoming out or losing all cushioning under 100 miles is the Saucony Ride 15. Definitely thankful for the runlimited warranty on these.

Shoes arrived dirty. They had been worn for some time. We were able to clean the uppers and soles.

Wear with blues jeans. Initially comfortable. Other people see the color and have inquiries about the shoe. However, you would think that someone who would order a Size 12 Wide would weigh over 200 pounds. The result of someone of this weight wearing a New Balance Fresh Foam shoe, "the 'foam' quickly becomes too soft and looses its form. " The fix, make the foam more dense for larger shoe sizes in order to handle the weight for extended wear and increased and extended comfort!

For years I used to wear New Balance exclusively size 11 B (narrow) but this New Balance Fresh Foam X 880v12 is about a half size short and too wide. I've had better luck with Brooks shoes.
I'd also recommend:

The materials used for this shoe were not good quality. The color on the "N" also leaked onto the outsole of the shoe. It just looked bad. I love newbalance but this was just not a good shoe.

New Balance shoes almost always fit me perfectly, but these are really tight. I sent them back. Too bad, because they are very nice looking.

The 880 V 12 is quite a moniker, but... Side/lateral support- none. It's like wearing a sock with a sole slapped on the bottom. When you redesign a shoe and remove all lateral 'posts' replacing everything with mesh fabric boasting of 'breathable material', and also narrow the heal sole, you save money on construction time and materials. Even the shoe laces are clearly thinner and cheaper compared with my New Balance shoes from 2-3 years ago. Cheaply made...

these feel like great shoes in general, but the outside of the right shoe is taller than the left, such that it rubs against the outside of my ankle - a problem I've never had with any other shoes...

It is too small in length and barely tolerable in width; It is also, very clunky looking with no style unless you need them for work requirements. I bought the 880V12 because it was on sale, looked like the 860V12 which I bought from you in February, rated as 5 star. It was the only shoe that was a 16/4E, that I thought would have similar style similar to to the 860, was on sale, and most importantly was available in an "all black color". We "Big Foot" guys need/want style/ look/ and fashion. Nobody that I I know, or observe is wearing NBs like the people in your email ads, or at least my size.

I really like New Balance shoes, however when I ordered this pair, I thought I was ordering it in a wide width. What I got was X-wide, which is decidedly too wide. For some reason, Zappos only offers this in three widths, not four, narrow, standard, wide and x-wide. It is a nice shoe, but I will have to wear very heavy socks to compensate for the extra width.
